PUMPED UP KICKS

FOSTER THE PEOPLE
SONGWRITER: MARK FOSTER
COUNTRY: U. S. A.
ALBUM: TORCHES
LABEL: COLUMBIA RECORDS
GENRE: DANCE
YEAR: 2011

Foster the People is an American indie pop band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 2009. Its members are singer Mark Foster, guitarist Sean Cimino, and keyboardist Isom Innis.
Foster founded the band in 2009 after spending several years in Los Angeles as a struggling musician and working as a commercial jingle writer. After Foster's song "Pumped Up Kicks" became a viral success in 2010, the group received a record deal from Startime International and gained a fanbase through small club shows and appearances at music festivals. After releasing their debut album Torches in May 2011, "Pumped Up Kicks" became a crossover hit on commercial radio in mid-2011 and eventually reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100. The record also featured the singles "Helena Beat" and "Don't Stop (Color on the Walls)". The group received three Grammy Award nominations for Torches and "Pumped Up Kicks".
After touring for two years in support of Torches, Foster the People released their second album, Supermodel, in March 2014. It was preceded by the lead single "Coming of Age". In July 2017, the band released their third studio album, Sacred Hearts Club, with the addition of Isom Innis and Sean Cimino, both former touring members, to the official lineup. From this album, their song "Sit Next to Me" peaked at number 42 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified double platinum by the RIAA.
Torches is the debut studio album by American band Foster the People, released on May 23, 2011, by Startime International and Columbia Records. In 2010, the group parlayed the popularity of frontman Mark Foster's song "Pumped Up Kicks" into a record deal with Startime International, and wrote the album to back the song's popularity. "Pumped Up Kicks" proved to be a sleeper hit; after receiving significant airplay on modern rock stations, the song crossed-over onto contemporary hit radio and became one of 2011's most popular songs. Four additional singles were released from the album: "Helena Beat", "Call It What You Want", "Don't Stop (Color on the Walls)", and "Houdini", which had previously been released as a promotional single in the United Kingdom prior to the album's release.
Torches received generally favorable reviews from critics and was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album. The record peaked at number eight on the Billboard 200 in the US and number one on the ARIA Albums Chart in Australia. It has been certified platinum in Australia and the US, the Philippines, and Canada.
Robert's got a quick hand
He'll look around the room, but won't tell you his plan
He's got a rolled cigarette
Hanging out his mouth, he's a cowboy kid, yeah

He found a six-shooter gun
In his dad's closet, and with a box of fun things
I don't even know what
But he's coming for you, yeah, he's coming for you

All the other kids with the pumped up kicks
You better run, better run outrun my gun
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks
You better run, better run faster than my bullet

All the other kids with the pumped up kicks
You better run, better run outrun my gun
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks
You better run, better run faster than my bullet

Daddy works a long day
He'd be coming home late, yeah, he's coming home late
And he's bringing me a surprise
'Cause dinner's in the kitchen, and it's packed in ice

I've waited for a long time
Yeah, the sleight of my hand is now a quick pull trigger
I reason with my cigarette
Then say, "Your hair's on fire, you must have lost your wits, yeah"

All the other kids with the pumped up kicks
You better run, better run outrun my gun
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks
You better run, better run faster than my bullet

All the other kids with the pumped up kicks
You better run, better run outrun my gun
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks
You better run, better run faster than my bullet

Run, run, run, run
R-r-r-run, run, run, run
R-r-r-run, run, run, run
R-r-r-run
Run, run
Run, run, run

All the other kids with the pumped up kicks
You better run, better run outrun my gun
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks
You better run, better run faster than my bullet

All the other kids with the pumped up kicks
You better run, better run outrun my gun
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks
You better run, better run faster than my bullet

All the other kids with the pumped up kicks
You better run, better run outrun my gun
All the other kids with the pumped up kicks
You better run, better run faster than my bullet.

