"When You Say Nothing at All" was released as the debut solo single by Irish singer-songwriter Ronan Keating. The song was recorded in 1999 for the soundtrack to the film Notting Hill and also appeared on Keating's debut solo album, Ronan. The song was released on July 26, 1999, in the United Kingdom. It peaked at number one in the UK, Ireland and New Zealand. In the UK, the single was certified gold.
In 2003, Keating re-recorded the song as a duet with Mexican singer Paulina Rubio in spanglish, which was released in Spain, Mexico and Latin America (excluding Brazil) to promote Keating's second studio album, Destination. In Brazil, Ronan chose the Brazilian singer Deborah Blando to re-record the song in English and English/Portuguese for the 10 Years Of Hits album exclusive for that country. A music video was recorded for this version with Deborah.

It's amazing how you can speak right to my heart
Without saying any word, you can light up the dark
Try as I may I can never explain
What I hear when you don't say a thing

The smile on your face
Lets me know that you need me
There's a truth in your eyes
Saying you'll never leave me
The touch of your hands
Says you'll catch me wherever I fall
You say it best when you say nothing at all

All day long I can hear people talking out loud
But when you hold me near
You drown out the crowd (drown out the crowd)
Try as they may they could never define
What's been said between your heart and mine

The smile on your face
Lets me know that you need me
There's a truth in your eyes
Saying you'll never leave me
The touch of your hand
Says you'll catch me wherever I fall
You say it best when you say nothing at all

(You say it best when you say nothing at all
You say it best when you say nothing at all)

The smile on your face
The truth in your eyes
The touch of your hand
Let's me know that you need me.

ALBUM: BEHIND CLOSED DOORS
LABEL: EPIC RECORDS
GENRE: COUNTRY
YEAR: 1973

Charles Allan Rich (December 14, 1932 – July 25, 1995) was an American country music singer, songwriter, and musician. His eclectic style of music was often difficult to classify, encompassing the rockabilly, jazz, blues, country, soul, and gospel genres.
In the later part of his life, Rich acquired the nickname the Silver Fox. He is perhaps best remembered for a pair of 1973 hits, "Behind Closed Doors" and "The Most Beautiful Girl". "The Most Beautiful Girl" topped the U.S. country singles charts, as well as the Billboard Hot 100 pop singles charts and earned him two Grammy Awards. Rich was inducted into the Memphis Music Hall of Fame in 2015.
"The Most Beautiful Girl" is a song recorded by Charlie Rich and written by Billy Sherrill, Norro Wilson, and Rory Bourke. The countrypolitan ballad reached number 1 in the United States in 1973 on three Billboard music charts: the pop chart (two weeks), the country chart (three weeks), and the adult contemporary chart (three weeks), as well as in Canada on three RPM charts: the RPM 100 Top Singles chart, the Country Tracks chart, and the Adult Contemporary chart. Billboard ranked it as the Nº. 23 song for 1974.
The song is actually a merging of two songs previously recorded by co-writer Wilson, "Hey Mister" (from 1968, which forms a major part of the song), and "Mama McCluskie,” used in part in the song’s chorus.
The B-side, his own "I Feel Like Going Home,” was later covered by Rita Coolidge and was released on her 1974 album Fall into Spring. British pop singer Engelbert Humperdinck covered "The Most Beautiful Girl" on his 1973 album Engelbert: King of Hearts.
"The Most Beautiful Girl" was also recorded by Slim Whitman in the 1970s. Andy Williams released a version in 1974 on his album The Way We Were. In 1975 ABBA singer Anni-Frid Lyngstad recorded a Swedish-language version called "Vill du låna en man?" (with Swedish lyrics by Stig Anderson) on her solo album Frida ensam. Sergio Franchi recorded the song on his 1976 DynaHouse album 20 Magnificent Songs. Country music boy band South 65 recorded an updated version of the song, titled "The Most Beautiful Girl (2001 Version),” on their 2001 album Dream Large.
The song receives a very brief airing by Brenda Fricker in the film So I Married an Axe Murderer. Jason Alexander offered a rendition as his character George Costanza on the December 16, 1992 episode of the sitcom Seinfeld titled "The Pick," where he bemoaned the loss of his girlfriend, Susan. The song is featured prominently in the 2018 horror film The Ranger.

Hey, did you happen to see the most beautiful girl in the world?
And if you did, was she crying, crying?
Hey, if you happen to see the most beautiful girl that walked out on me
Tell her I'm sorry
Tell her I need my baby
Oh, won't you tell her that I love her

Hey, did you happen to see the most beautiful girl in the world?
And if you did, was she crying, crying?
Hey, if you happen to see the most beautiful girl that walked out on me
Tell her I'm sorry
Tell her I need my baby
Oh, won't you tell her that I love her

I woke up this morning and realized what I had done
I stood alone in the cold gray dawn
I knew I'd lost my morning sun
I lost my head and I said some things
Now come the heartaches that morning brings
I know I'm wrong and I couldn't see
I let my world slip away from me
So

Hey, did you happen to see the most beautiful girl in theworld?
And if you did, was she crying, crying?
Hey, if you happen to see the most beautiful girl that walked out on me
Tell her I'm sorry
Tell her I need my baby
Oh, won't you tell her that I love her

If you happen to see the most beautiful girl that walked out on me
Tell her I'm sorry
Tell her I need my baby
Oh, won't you tell her that I love her.

So far, the song has had 66 million views on Facebook and more than two million on Youtube.
I didn't know today would be our last
Or that I'd have to say goodbye to you so fast
I'm so numb, I can't feel anymore
Prayin' you'd just walk back through that door

And tell me that I was only dreamin'
You're not really gone as long as I believe

There will be another angel
Around the throne tonight
Your love lives on inside of me
And I will hold on tight

It's not my place to question
Only God knows why
I'm just jealous of the angels
Around the throne tonight

You always made my troubles feel so small
And you were always there to catch me when I'd fall
In a world where heroes come and go
Well God just took the only one I know

So I'll hold you as close as I can
Longing for the day, when I see your face again
But until then

God must need another angel
Around the throne tonight
Your love lives on inside of me
And I will hold on tight

It's not my place to question
Only God knows why
I'm just jealous of the angels
Around the throne tonight

Singin' hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

I'm just jealous of the angels
Around the throne tonight

She was still on my mind when I crossed the state line
Walked out a little too fast
I said some things that I didn't mean
And I should have taken 'em back
And I knew when I said 'em that voice in my head whispered
Man when are you gonna learn
You told her goodbye you left with your pride
But you're gonna eat those words

And now I'm havin' breakfast in Birmingham
Tryin' to swallow my pride
I got a plate full of memories
And not much appetite
There ain't nothin' like a cold cup of coffee and a stale apology
I'm having breakfast in Birmingham
She's in Tennessee

It's a thunderin' sound silver droppin' down
In an ol' pay phone
When you're makin' that call to say you were wrong
And it's ringin' like nobody's home
She's not the kind who'll cry and remind me
That I left and broke her heart
I'm prayin' she answer 'cause I gotta tell her
This time I went too far

And now I'm havin' breakfast in Birmingham
Tryin' to swallow my pride
I got a plate full of memories
And not much appetite
There ain't nothin' like a cold cup of coffee and a stale apology
I'm having breakfast in Birmingham
She's in Tennessee.
