Maroon 5 is an American pop rock band from Los Angeles, California. It currently consists of lead vocalist Adam Levine, keyboardist and rhythm guitarist Jesse Carmichael, lead guitarist James Valentine, drummer Matt Flynn, keyboardist PJ Morton and multi-instrumentalist Sam Farrar. Original members Levine, Carmichael, bassist Mickey Madden, and drummer Ryan Dusick first came together as Kara's Flowers in 1994, while they were still in high school.
After self-releasing their independent album We Like Digging?, the band signed to Reprise Records and released the album The Fourth World in 1997. The album garnered a tepid response, after which the record label dropped the band and the members focused on college. In 2001, the band re-emerged as Maroon 5, pursuing a different direction and adding guitarist Valentine. The band signed with Octone Records, an independent record label with a separate joint venture relationship with J Records and released their debut album Songs About Jane in June 2002. Aided by the singles, "Harder to Breathe", "This Love" and "She Will Be Loved", the album peaked at number six on the Billboard 200 chart, and went quadruple platinum in 2005. In the same year, the band won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist. In 2006, Dusick left the band after suffering from serious wrist and shoulder injuries and was replaced by Matt Flynn.
The band's second álbum It Won't Be Soon Before Long, was released in May 2007. It debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart and the lead single "Makes Me Wonder", became the band's first number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2010, the band released the third álbum Hands All Over, to mixed reviews, re-releasing a year later to include the single "Moves like Jagger", which topped the Billboard Hot 100. In 2012, Carmichael left the group and was replaced by musician PJ Morton, as the band released the fourth album Overexposed, with the song "One More Night", topping the Billboard Hot 100 chart for nine consecutive weeks.
In 2014, Carmichael rejoined the band alongside Morton to record the fifth álbum V (pronounced: "five"), with the band signed to Interscope Records and Levine's own label 222 Records. Following the release of V, it reached number one on the Billboard 200. In 2016, Maroon 5 recruited their long-time collaborator Sam Farrar, as the band continued for the sixth studio álbum Red Pill Blues, which was released in November 2017. With the addition of Morton and Farrar, the band's lineup increased to seven members. The successful singles of both albums "Sugar" and "Girls Like You" peaked at numbers two and one on the Hot 100 chart respectively. Maroon 5 has sold more than 120 million records, making them one of the world's best-selling music artists.
Songs About Jane is the debut studio album by American pop rock band Maroon 5. The album was released on June 25, 2002 by Octone and J Records. It became a sleeper hit with the help of five singles that attained chart success, including the Billboard hit "Harder to Breathe" and international hits "This Love" and "She Will Be Loved".
The album was re-released on October 14, 2003, becoming a huge international commercial and critical success. It topped the album charts in Australia, France, New Zealand, the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom, and reached the top-ten in 17 other countries. At the end of 2004, the album reached the top-ten of the US Billboard 200 chart. It had sold nearly 2.7 million copies by the end of 2004, and over 5.1 million copies in the U.S. by August 2015. It has sold over 10 million copies worldwide as of 2007.
On June 5, 2012, the band released the album's 10th anniversary edition, to coincide with their fourth studio álbum Overexposed.

"Apologize" (also spelled "Apologise" internationally) is the debut single written by OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder for OneRepublic's debut album Dreaming Out Loud. It was released as the lead single of that album. A remix version was included on the Timbaland album, Shock Value, and on the deluxe version of Dreaming Out Loud.
The song was the biggest radio airplay hit in the history of the Mainstream Top 40 chart in North America, with 10,394 plays in one week, until its record was broken by Leona Lewis's "Bleeding Love", which was also co-written by Tedder. The song was a major hit internationally, reaching number one in 16 countries, including Australia, Austria, Canada, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Sweden, Turkey, and the Netherlands, as well as staying at number one for eight consecutive weeks on the Billboard Pop 100 chart. The song peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100, staying in the top-10 for 25 weeks, and spent 13 weeks at number one in Canada.
