         Zoila Augusta Emperatriz Chávarri del Castillo, (nacida como Zoila Emperatriz Chávarri Castillo) (Perú, 13 de septiembre de 1922-Los Ángeles, 1 de noviembre de 2008) o más conocida como Yma Súmac, fue una cantante soprano, actriz y compositora peruana, que por conflictos migratorios, se nacionalizó estadounidense. En 1956, el libro Guinness de los récords, la consideró como el rango vocal más extenso de la música. Su nombre artístico proviene de «Ima sumaq», que significa «¡Qué hermoso!» en quechua. Destacó durante la década de 1950, tras los lanzamientos de sus primeros trabajos discográficos, bajo el sello de Capitol Records, utilizando la leyenda de su linaje inca, sumado con su registro de voz, junto a su forma de cantar inspirada en la naturaleza, y la fusión de géneros musicales folclóricos, operísticos y comerciales, hecho por Leslie Baxter, Billy May, y Moisés Vivanco, los cuales la hicieron llegar a la cima de las listas de éxitos musicales en Estados Unidos y Reino Unido, logrando éxito internacional. En 1953 desarrolló su propia técnica de canto, denominada «triple coloratura», que se asemeja al trinar de las aves. La llamaron «princesa inca», tras ser certificada en 1946 en el consulado peruano de Nueva York, como ascendiente directa del último emperador inca, Atahualpa. Cuando empezó a cantar profesionalmente, nunca recibió entrenamiento técnico en lo operístico, ni siquiera sabía leer una partitura, por lo que fue autodidacta. Vendió más de 40 millones de discos. En 2010, V Magazine la consideró como uno de los 9 iconos de moda más importantes.
           Inició su carrera en Perú con el nombre de «Imma Sumack» en 1940, siendo introducida por Moisés Vivanco al ambiente artístico, incluyéndola a su grupo folclórico, instruyéndola y esposándola, haciendo giras latinoamericanas, interpretando música andina y criolla. En 1943 firmó con Odeón en Argentina para realizar sus primeras grabaciones musicales. En 1946 viajaron y se mudaron a Estados Unidos y llegaron a presentarse como agrupación en un evento folclórico del Carnegie Hall en 1948. Fue recién en 1949 cuando Capitol Records la descubrió en una presentación en Nueva York, para posteriormente hacer un contrato con ella y cambiar su seudónimo a «Yma Sumac», convirtiéndola en una solista.
   En 1951 se hizo la primera cantante latinoamericana en participar en una obra de Broadway. En 1953 cantó en el estadio Lewisohn Stadium. En 1954, con la gira The Yma Sumac Concert Tour se presentó en el Carnegie Hall, Cocoanut Grove de Los Ángeles y en el Symphony Hall. En 1960 fue la primera intérprete latinoamericana en ganar una estrella musical en el Paseo de la Fama de Hollywood. Durante 1960-1961 cantó en casi toda la Unión Soviética por invitación de Nikita Jruschov y vendió más de 20 millones de boletos. En 1974, de acuerdo a Variety, hizo más de 3 mil conciertos en todo el mundo. Actualmente, su discografía tiene más de 56 millones de reproducciones en plataformas digitales de streaming a nivel mundial.

          Balduína de Oliveira Sayão, mais conhecida como Bidu Sayão, (Itaguaí, 11 de maio de 1902 — Rockport, Maine, 12 de março de 1999) foi uma célebre intérprete lírica brasileira. Considerada uma das maiores estrelas da ópera de todos os tempos, foi uma das maiores intérpretes do Brasil.
          Filha de Pedro Luiz de Oliveira Sayão e de Maria José da Costa Oliveira Sayão, Bidu Sayão começou estudando canto com Elena Theodorini, uma romena que então vivia no Brasil. Elena a levou para a Romênia, onde continuou seus estudos. Mais tarde, foi para Nice, na França, onde foi aluna de Jean de Reszke, um tenor polonês que a ajudou a consolidar sua técnica vocal. Bidu estreou em 1926 no Teatro Costanzi de Roma, no papel de Rosina em O Barbeiro de Sevilha, de Rossini. Sua estreia no Metropolitan Opera House de Nova Iorque se deu em 1937 no papel de Manon na ópera de Massenet.
       Foi parte do elenco do Metropolitan durante muitos anos. Arturo Toscanini era seu admirador, referindo-se a ela como la piccola brasiliana (traduzido do italiano, significa "a pequena brasileira"). Em fevereiro de 1938, cantou para o casal Roosevelt na Casa Branca. Roosevelt lhe ofereceu a cidadania estadunidense, mas ela recusou. De acordo com ela mesma, "no Brasil eu nasci e no Brasil morrerei". Entretanto, ela morreu de pneumonia nos Estados Unidos em 1999, antes de completar 97 anos, sem realizar um de seus desejos: rever a Baía de Guanabara.

