Não sei por que
Insisto tanto em te querer
Se você sempre faz de mim
O que bem quer
Se ao teu lado
Sei tão pouco de você
É pelos outros que eu sei
Quem você é

Eu sei de tudo
Com quem andas, aonde vais
Mas eu disfarço o meu ciúme
Mesmo assim
Pois aprendi
Que o meu silêncio vale mais
E desse jeito eu vou trazer
Você pra mim

E como prêmio
Eu recebo o teu abraço
Subornando o meu desejo
Tão antigo
E fecho os olhos
Para todos os teus passos
Me enganando
Só assim somos amigos

Por quantas vezes
Me dá raiva de querer
Em concordar com tudo
Que você me faz
Já fiz de tudo
Pra tentar te esquecer
Falta coragem pra dizer
Que nunca mais

Nós somos cúmplices
Nós dois somos culpados
No mesmo instante
Em que teu corpo toca o meu
Já não existe
Nem o certo, nem errado
Só o amor que por encanto
Aconteceu

E é só assim
Que eu perdoo
Os teus deslizes
E é assim o nosso
Jeito de viver
E em outros braços
Tu resolves tuas crises
Em outras bocas
Não consigo te esquecer
Te esquecer.

Eu preciso te falar
Te encontrar de qualquer jeito
Pra sentar e conversar
Depois andar de encontro ao vento

Eu preciso respirar
O mesmo ar que te rodeia
E na pele quero ter
O mesmo sol que te bronzeia
Eu preciso te tocar
E outra vez te ver sorrindo
Te encontrar num sonho lindo

Já não dá mais pra viver
Um sentimento sem sentido
Eu preciso descobrir
A emoção de estar contigo
Ver o sol amanhecer
E ver a vida acontecer
Como um dia de domingo

Faz de conta que ainda é cedo
Tudo vai ficar por conta da emoção
Faz de conta que ainda é cedo
E deixar falar a voz do coração.
WEST END GIRLS
PET SHOP BOYS
SONGWRITERS: NEIL TENNANT & CHRIS lOWE
COUNTRY: U. K.
ALBUM: WEST END GIRLS
LABEL: PARLOPHONE RECORDS
GENRE: SYNTHPOP
YEAR: 1984

"West End Girls" is a song by the British pop duo Pet Shop Boys. Written by Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, the song was released twice as a single. The song is influenced by hip hop music, with lyrics concerned with class and the pressures of inner-city life which were inspired partly by T. S. Eliot's poem The Waste Land. It was generally well received by contemporary music critics and has been frequently cited as a highlight in the duo's career.
The first version of the song was produced by Bobby Orlando and was released on Columbia Records' Bobcat Records imprint in April 1984, becoming a club hit in the United States and some European countries. After the duo signed with EMI, the song was re-recorded with producer Stephen Hague for their first studio album, Please. In October 1985, the new version was released, reaching number one in the United Kingdom and the United States in 1986.

Sometimes you're better off dead

There's gun in your hand and it's pointing at your head
You think you're mad, too unstable
Kicking in chairs and knocking down tables
In a restaurant in a West End town
Call the police, there's a madman around
Running down underground to a dive bar
In a West End town

In a West End town, a dead end world
The East End boys and West End girls
In a West End town, a dead end world
The East End boys and West End girls
West End girls

Too many shadows, whispering voices
Faces on posters, too many choices
If, when, why, what?
How much have you got?
Have you got it, do you get it, if so, how often?
And which do you choose, a hard or soft option?
(How much do you need?)

In a West End town, a dead end world
The East End boys and West End girls
In a West End town, a dead end world
The East End boys and West End girls
West End girls
West End girls

How much do you need?

In a West End town, a dead end world
The East End boys and West End girls
OOh West End town, a dead end world
East End boys, West End Girls
West End girls

You've got a heart of glass or a heart of stone
Just you wait 'til I get you home
We've got no future, we've got no past
Here today, built to last
In every city, in every nation
From Lake Geneva to the Finland station
(How far have you been?)

In a West End town, a dead end world
The East End boys and West End girls
A West End town, a dead end world
East End Boys, West End girls
West End girls

West End girls

West End girls
(How far have you been?)

Girls
East End boys
And West End girls
And West End girls
(... forever)
And West End girls
(How far have you been?)

East End boys
The West End girls
The West End boys
And West End girls

The West End girls
The West End boys
The West End girls.

We won't find out until we grow
HIM: Well I don't know if all that's true
'Cause you got me, and baby I got you

HIM: Babe
BOTH: I got you babe, I got you babe

HER: They say our love won't pay the rent
Before it's earned, our money's all been spent
HIM: I guess that's so, we don't have a plot
