"My
Favorite Things" is a popular show tune, originally from the 1959 Rodgers
and Hammerstein musical The
Sound of Music.
The song
was first sung as a duet between Maria (played by Mary Martin)
and Mother Abbess (Patricia Neway)
in the original 1959 Broadway production and by Julie
Andrews in The
Garry Moore Show's 1961 Christmas special and the
1965 film.

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens;
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens;
Brown paper packages tied up with strings;
These are a few of my favorite things.
Cream-colored ponies and crisp apple strudels;
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles;
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings;
These are a few of my favorite things.
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes;
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes;
Silver-white winters that melt into springs;
These are a few of my favorite things.
When the dog bites,
When the bee stings,
When I'm feeling sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don't feel so bad.