"Apologize" earned the band a Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals and was ranked number 50 on the list of the Billboard Hot 100's All-Time Top Songs list from the chart's first 50 years. It spent 25 consecutive weeks in the top 10, the longest stay there for any song since "Smooth" by Santana, which spent 30 weeks in 1999. It was also ranked number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 Songs of the Decade. It was OneRepublic's biggest hit single in the United States until "Counting Stars" was released in 2013.
OneRepublic is an American pop rock band formed in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in 2002. It consists of lead vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Ryan Tedder, guitarist Zach Filkins, guitarist Drew Brown, bassist and cellist Brent Kutzle, drummer Eddie Fisher and keyboardist Brian Willett. The band first achieved commercial success on Myspace as an unsigned act. In late 2002, after OneRepublic played shows throughout the Los Angeles area, several record labels approached the band with interest, but the band ultimately signed with Velvet Hammer, an imprint of Columbia Records. They made their first album with producer Greg Wells during the summer and fall of 2005 at his studio, Rocket Carousel, in Culver City, California. The album was originally scheduled for release on June 6, 2006, but the group was dropped by Columbia two months before the album came out. The lead single of that album, "Apologize", was released on April 30, 2006, on Myspace and received some recognition there, becoming number one on the Myspace charts.
In 2007, OneRepublic released their debut album, Dreaming Out Loud. Its lead single, "Apologize", was remixed by Timbaland, becoming a huge international success, reaching number one in sixteen countries and subsequently earning them a Grammy Award nomination. The second single, "Stop and Stare", mirrored its predecessor's success. The album was later certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The band's second album, Waking Up (2009), produced the singles "All the Right Moves", "Secrets", "Marchin On", and "Good Life", with the latter reaching the top ten of the US Billboard Hot 100.
OneRepublic's third album, Native (2013), became the band's first top ten album on the Billboard 200, and highest-charting album to date, charting at number four. The lead single, "If I Lose Myself", charted within the top ten in several countries, while the album's third single, "Counting Stars", became the band's most successful single in recent years, obtaining top-five placements in Australia, Canada, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand, the U.S., and the UK. This marks their highest charting single in the United Kingdom to date. It has also peaked at number 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100, matching their highest peak of "Apologize" in 2007.
On October 7, 2016, OneRepublic released Oh My My, their fourth studio album, which featured a number of collaborators, including Cassius, Peter Gabriel, and Santigold. Preceded by the singles "Wherever I Go", released on May 13, 2016, and "Kids", released on August 12, 2016, it was recognized as a change in their sound in contrast to previous albums by both critics and the band itself. In 2017, the band released the singles "No Vacancy", "Truth to Power", "Stranger Things" with Kygo and "Rich Love" with Seeb. To date, the band has sold approximately over 16 million records worldwide.

Zé Keti, nome artístico de José Flores de Jesus, (Rio de Janeiro, 6 de outubro de 1921 — Rio de Janeiro, 14 de novembro de 1999) foi um cantor e compositor do samba brasileiro.
Nascido em 16 de setembro de 1921, embora tenha sido registrado, em 6 de outubro, no bairro de Inhaúma, José Flores de Jesus ficou conhecido como Zé Keti. Em 1924, foi morar em Bangu na casa do avô, o flautista e pianista João Dionísio Santana, que costumava promover reuniões musicais em sua casa, das quais participavam nomes famosos da música popular brasileira como Pixinguinha, Cândido (Índio) das Neves, entre outros. Filho de Josué Vale da Cruz, um marinheiro que tocava cavaquinho, cresceu ouvindo as cantorias do avô e do pai. Após a morte do avô, em 1928, mudou-se para a Rua Dona Clara. Cantou o samba, as favelas, a malandragem e seus amores.
Ele começou a atuar na década de 1940, na ala dos compositores da escola de samba Portela. Entre 1940 e 1943, compôs sua primeira marcha carnavalesca: "Se o feio doesse". Em 1946, "Tio Sam no Samba" foi o primeiro samba de sua autoria gravado (pelo grupo Vocalistas Tropicais). Em 1951, obteve seu primeiro grande sucesso com o samba "Amor passageiro", parceria com Jorge Abdala gravado por Linda Batista na RCA. No mesmo ano, seu samba "Amar é bom", parceria com Jorge Abdala foi gravado na Todamérica pelos Garotos da Lua.
