MY BABY LOVES TO DANCE

CHRIS MONTEZ
SONGWRITER: JIM LEE
COUNTRY:
ALBUM: CHRIS MONTEZ LET’S DANCE
LABEL: MONOGRAM RECORDS
GENRE: TWIST
YEAR: 1959

Chris Montez (born Ezekiel Christopher Montañez on January 17, 1943) is an American guitarist and vocalist, whose stylistic approach has ranged from rock & roll to pop standards and Latin music. His rock sound is exemplified in songs such as his 1962 hit "Let's Dance", which reached Nº 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. When his early music's popularity began to fade, he switched to a more traditional role as a popular singer of soft ballads, scoring hits with “The More I See You” and “Call Me" in 1966. He has also recorded in Latin styles. Over the intervening years, he has continued to work in all three modes.
"Let's Dance" is a 1962 hit single by Chris Montez, written and produced by Jim Lee.
The stomp and the bird and wautusi too
I tell you there ain't a dance she doesn't know how to do

My baby loves to dance
But just with me
She shakes and shakes that thing
It's quite a sight to see

My baby loves to dance
She goes like this
Then shimmy's up so close
And thrills me with her kiss

The stomp and the bird and wautusi too
I tell you there ain't a dance she doesn't know how to do

My baby loves to dance
A lot like you
So come on, come on and dance
And show 'em what you can do
Come on, come on, come on and dance

The stomp and the bird and wautusi too
I tell you there ain't a dance she doesn't know how to do

My baby loves to dance
But just with me
She shakes and shakes that thing
It's quite a sight to see

My baby loves to dance
It looks so fine
So baby you better come on
And shake it one more time

The stomp and the bird and wautusi too
I tell you there ain't a dance she doesn't know how to do
My baby loves to dance.

WILBURY TWIST

THE TRAVELING WILBURYS
SONGWRITERS: BOB DYLON; TOM PETTY & GEORGE HARRISON
COUNTRY: U. K. X U. S. A.
ALBUM: THE TRAVELING WILBURYS, VOL. 3
LABEL: WILBURY RECORDS
GENRE: TWIST
YEAR: 1990

Traveling Wilburys Vol. 3 is the second and final studio album by the Traveling Wilburys, a group consisting of George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Bob Dylan and Tom Petty. It was released on October 29, 1990 as the follow-up to their 1988 debut, Traveling Wilburys Vol. 1. The band members again adopted pseudonyms for their contributions, using new names from the fictitious Wilbury brothers.
Though it was their second release, the album was mischievously titled Vol. 3 by George Harrison. According to Jeff Lynne, "That was George's idea. He said, 'Let's confuse the buggers.'"
As the dynamics within the band had shifted with Roy Orbison's death, the four remaining members all adopted new Wilbury pseudonyms: Spike (George Harrison), Clayton (Jeff Lynne), Muddy (Tom Petty) and Boo (Bob Dylan). With Harrison and Lynne producing again, the sessions were undertaken in the spring of 1990. An additional track, a cover of "Nobody's Child", was recorded and released in June 1990 as a charity single in aid of Olivia Harrison's Romanian Angel Appeal. The song was also the title track of a multi-artist fundraising album compiled by the Harrisons, Nobody's Child: Romanian Angel Appeal. Traveling Wilburys Vol. 3 was dedicated to the memory of "Lefty Wilbury" (Roy Orbison).
Released in October 1990, the album was less positively received than Vol. 1, yet still saw a fair measure of success. In the United States, "She's My Baby" (with guest guitarist Gary Moore) and "Inside Out" became radio hits, charting at number 2 album rock and number 16 album rock, respectively. The album peaked at number 14 in the UK and number 11 in the US, where it was certified platinum by the RIAA.
Comparing the two Wilburys albums, a reviewer in The New York Times wrote in November 1990: "The superstar pop group stays close to 50's and 60's rock roots, drawing on blues, doo-wop, rockabilly and Buddy Holly. But their second album is faster, jokier, lighter and meaner than the first." Rolling Stone described the blending of the four participants' musical styles as "seemingly effortless", and said that the album showed they continued to enjoy their collaboration. In the years following Vol. 3, there was speculation about further Wilbury releases. Since Harrison was viewed as the de facto leader of the group, his death in November 2001 ended the possibility of any future projects.

