Albert Cummings (born Williamstown, Massachusetts, United
States) is an American bluesmusician
who has recorded under Blind
Pig Records. He has played alongside B.B. King,
Johnny Winter,
and Buddy Guy.
Cummings started playing the five-string banjoat the
age of twelve when his father's guitarwas too big for his hands, and started learning basic chordsand progressions,
and became a fan of bluegrass music. In his late teens he encountered the early
recordings of Stevie Ray Vaughanand was floored by the virtuosity. While in college in 1987 he saw
Vaughan perform and he returned to the guitar with a new outlook and resolve. His
first public guitar performance came in 1997, when he played at his friends wedding reception.
In his late twenties he formed a band, Swamp Yankee, and in 1999 released an
independently produced album, The
Long Way. The trio spent two hours in a recording
studioto record the nine songs for the
album.

Tiago
Nacarato nasceu no Porto há cerca de 29 anos. Ele é um cantautor com raízes
brasileiras, tendo mantido um contacto com a música desde muito cedo.
Aos
18 anos inscreveu-se na escola de música da Valentim de Carvalho, onde teve
aulas de canto, guitarra, treino auditivo, teoria musical e combo. Durante esse
período surgiram as primeiras oportunidades, tendo sido convidado por Pedro
Cardoso (Peixe de Ornatos Violeta), então seu professor, para integrar uma
orquestra de guitarras e baixos elétricos, com este projeto esteve em palcos
como Serralves em Festa, Hard Club e Casa da Música.
Anos
depois ingressa na Orquestra Bamba Social enquanto vocalista que
assinala o seu regresso às raízes brasileiras, um projeto que junta músicos
luso-brasileiros residentes no Porto e que presta tributo a vários clássicos da
música brasileira, recriando-os e acrescentando novas sonoridades. Assim, emergiram
os temas Sorria e Cadé Cascais.
Tiago
Nacarato ficou conhecido do grande público através da sua participação na 5ª
edição do programa da RTP, The Voice Portugal, em 2017, tendo tido como mentora
Marisa Liz.
O
ano de 2018 para Tiago Nacarato ficou marcado pela apresentação em palco do seu
trabalho, com vários espetáculos em Portugal, tendo esgotado salas como o
grande auditório do Centro Cultural de Belém, em Lisboa e a Sala Suggia da Casa
da Música no Porto e o Convento São Francisco em Coimbra, entre outras.
O
final de 2018 ficou assinalado pela sua estreia no Brasil, com grande sucesso,
tendo atuado com salas esgotadas e com direito a sessão dupla em São Paulo, Rio
de Janeiro, Fortaleza e Belo Horizonte.
O
seu primeiro single, A Dança, foi editado em Abril de 2018 e em Novembro nascia
o seu segundo tema, Tempo, com a participação de Salvador Sobral.
Já
este ano foram editados os temas Sol de Inverno (não o de Jerónimo Bragança e
Nóbrega e Sousa mas o seu) em dueto com Paulinho Moska e Só Me
Apetece Dançar, com Ana Bacalhau.
O
seu primeiro disco, Lugar Comum, foi editado a 16 de setembro, em formato
digital e a 18 de Outubro em formato físico, tendo entrado diretamente para o
Top Nacional de Vendas.
A
sua canção A Dança esteve nomeada para o Globo de Ouro de A Melhor Canção de
2018.
A
canção A Dança integra a banda sonora da novela Golpe de Sorte e o
tema Só Me Apetece Dançar está na novela Terra Brava, ambas em
exibição na SIC:
Ainda
neste ano, este músico regressou ao Brasil para concertos em São Paulo, Rio de
Janeiro, Campinas e Nova Friburgo.