SONGWRITERS: SIMON FRANKS; SONNY BONO & TOM DINSDALE
COUNTRY: U. S. A.
ALBUM: GENERATION
LABEL: SOURCE UK
GENRE: ELETRONIC DANCE
YEAR: 2005

Nancy Sandra Sinatra(born June 8, 1940) is an American singer and actress. She is the elder daughter of Frank Sinatra and Nancy Sinatra (née Barbato), and is best known for her 1966 signature hit "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'".
Nancy Sinatra began her career as a singer and actress in November 1957 with an appearance on her father's ABC-TV variety series, but initially achieved success only in Europe and Japan. In early 1966 she had a transatlantic number-one hit with "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'". A TV promo clip from the era features Sinatra in high boots, accompanied by colourfully dressed go-go dancers, in what is now considered an iconic Swinging Sixties look. The song was written by Lee Hazlewood, who wrote and produced most of her hits and sang with her on several duets. As with all of Sinatra's 1960s hits, "Boots" featured Billy Strange as arranger and conductor.
Between early 1966 and early 1968, Sinatra charted on Billboard's Hot 100 with 14 titles, ten of which reached the Top 40. In addition to "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'", defining recordings during this period include "Sugar Town", "Love Eyes", the transatlantic 1967 number one "Somethin' Stupid" (a duet with her father), two versions of the title song from the James Bond film You Only Live Twice(1967), several collaborations with Lee Hazlewood– including "Summer Wine", "Jackson", "Lady Bird" and "Some Velvet Morning" – and a non-single 1966 cover of the Cher hit "Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)", which features in the opening credits of Quentin Tarantino's 2003 film Kill Bill Volume 1. In 1971 Sinatra and Hazlewood achieved their first collaborative success in the UK singles chart with the nº 2 hit "Did You Ever?", and the 2005 UK nº 3 hit by Audio Bullys, "Shot You Down", sampled Sinatra's version of "Bang Bang".
Between 1964 and 1968 Sinatra appeared in several feature films, co-starring with Peter Fonda in Roger Corman's biker-gang movie The Wild Angels(1966) and alongside Elvis Presley in the musical drama Speedway(1968). Frank and Nancy Sinatra played a fictional father and daughter in the 1965 comedy Marriage on the Rocks.
Generation is the second studio album by the electronic music group Audio Bullys, released on 31 October 2005. It features the singles "Shot You Down", which reached number 3 on the UK Singles Chart, and "I'm in Love" (released 24 October 2005).
Two Promo versions of the album were released on CD by Source/EMI. One of these (CDSOURDJ107) features a different track order, a different shorter mix of I Won't Let You Down, and 3 extra tracks that were pulled before the final album release.
I was five and he was six
We rode on horses made of sticks
He wore black and I wore white
He would always win the fight

Bang bang, he shot me down
Bang bang, I hit the ground
Bang bang, that awful sound
Bang bang, my baby shot me down

Bang bang, I shot you down
Bang bang, you hit the ground
Bang bang, that awful sound
Bang bang, I used to shoot you down

Down, down, d-down
Down, down, d-down
Down, down, d-down
Down, down, d-down

Down, down, d-down
Down, down, d-down
Down, down, d-down
Down, down, d-down

Down, down, d-down
My baby shot me down
My baby shot me down

Down, down, d-down
Down, down, d-down
Down, down, d-down
Down, down, d-down

Down, down, d-down
Down, down, d-down
Down, down, d-down
Down, down, d-down

Bang bang, I shot you down
Bang bang, you hit the ground
Bang bang, that awful sound
Bang bang, I used to shoot you down.

Got my keys got my coat got my shoes on
Got my phone got my bag got my nails done
You're here, you're here but I'm still alone
I say goodbye to your shadows

Like a moon you pull me to the shore
I can't be your ocean anymore
I can't, I can't but you don't know
How I feel so I gotta go

I...
I...

Got my keys got my coat got my shoes on
Got my phone got my bag got my nails done
You're here, you're here but I'm still alone
I say goodbye to your shadow

Like a moon you pull me to the shore
But I can't be your ocean anymore
I can't, I can't but you don't know
How I feel so I gotta go

Oh, please everytime that I say goodbye
Everytime that I say goodbye
Oh, I don't like leaving, I don't believe in
Everytime that I say goodbye

Should I leave a note this time
Or leave you hanging so I can change my mind
I get the upper hand here tonight
Want you to let go but I'm terrified

All the times on your knees in the hallway
All those times making please in the doorway
It hurts, it hurts but I don't know
Any other way so I gotta go

Again, everytime that I say goodbye
Everytime that I say goodbye
Oh, I don't like leaving, I don't believe in
Everytime that I say goodbye

Again, everytime that I say goodbye
Everytime that I say goodbye
Oh, I don't like leaving, I don't believe in
Everytime that I say goodbye

Everytime that I say goodbye
I don't like leaving, I don't believe in
Everytime that I say goodbye

I don't like leaving
I don't like leaving
I don't like leaving.