Em 1955, sua carreira começou a deslanchar quando seu samba "A voz do morro", gravada por Jorge Goulart e com arranjo de Radamés Gnattali, fez enorme sucesso na trilha do filme "Rio 40 graus", de Nelson Pereira dos Santos. Neste filme, trabalhou também como segundo assistente de câmera e ator. Outro sucesso na anos cinquenta, foi "Leviana", que também foi incluído no filme "Rio 40 Graus" (1955), de Nelson Pereira dos Santos, diretor com o qual trabalhou também no filme "Rio Zona Norte"(1957).
Máscara Negra é uma canção, em ritmo de marcha-rancho, composta por Zé Keti e Pereira Matos para o Carnaval de 1967.
Gravada pelo próprio Zé Keti e, depois, por Dalva de Oliveira (no álbum A Cantora do Brasil), a canção venceu o Primeiro Concurso de Músicas para o Carnaval, recém-criado pelo Conselho Superior de Música Popular Brasileira do Museu da Imagem e do Som do Rio de Janeiro, então presidido por Ricardo Cravo Albin.

Nara Lofego Leão (Vitória, 19 de janeiro de 1942 — Rio de Janeiro, 7 de junho de 1989) foi uma cantora, compositora e instrumentista brasileira.
Em 1970 volta atrás em sua decisão de encerrar a carreira de cantora e passa a fazer pequenos shows pela Europa. No início do ano descobre estar grávida, o que é uma grande felicidade para ela e seu marido, Cacá. Ela não estava planejando ter filhos tão cedo, pois ainda queria ter mais tempo para se dedicar a sua carreira. Em 28 de setembro de 1970, em Paris, onde o casal morava há alguns anos, nasceu a primeira filha de Cacá e Nara, Isabel Diegues. Em abril de 1971, Quando a filha completou 7 meses de vida, Nara descobre estar novamente grávida, o que é uma enorme surpresa e emoção a ela e Cacá.
Em 1º de janeiro de 1972, Nara e Cacá voltam a morar no Brasil, pois queriam ficar mais próximos da família, e a situação política do país já havia melhorado consideravelmente, não havendo mais risco de prisão de artistas. No dia 17 deste mesmo mês, no Rio, no bairro de Copacabana, nasce o segundo filho do casal: Francisco Leão Diegues.
Nara passa a gravar algumas músicas e participar de pequenos festivais. Não quer mais a agitação da carreira que antes tinha, e passa a se dedicar exclusivamente ao marido e aos filhos. Ainda em 1972 ela faz um dos papeis principais do filme musical de Cacá Diegues, Quando o Carnaval Chegar.
Em 1973 participa como atriz de alguns filmes e passa a fazer pequenos shows pelo Brasil. Neste ano, volta a estudar, e termina o último ano do colegial, atual ensino médio, antigo científico.
Em 1974, grava alguns discos e participa de festivais. Passou no vestibular de Psicologia na PUC-RJ. Ser psicóloga era um antigo desejo que possuía, e seguiria esta profissão, caso não fosse cantora. Agora que tinha diminuído seu ritmo de trabalho, passa a se dedicar aos estudos, filhos e casamento, sem deixar a música de lado. Nara planejava abandonar a música mas não chegou a deixar a profissão de cantora, apenas diminuindo o ritmo de trabalho e modificando o estilo dos espetáculos, pois considerava muito cansativa a vida de uma cantora, já que agora tinha uma família para se preocupar constantemente.
No ano de 1975 fez poucos trabalhos, gravando e lançando apenas um disco, que foi sucesso de vendas, o que a fez ganhar o troféu de Melhor Cantora do Ano.
Em 1976 não trabalhou, e tirou este ano para estudar e cuidar dos filhos, do marido e do lar. Em 1977 volta com força, lançando novos discos, viajando o Brasil e participando de espetáculos, fazendo novas amizades no ramo musical, que lhe abriram portas, gravando música de outros cantores, também escrevendo e compondo suas melodias, e se apresentando em rádio e TV, inclusive fora do país.
