The Ladies of Soul are a Dutch supergroup consisting of Candy Dulfer, Berget Lewis, Glennis Grace and Edsilia Rombley. Trijntje Oosterhuis, also a founding member, left in 2017 to focus on her solo-career.
The Ladies of Soul, already connected through relatives and friends, were first brought together in 2012 for a series of Whitney Houston-memorial-concerts in 2012. These were organised by Tjeerd Oosterhuis, Trijntje's producer brother and Rombley's husband. Other singers also appeared at the concerts (Do, Leona Philippo and Tania Kross); only Philipo, winner of Voice of Holland, ended up being invited as a special guest.
In November 2013 they issued a single, I'll Carry You, as a teaser for their first two shows at Amsterdam's Ziggo Dome on 13 and 14 February 2014. These were recorded for cd- and DVD-release. Thus setting the blueprint for subsequent editions; three shows in Amsterdam plus one in Belgium at Antwerp's Lotto Arena featuring Natalia Druyts as special guest. Oosterhuis only missed the Antwerp show in 2016, and announced her departure after the 2017 leg which completely sold out. She made a guest-appearance at the 5th anniversary-shows on March 23 and 24, 2018.
The remaining Ladies appeared in na NPO 2-documentary following their preparations for the 2019 leg, as well as their solo-careers.

Judith Katrijntje "Trijntje" Oosterhuis (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈjydɪt (kaː)ˈtrɛiɲcə ˈʔoːstərɦœys]; born 5 February 1973) is a Dutch singer and songwriter. She formed the band Total Touch in 1990 with her brother Tjeerd Oosterhuis before she started as a solo singer. She represented the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song "Walk Along", placing fourteen in the first semi-final with 33 points and winning the Barbara Dex Award of the year.
Edsilia Francisca Rombley (born 13 February 1978) is a Dutch singer and television presenter. She began her career in 1995, as a member of the Dutch girl group Dignity. Rombley began her solo career in 1996, after winning the Dutch talent show Soundmixshow, later winning the European Soundmix Show as well the following year.
In 1998, Rombley won Nationaal Songfestival 1998 and represented the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest 1998 with the song "Hemel en aarde", placing fourth. She later represented the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest 2007 with the song "On Top of the World", but did not qualify for the final. In 2009, Rombley hosted season one of the Dutch celebrity talent show Beste Zangers, and will now cohost the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in Rotterdam.
Throughout her career, Rombley has released eight studio albums and two top five singles in the Netherlands.
Candy Dulfer(born 19 September 1969) is a Dutch jazz and pop saxophonist. She is the daughter of jazz saxophonist Hans Dulfer. She began playing at age six and founded her band Funky Stuff when she was fourteen. Her debut álbum Saxuality(1990) received a Grammy nomination. She has performed and recorded with Hans Dulfer, Prince, Dave Stewart, Van Morrison, Angie Stone, Maceo Parker and Rick Braun and has performed live with Alan Parsons(1995), Pink Floyd(1990), and Tower of Power(2014). She hosted the Dutch television series Candy Meets...(2007), in which she interviewed musicians. In 2013, she became a judge in the fifth season of the Dutch version of X Factor.
Glenda Hulita Elisabeth Batta (born 19 June 1978), better known by her stage name Glennis Grace, is a Dutch singer from Amsterdam. In 2005 Grace represented the Netherlands in the 50th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest and in 2018 she appeared on the 13th season of America's Got Talent and made it to the finals.

