"The Glory of Love" is a song written by Billy Hill, recorded by Benny Goodman in 1936, whose version was a number one pop hit. In 1951, R&B vocal group, The Five Keys, had their biggest R&B hit with their version of the song, hitting number one on the R&B chart for four non-consecutive weeks. Although The Five Keys recording sold a reported million copies pressed recordings are very rare.
James Francis Durante (February 10, 1893 – January 29, 1980) was an American singer, pianist, comedian, and actor. His distinctive clipped gravelly speech, Lower East Side Manhattan accent, comic language-butchery, jazz-influenced songs, and prominent nose helped make him one of America's most familiar and popular personalities of the 1920s through the 1970s. He often referred to his nose as the Schnozzola (from the Yiddish slang word "Schnoz" [big nose]), and the word became his nickname.
You've got to give a little, take a little
And let your poor heart break a little
That's the story of, that's the glory of love

You've got to laugh a little, cry a little
Until the clouds roll by a little
That's the story of, that's the glory of love

As long as there's the two of you
You've got the world and all its charms
And when the world is through with you
You've got each other's arms

You've got to win a little, lose a little
And always have the blues a little
That's the story of, that's the glory of love

As long as there's the two of you
You've got the world and all its charms
And when the world is through with you
You've got each other's arms

You've got to win a little, lose a little
And always have the blues a little
That's the story of, that's the glory of love
That's the story of, that's the glory of love.

The coffee's ready if you'll have some
And breakfast should be finished soon
The paper called for sun tomorrow
It looks like rain the whole day through

Oooh Oooh Oooh Oooh

Morning left us both defeated
The mailman left another bill
Hallway closet's overflowin'
With all those shoes too big to fill

So what's that song you used to sing me?
What's that dance we used to do?
Is this house quiet or just empty?
Do you hear the silence as loud as I do?

Oooh Oooh Oooh Oooh
Oooh Oooh Oooh Oooh

You don't say it like you mean it
And I don't mean it like I say
Morning left us both defeated
And it's just been one of those days

So I'll have dinner on the table
And you can have me for a while
The paper called for sun tomorrow
If we make through tonight

Oooh Oooh Oooh Oooh
Oooh Oooh Oooh Oooh.

Enquanto eu puxar no balde, água do poço à vontade

A mesma água levou.

Old man sunshine listen you
Never tell me dreams come true
Just try it and I'll start a riot
Beatrice Fairfax don't you dare
Ever tell me he will care
I'm certain it's the final curtain
I never want to hear from any cheerful Pollyannas
Who tell you fate supplies a mate
It's all bananas

They're writing songs of love but not for me
A lucky star's above but not for me
With love to lead the way I've found more clouds of gray
Than any Russian play could guarantee

I was a fool to fall and get that way
Hi-ho, alas, and also lack-a-day
Although I can't dismiss the memory of his kiss
I guess he's not for me

I was a fool to fall and get that way
Hi-ho, alas, and also lack-a-day
Although I can't dismiss the memory of his kiss.