Jan Peerce (June 3, 1904 – December 15, 1984) was an American operatic tenor. Peerce was an accomplished performer on the operatic and Broadway concert stages, in solo recitals, and as a recording artist. He is the father of film director Larry Peerce. He was Jewish.
"Bluebird of Happiness" is a song composed in 1934 by Sandor Harmati, with words by Edward Heyman and additional lyrics by Harry Parr-Davies.
Harmati wrote the song for his friend, the tenor Jan Peerce, the leading singer at Radio City Music Hall. Peerce recorded it three times: in 1936, under the name Paul Robinson, with the Radio City Music Hall Orchestra conducted by Ernö Rapée; on 7 June 1945, under his own name, with the RCA Victor Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sylvan Levin; and in 1958 (the Las Vegas version) with Joe Reisman and his Orchestra. Each version included slight variations in the spoken recitative, which was accompanied by Boldi's "Chanson Bohemienne", rather than Harmati's music.
The 1945 recording became a worldwide hit for Peerce, outselling all his many operatic recordings, and becoming second only to Enrico Caruso's recording of George M. Cohan's "Over There" among the best-selling records made by opera and concert singers. The 1958 version was the one Peerce used in later live performances.
There was also a popular 1948 record by Art Mooney and his Orchestra. Other singers have covered the song, but it remains Jan Peerce's signature tune and is firmly associated with him.

The Student Prince is na operetta in four acts with music by Sigmund Romberg and book and lyrics by Dorothy Donnelly. It is based on Wilhelm Meyer-Förster's play Old Heidelberg. The piece has elements of melodrama but lacks the swashbuckling style common to Romberg's other works. The plot is mostly faithful to its source.
It opened on December 2, 1924, at Jolson's 59th Street Theatre on Broadway. The show was the most successful of Romberg's works, running for 608 performances, the longest-running Broadway show of the 1920s. It was staged by J. C. Huffman. Even the classic Show Boat, the most enduring musical of the 1920s, did not play as long – it ran for 572 performances. "Drinking Song", with its rousing chorus of "Drink! Drink! Drink!" was especially popular with theatergoers in 1924, as the United States was in the midst of Prohibition. The operetta contains the challenging tenor aria "The Serenade" ("Overhead the moon is beaming").
Ernst Lubitsch made a silent film also based on Förster's work, titled The Student Prince in Old Heidelberg, starring Ramón Novarro and Norma Shearer. Its orchestral score did not use any of Romberg's score, although it did include Gaudeamus Igitur. The operetta was revived twice on Broadway – once in 1931 and again in 1943. Mario Lanza's performance on the soundtrack of the 1954 MGM film The Student Prince, renewed the popularity of many of the songs. Composer Nicholas Brodszky and lyricist Paul Francis Webster wrote three new songs for the film. Two of these songs – "I'll Walk with God" and "Beloved", as well as "Serenade" – became closely associated with Lanza, although the role was played on screen by British actor Edmund Purdom, who mimed to Lanza's recordings. The operetta was revived in the 1970s and 1980s by the Light Opera of Manhattan and in 1988 by New York City Opera. The operetta has been performed each summer at the Heidelberg Castle Festival since 1974

El ruiseñor (en ruso: Соловей, en francés: Le rossignol) es un conte lyrique ruso en tres actos con música de Ígor Stravinski. Se conoce normalmente por su título En francés. El libreto, basado en el cuento El ruiseñor de Hans Christian Andersen, fue escrito por el compositor y Stepán Mitúsov.
Más tarde, Stravinski preparó un poema sinfónico, Le chant du rossignol (La canción del ruiseñor), usando música de la ópera, en 1917, como una obra de concierto separada. Posteriormente, Stravinski se apartó de grandes producciones para concentrarse en música de cámara y en el piano.