"At Last" is a song written by Mack Gordon and Harry Warren for the musical film Sun Valley Serenade(1941). Glenn Miller and his orchestra recorded the tune several times, with a 1942 version reaching number two on the US Billboard pop music chart.
In 1960, rhythm and blues singer Etta James recorded an arrangement by Riley Hampton that improvised on Warren's melody. James' version was the title track on her debut álbum At Last!(1960) and was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999. Celine Dion and Beyoncé also had chart successes with the song.
Etta James (Born Jamesetta Hawkins; January 25, 1938 – January 20, 2012) was an American singer who performed in various genres, including blues, R&B, soul, rock and roll, jazz and gospel. Starting her career in 1954, she gained fame with hits such as "The Wallflower", "At Last", "Tell Mama", "Something's Got a Hold on Me", and "I'd Rather Go Blind". She faced a number of personal problems, including heroin addiction, severe physical abuse, and incarceration, before making a musical comeback in the late 1980s with the album Seven Year Itch.
James's powerful, deep, earthy voice bridged the gap between rhythm and blues and rock and roll. She won six Grammy Awards and 17 Blues Music Awards. She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993, the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1999 and the Blues Hall of Fame in 2001. Rolling Stone magazine ranked James number 22 on its list of the 100 Greatest Singers of All Time; she was also ranked number 62 on its list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.
James possessed the vocal range of a contralto. Her musical style changed during the course of her career. At the beginning her recording career, in the mid-1950s, James was marketed as an R&B and doo-wop singer. After signing with Chess Records in 1960, James broke through as a traditional pop-styled singer, covering jazz and pop music standards on her debut album, At Last! James's voice deepened and coarsened, moving her musical style in her later years into the genres of soul and jazz.
James was once considered one of the most overlooked blues and R&B musicians in the music history of the United States. It was not until the early 1990s, when she began receiving major industry awards from the Grammys and the Blues Foundation, that she received wide recognition. In recent years, she was seen as bridging the gap between rhythm and blues and rock and roll. James has influenced a wide variety of musicians, including Diana Ross, Christina Aguilera, Janis Joplin, Bonnie Raitt, Shemekia Copeland, and Hayley Williams of Paramore as well as British artists The Rolling Stones, Elkie Brooks, Paloma Faith, Joss Stone, Rita Ora, and Adele, and the Belgian singer Dani Klein.
Her song "Something's Got a Hold on Me" has been recognized in many ways. Brussels music act Vaya Con Dios covered the song on their 1990 album Night Owls. Another version, performed by Christina Aguilera, was in the 2010 film Burlesque. Pretty Lights sampled the song in "Finally Moving", followed by Avicii's dance hit "Levels", and again in FloRida's single "Good Feeling".

Anjos do Inferno foi um conjunto vocal e instrumental brasileiro de samba e marchinha de carnaval formado em 1934. O grupo teve diversas formações ao longo de uns 30 anos, mas mesmo assim conseguiu criar uma identidade sonora típica, devida principalmente ao pistom. O nome veio como ironia à orquestra Diabos do Céu, dirigida por Pixinguinha e muito popular nos anos 30.
O auge da carreira dos Anjos do Inferno foi nos anos 40, na época de ouro do rádio. Foram contratados pelas principais emissoras de rádio do Brasil, tocaram em cassinos e gravaram diversos sucessos de carnaval. conjunto excursionou pela América Latina e Estados Unidos, onde tocou com Carmen Miranda. No total os Anjos do Inferno gravaram uns 86 discos pelas gravadoras Columbia, Continental, Copacabana e RCA Victor.

"Theme from A Summer Place" is a song with lyrics by Mack Discant and music by Max Steiner, written for the 1959 film A Summer Place, which starred Sandra Dee and Troy Donahue. It was recorded for the film as an instrumental by Hugo Winterhalter. Originally known as the "Molly and Johnny Theme", the piece is not the main title theme of the film, but a secondary love theme for the characters played by Dee and Donahue.
Following its initial film appearance, the theme has been recorded by many artists in both instrumental and vocal versions, and has also appeared in a number of subsequent films and television programs. The best-known cover version of the theme is an instrumental version by Percy Faith and his orchestra that was a Number One hit for nine weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1960.
Howard Andrew Williams (December 3, 1927 – September 25, 2012) was an American singer. He recorded 43 albums in his career, of which 15 have been gold-certified and 3 platinum-certified. He was also nominated for six Grammy Awards. He hosted The Andy Williams Show, a television variety show, from 1962 to 1971, and numerous TV specials. The Andy Williams Show won three Emmy awards. The Moon River Theatre in Branson, Missouri, is named after the song for which he is best known—Johnny Mercer and Henry Mancini's "Moon River". He sold more than 100 million records worldwide, including more than 10 million certified units in the United States.
Williams was active in the music industry for 74 years until his death in 2012.
Building on his experience with Allen and some short-term variety shows in the 1950s, he became the star of his own weekly television variety show in the fall of 1962. Though canceled after 1963 due to low ratings, the show was then sponsored to make 12 weekly specials in the 1963–1964 season. This series, The Andy Williams Show, won three Emmy Awards for outstanding variety program. Among his series regulars were the Osmond Brothers. He gave up the variety show in 1971 while it was still popular, continuing with three specials per year. His Christmas specials, which appeared regularly until 1974 and intermittently from 1982 into the 1990s, were among the most popular of the genre. Williams recorded eight Christmas albums over the years and was known as "Mr. Christmas", due to his perennial Christmas specials and the success of "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year".
Williams hosted the most Grammy telecasts—seven consecutive shows—from the 13th Annual Grammy Awards in 1971 through to the 19th Awards in 1977. He returned to television with a syndicated half-hour series in 1976–77.
In the early 1970s, when the Nixon Administration attempted to deport John Lennon, Williams was an outspoken defender of the former Beatle's right to stay in the United States.
Williams is included in the montage of caricatures on the cover of Ringo Starr's 1973 album, Ringo.