SONGWRITERS: Christopher Anthony John Martin; Floyd Nathaniel Hills; Nelly Kim Furtado & Timothy Z. Mosley
COUNTRY: CANADA
ALBUM: LOOSE
LABEL: GEFFEN RECORDS
GENRE: DANCE
YEAR: 2006

Loose is the third studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter Nelly Furtado, released on 7 June 2006, by Geffen Records and Mosley Music Group. Following the release of Furtado's second album, Folklore (2003) through DreamWorks Records, it was announced that Universal Music Group would acquire DreamWorks Records, the latter was folded into the Interscope Geffen A&M umbrella where Furtado would release any new music. Recording sessions for the album took place from 2005 to 2006. Timbaland and his protégé Danja produced the bulk of the album, which incorporates influences of dance, R&B, and hip-hop. The album explores the theme of female sexuality and has been described as introspective.
Overall, the record was seen as critically and commercially successful. It reached high charts positions across the world, including number one in ten countries, and according to an August 2009 press release, it had sold more than 10 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best selling albums of the 2000s. However, the album received criticism because of the sexual image Furtado adopted for the recording, as some critics felt it was a ploy to sell more records. The album was heavily promoted, released in several editions and supported by the Get Loose Tour, which is the subject of the concert DVD Loose: The Concert. Loose debuted at number one, making it Furtado's first album to top the chart along with eight singles were released from the album, including the US number-one singles "Promiscuous" and "Say It Right", which received Grammy Award nominations for Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, respectively. Other successful singles include the UK number-one single "Maneater" and the European number one single "All Good Things (Come to an End)".
Ah, ah, ah
Honestly, what will become of me?
Don't like reality
It's way too clear to me
But really, life is dandy
We are what we don't see
We miss everything daydreaming

Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end?
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end?
Come to an end, come to an
Why do all good things come to an end?
Come to an end, come to an
Why do all good things come to an end?

Traveling, I only stop at exits
Wondering if I'll stay (stay)
Young and restless
Living this way, I stress less
I want to pull away when the dream dies
The pain sets in, and I don't cry
I only feel gravity, and I wonder why

Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end?
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end?
Come to an end, come to an
Why do all good things come to an
Come to an end, come to an
Why do all good things come to an

Well, the dogs were whistling a new tune
Barking at the new moon
Hoping it would come soon, so that they could
Dogs were whistling a new tune
Barking at the new moon
Hoping it would come soon, so that they could
Die, die, die, die

Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end?
Flames to dust
Lovers to friends
Why do all good things come to an end?
Come to an end, come to an
Why do all good things come to an
Come to an end, come to an
Why do all good things come to an

Well, the dogs were barking at the new moon
Whistling a new tune
Hoping it would come soon
And the sun was wondering if it should
Stay away for a day
'Til the feeling went away
And the sky was falling
And the clouds were dropping
And the rain forgot how to bring salvation
The dogs were barking at the new moon
Whistling a new tune
Hoping it would come soon
So that they could die.

For your love
When I think about those nights in Montreal
I get the sweetest thoughts of you and me
Memories of love above the city lights
Wuh, I've tried so hard to take it
But oh Lord my heart won't make it
I just wanna stop
And tell you what I feel about you babe
I just wanna stop
I never wanna live without you babe
I just gotta stop
For your love
When I think about the way the world must hurt
I get the saddest thoughts for you and me
Memories of life and time goes on and on
Wuh, I've tried hard to forget it
But oh Lord my heart won't make it
I just wanna stop
And tell you what I feel about you babe
I just wanna stop
I never wanna live without you babe
I just gotta stop
For your love.

Nunca debí llamarte
Nunca debí escuchar
Tantas palabras que
Hipnotizaban a mi corazón

Con la luz de tus labios
Y el calor de tu voz

Aún así arriesgaré mi vida
Para tenerte junto a mí
Aún así te dejaré mis besos
El amor que siento yo por ti
Porque

Mi corazón no te deja de amar
Mi corazón me pregunta
Si tú volverás

Mi corazón no te quiere olvidar, uh

Mmh!

