Across the Universe is a 2007 jukebox musical romantic drama film directed by Julie Taymor, centered on songs by the Beatles. The script is based on an original story credited to Taymor, Dick Clement, and Ian La Frenais, and based on the song of the same name by Lennon–McCartney. It incorporates 34 compositions originally written by members of the Beatles. The film stars Evan Rachel Wood, Jim Sturgess, Joe Anderson and T.V. Carpio, and introduces Dana Fuchs and Martin Luther McCoy as actors. Cameo appearances are made by Bono, Eddie Izzard, Joe Cocker, and Salma Hayek, among others.
Across the Universe premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 14, 2007, and was theatrically released in the United States on October 12 by Columbia Pictures. The film received mixed reviews from critics, with many praising the visuals, cast and singing performances, though criticized the plot and direction. The film was a major box-office bomb, failing to earn even half of its total production budget at the box office. The film received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and an Oscar nomination for Best Costume Design. Two members of the supporting cast, Carol Woods and Timothy T. Mitchum, performed as part of a special Beatles tribute at the 50th Grammy Awards.

Close your eyes and I'll kiss you
Tomorrow I'll miss you
Remember I'll always be true
And then while I'm away
I'll write home everyday
And I'll send all my loving to you

I'll pretend that I'm kissing
The lips I am missing
And hope that my dreams will come true

And then while I'm away
I'll write home everyday
And I'll send all my loving to you

All my loving, I will send to you
All my loving, darling, I'll be true

Close your eyes and I'll kiss you
Tomorrow I'll miss you
Remember I'll always be true
And then while I'm away
I'll write home everyday
And I'll send all my loving to you

All my loving, I will send to you
All my loving, darling, I'll be true
All my loving, all my loving
All my loving, I will send to you

"Love Theme from Romeo and Juliet", also known as "A Time for Us", is an instrumental arranged by Henry Mancini (from Nino Rota's music written for Franco Zeffirelli's film of Romeo and Juliet, starring Leonard Whiting and Olivia Hussey). It was a number-one pop hit in the United States during the year 1969. It topped the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart on June 28, 1969, and remained there for two weeks; it was also his only Top Ten single on that chart.
Rearranged by Mancini, the song started competing with rock and roll songs from The Beatles and the Rolling Stones on an Orlando, Florida radio station and spread from there. It faced stiff opposition from some radio stations for being too soft. Those stations had to change their mind when the song became number one, ending the five-week run of Get Back by the Beatles as the top song.
This release also topped the U.S. easy listening chart for eight weeks where it was Mancini's sole number one on the chart.
A time for us some day there'll be
When chains are torn by courage born of a love that's free
A time when dreams so long denied and flourish
As we unveil the love we now must hide

A time for us at last to see
A life worthwhile for you and me

And with our love through tears and thorns
We will endure as we pass surely through every storm

A time for us someday there'll be
A new world, a world of shining hope for you and me

A time for us some day there'll be
A new world, a world of shining hope for you and me.

Moon river, wider than a mile
I'm crossin' you in style someday
Oh, dream maker, you heartbreaker
Wherever you're goin', I'm goin' your way

Two drifters, off to see the world
There's such a lot of world to see
We're after the same rainbow's end
Waitin' 'round the bend
My huckleberry friend
Moon River, and me

Moon river, wider than a mile
I'm crossin' you in style someday
Oh, dream maker, you heartbreaker
Wherever you're goin', I'm goin' your way

Two drifters, off to see the world
There's such a lot of world to see
We're after the same rainbow's end
Waitin' 'round the bend
My huckleberry friend
Moon River, and me.

Iske rauta, synny rauta,
Synny kuumassa tulessa.
Iske rauta, nouse maasta,
Synny povissa luonnotarten.

Iske rauta, tapporauta,
Iskemällä sinä synnyt.
Iske rauta, musta rauta,
Kuuma tervan polttorauta.

Iske, iske, iske, iske….
Iske!

Kolme rautaa iskekäähän,
Teidät iski ilmarinen.
Iskeäkseen nosti maasta
Jäljistä petojen jalkain.

Iske rauta, synny rauta,
Muutu kuumassa tulessa.
Vanno rauta, tapporauta,
Älä koskaan omia iske.

Iske rauta, vaskirauta,
Iskuista teräsi saanet.
Iske rauta niin punainen,
Kuuman polton poikkirauta.

Iske rauta kauniin kirkas,
Iskuista sinäkin synnyt.
Iske rauta valkehinen,
Teroitettu tapporauta.

Iskuista sinäkin synnyt,
Iske, iske,
Iskuista sinäkin synnyt,
Iske, iske, iske!

Kolme rautaa iskekäähän,
Teidät iski ilmarinen.
Iskeäkseen nosti maasta
Jäljistä petojen jalkain.

Iske rauta, synny rauta,
Muutu kuumassa tulessa.
Vanno rauta, tapporauta,
Älä koskaan omia iske.
