Lionel Brockman Richie Jr. (born June 20, 1949) is an American singer, songwriter, composer, multi-instrumentalist, record producer and actor. His recordings with the Commodores and in his solo career made him one of the most successful balladeers of the 1980s.
Beginning in 1968, Richie was a member of the funk and soul band the Commodores. The Commodores became established as a popular soul group; their first several albums had a danceable, funky sound, as in such tracks as "Machine Gun" and "Brick House". Over time, Richie wrote and sang more romantic, easy-listening ballads such as "Easy", "Three Times a Lady", "Still", and the breakup ballad "Sail On". Richie launched a solo career in 1982 and his 1982 debut solo album, Lionel Richie, contained three hit singles: the U.S. number-one song "Truly", and the top five hits "You Are" and "My Love". The album hit Nº. 3 on the music charts and sold over four million copies. His 1983 follow-up album, Can't Slow Down, sold over twice as many copies, propelling him into the first rank of international superstars. He also co-wrote the 1985 charity single "We Are the World" with Michael Jackson, which sold over 20 million copies.
Over the course of his career, Richie has sold over 90 million records worldwide, making him one of the world's best-selling artists of all time. He won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year for Can't Slow Down, and his other Grammy Awards include Producer of the Year (Non-Classical) in 1985 and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for "Truly" in 1983. Richie has also been nominated for two Golden Globe awards and won one. In 1982 he was nominated for Best Original Song for the film Endless Love. In 1986 he won the Golden Globe award for Best Original Song for "Say You, Say Me", featured in the film White Nights. The song also won the Academy Award for Best Original Song. In 2016, Richie received the Songwriters Hall of Fame's highest honor, the Johnny Mercer Award. He has served with Luke Bryan and Katy Perry as a judge for the singing competition American Idol since its move to ABC from the Fox network.
Thanks for the times that you've given me
The memories are all in my mind
And now that we've come to the end of our rainbow
There's something I must say out loud

You're once, twice, three times a lady
And I love you
Yes, you're once, twice, three times a lady
And I love you
I love you

You shared my dreams, my joys, my pains
You made my life worth living for
and if i had to live my, life over again
I spend each and every moment with you

You're once, twice, three times a lady
And I love you
Yes, you're once, twice, three times a lady
And I love you
I love you

When we are together, the moments I cherish
With every beat of my heart
To touch you, to hold you, to feel you, to need you
There's nothing to keep us apart

You're once, twice, three times a lady
And I love you

You're once, twice, three times a lady
And I love you
Yes, you're once, twice, three times a lady
I love you
I love you.

Easy lover
She'll get a hold on you believe it
She's like no other
Before you know it you'll be on your knees
She's an easy lover
She'll take your heart but you won't feel it
She's like no other
And I'm just trying to make you see

She's the kind of girl you dream of
Dream of keeping hold of
You'd better forget it
You'll never get it
She will play around and leave you
Leave you and deceive you
Better forget it
Oh you'll regret it

No you'll never change her, so leave it, leave it
Get out quick cos seeing is believing
It's the only way
You'll ever know

Easy lover
She'll get a hold on you believe it
Like no other
Before you know it you'll be on your knees
She's an easy lover
She'll take your heart but you won't feel it
She's like no other
And I'm just trying to make you see

You're the one that wants to hold her
Hold her and control her
You'd better forget it
You'll never get it
For she'll say there's no other
Till she finds another
Better forget it
Oh you'll regret it

And don't try to change her, just leave it, leave it
You're not the only one, ooh seeing is believing
It's the only way
You'll ever know, oh

No don't try to change her, just leave it, leave it
You're not the only one, ooh seeing is believing
It's the only way
You'll ever know, oh

She's an easy lover (she's a easy lover)
She'll get a hold on you believe it (get a hold on you)
(She's) like no other
Before you know it you'll be on your knees (you'll be down onyour knees)
She's an easy lover
She'll take your heart but you won't feel it (you won't feelit)
She's like no other
And I'm just trying to make you see (trying to make you see).

Che vuole questa musica,
Stasera,
Che mi riporta un poco
Del passato
La luna ci teneva
Compagnia,
Io ti sentivo mia, soltanto mia.
Soltanto mia!

Vorrei tenerti qui
Vicino a me
Adesso che fra noi
Non c'e' piu' nulla
Vorrei sentire ancor
Le tue parole,
Quelle parole che
Non sento più.

Il mondo intorno a noi
Non esisteva
Per la felicita
Che tu mi davi
Che me ne faccio ormai
Di tutti i giorni miei
Se nei miei giorni
Non ci sei più tu

Che vuole questa musica,
Stasera,
Che mi riporta un poco
Del passato
Che mi riporta
Un poco del tuo amore,
Che mi riporta
Un poco di te

Che me ne faccio ormai
Di tutti i giorni miei
Se nei miei giorni
Non ci sei piu' tu
Che vuole questa musica,
Stasera,
Che mi riporta un poco
Del passato

Che mi riporta
Un poco del tuo amore,
Che mi riporta
Un poco di te
Un poco di te!

ANNO: 2005

Muscoli d'oro, corone d'alloro
Canzoni d'amore per bimbi col frack
Musica seria, luce che varia
Pioggia che cade, vita che scorre
Cani randagi, cammelli e re magi

Rit:
Forse fa male eppure mi va
Di stare collegato
Di vivere di un fiato
Di stendermi sopra al burrone
Di guardare giù
La vertigine non è
Paura di cadere
Ma voglia di volare

Mi fido di te {x4}
Io mi fido di te
Ehi mi fido di te
Cosa sei disposto a perdere

Lampi di luce, al collo una croce
La dea dell'amore si muove nei jeans
Culi e catene, assassini per bene
La radio si accende su un pezzo funky
Teste fasciate, ferite curate
L'affitto del sole si paga in anticipo prego
Arcobaleno, più per meno meno

Rit
Mi fido di te {x3}
Cosa sei disposto a perdere
Mi fido di te {x2}
Io mi fido di te
Cosa sei disposto a perdere

Rabbia stupore la parte l'attore
Dottore che sintomi ha la felicità
Evoluzione il cielo in prigione
Questa non è un'esercitazione
Forza e coraggio
La sete il miraggio
La luna nell'altra meta
Lupi in agguato il peggio è passato

Rit
Mi fido di te {x3}
Cosa sei disposto a perdere
Eh mi fido di te
Mi fido di te {x3}
Cosa sei disposto a perdere.