ALBUM: FEVER
LABEL: FESTIVAL MUSHROOM
GENRE: DANCE-POP
YEAR: 2002

Kylie Ann Minogue (/mɪˈnoʊɡ/; born 28 May 1968), also known mononymously as Kylie, is an Australian singer and actress. Minogue is the highest-selling female Australian artist of all time, having sold over 80million records worldwide. She has been recognised for reinventing herself in music and fashion, for which she is referred to by the European press as the "Princess of Pop" and a style icon. Her accolades include a Grammy Award, three Brit Awards and 17 ARIA Music Awards.
Born and raised in Melbourne, Minogue first achieved recognition starring in the Australian soap opera Neighbours, playing tomboy mechanic Charlene Robinson. She gained prominence as a recording artist in the late 1980s and released four bubblegum and dance-pop-influenced studio albums produced by Stock Aitken Waterman. By the early 1990s, she had amassed several top ten singles in the UK and Australia, including "I Should Be So Lucky", "The Loco-Motion", "Hand on Your Heart", and "Better the Devil You Know". Taking more creative control over her music, Minogue signed with Deconstruction Records in 1993 and released Kylie Minogue(1994) and Impossible Princess(1997), both of which received positive reviews. She returned to mainstream dance-oriented music with 2000's Light Years, including the number-one hits "Spinning Around" and "On a Night Like This". The follow-up, Fever(2001), was an international breakthrough for Minogue, becoming her best-selling album to date. Two of its singles, "Love at First Sight" and "In Your Eyes", became hits, but its lead single, "Can't Get You Out of My Head" became one of the most successful singles of the 2000s, selling over five million units.
Minogue continued reinventing her image and experimenting with a range of genres on her subsequent albums, which spawned successful singles such as "Slow", "2 Hearts", "All the Lovers", "Santa Baby", "Timebomb" and "Dancing". With her 2020 album Disco, she became the first female artist to have a chart-topping album in the UK for five consecutive decades. Minogue made her film debut in The Delinquents(1989) and portrayed Cammy in Street Fighter(1994). She has also appeared in the films Moulin Rouge!(2001), Jack & Diane, Holy Motors (2012) and San Andreas (2015). In 2014, she appeared as a judge on the third series of The Voice UK and The Voice Australia. Her other ventures include product endorsements, children's books, fashion, and charitable work.
"Love at First Sight" is a song by Australian singer Kylie Minogue from her eighth studio album Fever(2001). It was written by Minogue, Richard Stannard, Julian Gallagher, Ash Howes and Martin Harrington, and produced by Stannard and Gallagher. It is unrelated to the song "Love at First Sight" from Minogue's debut studio álbum Kylie(1988). "Love at First Sight" is a dance-pop and nu-disco song which, lyrically, describes the singer falling and believing in love at first sight. It was released as the third, and second in North America, single from Fever on 3 June 2002.
"Love at First Sight" received generally positive reviews from music critics; majority of the critics commended the song's commercial appeal and composition. Minor criticism was towards the production similarities of Minogue's previous singles from Fever. "Love at First Sight" was a commercial success worldwide. In her native Australia, it peaked at number three on the ARIA Singles Chart, and in the United Kingdom, it debuted and peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart. It also charted within the top-ten in countries including Canada, Denmark, Ireland, Spain and New Zealand. In the United States, it peaked at number 23 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number one on the Dance Club Songs chart.
The accompanying music video for "Love at First Sight" was directed by Johan Renck and features Minogue and her backup dancers in a futuristic maze, all shot in single take motion. "Love at First Sight" was first performed on her KylieFever2002 tour and has featured on all her tours with the exception of the Anti Tour(2012). The song was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Dance Recording during the 2003 ceremony, becoming Minogue's first Grammy nomination.
Thought that I was going crazy
Just havin' one those days, yeah
Didn't know what to do
Then there was you

And everything went from wrong to right
And the stars came out to fill up the sky
The music you were playin' really blew my mind
It was love at first sight

'Cause baby when I heard you
For the first time I knew
We were meant to be as one

I was tired of running out of luck
Thinkin' 'bout giving up, yeah
Didn't know what to do
Then there was you

And everything went from wrong to right
And the stars came out to fill up the sky
The music you were playin' really blew my mind
It was love at first sight

'Cause baby when I heard you
(When I heard)
For the first time I knew
We were meant to be as one
(To be as one)

'Cause baby when I heard you
For the first time I knew
We were meant to be as one

Everythin' went from wrong to right
And the stars came out and filled up the sky
(Up the sky)
The music you were playin' really blew my mind
It was love at first sight
(Love)
Love at first sight
Love at first sight
Love
Ooh, it was love, it was love at first sight

'Cause baby when I heard you
(When I heard)
For the first time I knew
We were meant to be as one
(To be as one)

'Cause baby when I heard you
(When I heard)
For the first time I knew
We were meant to be as one

It was love, it was love, it was love, it was love
Oohh, it was love, it was love, it was love, it was love
Oohh, it was love, it was love, it was love, it was love