Novos
Baianos foi um conjunto musical brasileiro, nascido na Bahia, ativo em seu
auge entre os anos de 1969
e 1979, que se
reuniram em 1997 e
novamente em 2015. Eles
marcaram a música popular brasileira e até o rock
brasileiro dos anos 70, utilizando-se de vários ritmos musicais
brasileiros que vão de samba, bossa nova, frevo, baião, choro, afoxé
e ijexá ao rock
n' roll.
O
grupo lançou oito trabalhos antológicos para MPB. Influenciados pela contracultura
e pela emergente Tropicália. Contava, em sua formação original, com Moraes
Moreira (compositor, vocal e violão), Baby
do Brasil (vocal), Pepeu Gomes (guitarra), Paulinho Boca de Cantor (vocal), Dadi (baixo) e Luiz
Galvão (letras) entre outros.
O
segundo disco do grupo, Acabou Chorare, que mescla guitarra elétrica,
baixo e bateria com cavaquinho,
chocalho, pandeiro e agogô, foi
eleito pela revista Rolling Stone como o melhor
disco da história da música brasileira em outubro de 2007.

John Clayton Mayer (/ˈmeɪ.ər/MAY-ər; born October 16, 1977) is an American
singer-songwriter, guitarist, and record producer. Born in Bridgeport,
Connecticut, Mayer attended Berklee College of Musicin Boston, but
disenrolled and moved to Atlantain 1997 with Clay Cook.
Together, they
formed a short-lived two-man band called Lo-Fi Masters. After their split,
Mayer continued to play local clubs, refining his skills and gaining a
following. After his appearance at the 2001 South by Southwest Festival, he was
signed to Aware Records,
and then Columbia Records,
which released his first EPInside Wants Out.
His following two full-length albums—Room
for Squares(2001) and Heavier Things(2003)—did well commercially, achieving multi-platinumstatus. In
2003, he won the Grammy Award for Best Male Pop Vocal
Performancefor his single "Your Body Is a Wonderland".
By 2005, Mayer had moved away from the acoustic
music that characterized his early records, and begun performing the bluesand rock
music that had originally influenced him as a musician. He collaborated with
blues artists such as B. B. King,
Buddy Guy,
and Eric Clapton.
Forming the John Mayer Trio,
he released a live album, Try!,
in 2005 and his third studio album Continuumin 2006. Both albums
received positive reviews, and Continuum earned Mayer a 2007Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album.
He also won Best Male Pop Vocal Performancefor "Waiting on the World to Change".
That album was followed by Battle
Studiesin 2009, a return to pop, with a Battle Studies World Tour.
After having several controversial incidents
with the media, Mayer withdrew from public life in 2010 and began work on his
fifth studio album, Born and Raised, which drew inspiration from the
1970s pop music of Laurel Canyon. However, the discovery of a granulomaon his vocal cords delayed the release of the album until May 2012,
and forced him to cancel the planned tour. The album received a generally
favorable reception, though was less commercially successful than his previous
work. Mayer began performing as a singer again in January
2013, and that year released his sixth studio album, Paradise
Valley, which incorporates country musicinfluences. By 2014, he had sold a total of over 20 million albums
worldwide. His latest album, The Search for Everything, was
released in 2017.
In 2015, three former members of the Grateful Deadjoined with Mayer and two other musicians to form the band Dead & Company.
It is the latest of several reunionsof the band's surviving
members since Jerry Garcia's
death in 1995. The band remains active and its tours have been well received.
Mayer's secondary career pursuits extend to
television hosting, comedy, and writing; he has authored
columnsfor magazines such as Esquire.
He supports various
causes and has performed at charity benefits. He is a
watch aficionado (with a collection he values in the "tens of
millions" of dollars), contributing to the watch site Hodinkee, and has
been on the jury at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève.
Continuum is the third studio album by
American singer-songwriter John Mayer,
released on September 12, 2006, by Awareand Columbia Records.
Recording sessions took place from November 2005 to September 2006 at The
Village Recorderin Los Angeles, Avatar
Studios and Right Track/Sound on Sound in New York City, and Royal Studios in Memphis,
Tennessee. Produced by singer and drummer Steve
Jordan, it marked a change in Mayer's musical
style, incorporating elements of bluesand soulmore heavily than in his previous work with pop rock.
The album debuted at number 2 on the US Billboard 200,
selling more than 300,186 copies in its first week of sales. It also reached the top-10 of
several other countries and sold over 5 million copies worldwide. Upon
its release, Continuum received generally positive reviews from critics, and
earned Mayer several accolades, including a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Albumat the 49th
Grammy Awards. Rolling Stonenamed it the 11th best album of 2006 and in 2020, they ranked it
number 486 on its 2020 updated list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
