Azul celeste
Me ganhou no ato uma carona p’ra lua

Te arrastei
Estradas, desertos
Botecos abrindo e a gente rindo
Brindando cerveja
Como se fosse champanhe

Todos faróis me lembram seu olhos
Durmo a viajar entre lençóis
Seu corpo fica a dançar
No meio do nosso jantar
Luz de velas

Aventurar por toda cidade
A te procurar
Todos lugares
Pintam ciúmes na mesa de um bar
Mas você sente a começa a brincar
Diz: Fica frio, meu bem, é melhor relaxar
Palmeira no mar.

Não sei se o acaso quis brincar
Ou foi a vida que escolheu
Por ironia fez cruzar
O meu caminho com o seu

Eu nem queria mais sofrer
A agonia da paixão
Nem tinha mais o que esquecer
Vivia em paz, na solidão

Mas foi te encontrar
E o futuro chegou como um pressentimento
Meus olhos brilharam, brilharam
No escuro da emoção

Não sei se o acaso quis brincar
Ou foi a vida que escolheu
Por ironia fez cruzar
O seu caminho com o meu.
A SONG FOR MAMA
BOYZ II MEN

LABEL: motown
GENRE: SOUL
Year: 2011

"A Song for Mama" is the title of a number-one R&B single by the American R&B group Boyz II Men. The tune, which was written and produced by Babyface, served as the theme song to the 1997 motion picture Soul Food, and spent two weeks at number one on the US R&B chart. To date, it is their last top 10 pop hit, peaking at number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song also appears on the group's album Evolution.
Boyz II Men(pronounced boys to men) is an American R&B vocal group from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, best known for emotional ballads and a cappella harmonies. They are currently a trio composed of baritone Nathan Morris alongside tenors Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman. During the 1990s, Boyz II Men found fame on Motown Records as a quartet including bass Michael McCary, who left the group in 2003 due to multiple sclerosis .
During the 1990s, Boyz II Men gained international success. This began with the release of top 5 singles "Motownphilly" and "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday" in 1991, followed by the number one single "End of the Road" in 1992, which reached the top of charts worldwide. "End of the Road" set a new record for longevity, staying at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for thirteen weeks. Boyz II Men proceeded to break this record with the subsequent releases of "I'll Make Love to You" and "One Sweet Day" (with Mariah Carey), which, at fourteen and sixteen weeks respectively, each set new records for the total number of weeks at number one. "I'll Make Love to You" also topped the charts in Australia (for four weeks) and garnered international success.
Consequently, Boyz II Men is among the music industry's elite with regard to time spent at number one in Billboard history with 50 cumulative weeks, ranking fourth behind Presley, The Beatles, and Carey. Furthermore, when "On Bended Knee" took the number one spot away from "I'll Make Love to You", Boyz II Men became only the third artists ever (after The Beatles and Presley) to replace themselves at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. These achievements were enough to earn Boyz II Men recognition as Billboard magazine's biggest boy band during the period of 1987 to 2012.
Boyz II Men continue to perform worldwide, as a trio. Their most recent studio album, Under The Streetlight, was released in 2017.
In June 2017, a section of Broad Street (from Christian to Carpenter Streets) in Philadelphia was renamed "Boyz II Men Boulevard". This section of the street is near the High School for the Creative and Performing Arts, where the members once attended.
You taught me everything
And everything you've given me
I'll always keep it inside
You're the driving force
In my life, yeah
There isn't anything
Or anyone that I can be
And it just wouldn't feel right
If I didn't have you by my side
You were there for me
To love and care for me
When skies were grey
Whenever I was down
You were always there
To comfort me
And no one else can be
What you have been to me
You'll always be
You will always be the girl
In my life for all times

Mama
Mama you know I love you
(Oh you know I love you)
Mama
Mama
You're the queen of my heart
Your love is like
Tears from the stars
Mama I just want you to know
Lovin' you
Is like food to my soul

(Yes it is, yes it is, ohhh)
(Yes it is, yes it is, yes it is, oohh)
You're always there for me
Have always been around for me
Even when I was bad
You showed me
Right from my wrong
(Yes you did)
And you took up for me
When everyone was downin' me
You always did understand
You gave me strength to go on
There was so many times
Looking back
When I was so afraid
And then you come to me
And say
I can face anything
And no one else can do
What you have done for me
You'll always be
You will always be
The girl in my life
(Oooo, oohh)

Mama
Mama you know I love you
(Oh you know I love you)
Mama
Mama
You're the queen of my heart
Your love is like
Tears from the stars
Mama I just want you to know
Lovin' you
Is like food to my soul

Never gonna go
A day without you
Fill's me up
Just thinking about you
I'll never go a day
Without my mama

Mama
Mama you know I love you
(Oh you know I love you)
Mama
Mama
You're the queen of my heart
Your love is like
Tears from the stars
Mama I just want you to know
Lovin' you
Is like food to my soul

Lovin' you is like food to my soul, you are the food to my soul.

Up and down the puppies' hair
Fleas and ticks jump everywhere
'Cause of original sin
Down the hill fell Jack and Jill
And you came tumbling after
'Cause of original sin

Rip away the tears
Drink a hope to happy years
And you may find
A lifetime's passed you by

What would you say
Don't drop the big one
If you a monkey on a string
Don't cut my lifeline
If you a doggie on a chain
Don't bite the mailman
What would you say

I was there when the bear
Ate his head, thought it was a candy
Everyone goes in the end
Knock knock on the door
Who's it for? There's nobody in here
Look in the mirror, my friend

I don't understand at best
And cannot speak for all the rest
In the morning rise
A lifetime's passed me by

What would you say?
Don't drop the big one
If you a monkey on a string
Don't cut my lifeline
If you a doggie on a chain
Don't bite the mailman
What would you say?

Every dog has its day
Every day has its way
Of being forgotten
Mom, it's my birthday
What would you say?

And what could you say?
What would you say?

I was there when the bear
Ate his head, thought it was a candy
Everyone goes in the end
Knock knock on the door
Who's it for? There's nobody in here
Look in the mirror, my friend

I don't understand at best
And cannot speak for all the rest
In the morning rise
A lifetime's passed me by
What would you say?