"Hava Nagila" (Hebrew: הבה נגילה, Havah Nagilah, "Let us rejoice") is an Israeli folk song traditionally sung at Jewish celebrations. It is perhaps the first modern Israeli folk song in the Hebrew language that has become a staple of band performers at Jewish weddings and bar/bat mitzvah celebrations. It was composed in the 1920s in the British Mandate of Palestine, when Hebrew was being revived for the first time as a spoken language in almost 2,000 years (since the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 AD). For the first time, Jews were being encouraged to speak Hebrew as a common language, instead of Yiddish, Arabic, Ladino, or other regional Jewish languages.
Abraham Zevi Idelsohn (1882–1938), a professor at Hebrew University, began cataloging all known Jewish music and teaching classes in musical composition; one of his students was a promising cantorial student, Moshe Nathanson, who (with the rest of his class) was presented by the professor with a 19th-century, slow, melodious, chant (niggun or nigun) and assigned to add rhythm and words to fashion a modern Hebrew song. There are competing claims regarding Hava Nagila's composer, with both Idelsohn and Nathanson being suggested.

SONGWRITER: Dave Appell & Kal Mann

ALBUM: LET’S TWIST AGAIN
LABEL: PARKWAY
GENRE: TWIST
YEAR: 1961

"Let's Twist Again" is a song written by Kal Mann and Dave Appell, and released as a single by Chubby Checker. One of the biggest hit singles of 1961, it reached #2 in the UK and #8 on the U.S. Billboard pop chart. It refers to the Twist dance craze and his 1960 and 1961 re-released single "The Twist", a UK and U.S. number-one single.
The song received the 1962 Grammy Award for Best Rock & Roll Recording. Checker also recorded the song in German as "Der Twist Beginnt" and in Italian as "Balliamo il Twist". The song appears on the soundtrack of the 2011 film The Help.
Croatian Singer Tatjana Cameron Tajči made a remake of the song in Croatian renaming it as Moj mali je opasan. How that is relevant to this great song?
Come on everybody clap your hands
Ahhh you're looking good
I'm gonna sing my song and you won't take long
We gonna do the twist and it goes like this

Come on let's twist again like we did last summer
Yea, let's twist again like we did last year
Do you remember when things were really hummin'
Yea, let's twist again, twistin' time is here

Round 'n around 'n up 'n down we go again
Oh baby make me know you love me so again
Twist again like we did last summer
Come on twist again, like we did last year

Who's that, flyin' up there?
Is it a bird? No
Is it a plane? No
Is it the twister? Yeah

Twist again like we did last summer
Come on let's twist again, like we did last year

Do you…

CHUBBY CHECKER AND THE FAT BOYS
COMPOSER: Hank Ballard
PRODUCER: Dave Appell
álbum: Twist With Chubby Checker
RECORDER: Parkway Records
GENRE: TWIST/ROCK AND ROLL
YEAR: 1960

"The Twist" is an American pop song written and originally released in early 1959 by Hank Ballard and the Midnighters as a B-side to "Teardrops on Your Letter". Ballard's version was a moderate 1960 hit, peaking at number 28 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Chubby Checker's 1960 cover version of the song gave birth to the Twist dance craze. His single became a hit, reaching number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on September 19, 1960, where it stayed for one week, and setting a record as the only song to reach number 1 in two different chart runs when it resurfaced and topped the chart again for two weeks starting on January 13, 1962.
In 1988, "The Twist" again became popular due to a new recording of the song by The Fat Boys featuring Chubby Checker. This version reached number 2 in the United Kingdom and number 1 in Germany. In 2014, Billboard magazine declared the song the "biggest hit" of the 1960.

Twist and twist, vous y viendrez tous
Twist and twist et vous verrez tout
Twist and twist, le monde entier twister !

Et si ce soir, vous sortez pour flirter
Avec l'espoir de vouloir vous placer
Twistez, twistez comme on vous a montré
Je suis certain, vous gagnerez, voilà c'est ça, oui comme ça, oh yeah !

Twist and twist, vous y viendrez tous
Twist and twist et vous verrez tout
Twist and twist, le monde entier twister !
