Just a smile and the rain is gone
Can hardly believe it (yeah)
There's an angel standing next to me
Reaching for my heart

Just a smile and there's no way back
Can hardly believe it (yeah)
But there's an angel calling me
Reaching for my heart

I know, that I'll be ok now
This time it's real

I lay my love on you
it's all I wanna do
Every time I breathe
I feel brand new
you open up my heart
Show me all your love, and walk right through
As I lay my love on you

I was lost in a lonely place
Could hardly believe it (yeah)
Holding on to yesterday
Far, far too long

Now I believe it's ok cause
This time it's real

I lay my love on you
It's all I wanna do
Every time I breathe
I feel brand new
You open up my heart
Show me all your love, and walk right through (oh,yeah)
As I lay my love on you

I never knew that love could feel so good
Like a once in a lifetime
You change my world

I... I lay my love on you
You... You make me feel brand new
Show me your love, and walk right through (oh, yeah)
As I lay my love on you

I lay my love on you
It's all I wanna do
Every time I breathe
I feel brand new
You open up my heart
Show me all your love, and walk right through
As I lay my love, I lay my love on you

I lay my love on you
You.. You make me feel brand new
You open up my heart
Show me all your love, and walk right through (oh, yeah)
As I lay my love on you
As I lay my love on you.

I might be anyone
A lone fool out in the sun
Your heartbeat of solid gold
I love you, you'll never know

When the daylight comes you feel so cold
You know
I'm too afraid of my heart to let you go

Waiting to the fire to light
Feeling like we could do right
Be the one that makes tonight
'Cause freedom is a lonely road
We're under control

We're under control
I might be anyone
A lone fool out in the sun
Your heartbeat of solid gold
I love you, you'll never know

When the daylight comes you feel so cold
You know
I'm too afraid of my heart to let you go

Waiting to the fire to light
Feeling like we could do right
Be the one that makes tonight
'Cause freedom is a lonely road
We're under control

Waiting to the fire to light
Feeling like we could do right
Be the one that makes tonight
'Cause freedom is a lonely road
We're under control.

SONGWRITERS: STEVEN DALE JONES & BOBBY WAYNE TOMBERLIN
COUNTRY: U. S. A.
ALBUM: ONE MORE DAY
LABEL: ARISTA NASHVILLE
GENRE: COUNTRY MUSIC
YEAR: 2001

Diamond Rio is an American country music band. The band was founded in 1982 as an attraction for the Opryland USA theme park in Nashville, Tennessee, and was originally known as the Grizzly River Boys, then the Tennessee River Boys. It was founded by Matt Davenport, Danny Gregg, and Ty Herndon, the last of whom became a solo artist in the mid-1990s. After undergoing several membership changes in its initial years, the band has consisted of the same six members since 1989: Marty Roe (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Gene Johnson (mandolin, guitar, fiddle, tenor vocals), Jimmy Olander (lead guitar, banjo), Brian Prout (drums), Dan Truman (keyboards), and Dana Williams (bass guitar, baritone vocals).
After assuming the name Diamond Rio, the band was signed to Arista Nashville and debuted in 1991 with the single "Meet in the Middle", which made them the first band ever to send a debut single to Nº 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. The band charted 32 more singles between then and 2006, including four more that reached Nº 1: "How Your Love Makes Me Feel" (1997), "One More Day"(2001), "Beautiful Mess"(2002), and "I Believe"(2003).
Diamond Rio has recorded nine studio albums, four Greatest Hits compilations, and an album of Christmas music. Three of the band's albums have achieved RIAA platinum certification in the United States. In addition, Diamond Rio has received four Group of the Year awards from the Country Music Association, two Top Vocal Group awards from the Academy of Country Music, and one Grammy Award. The band is known for its vocal harmonies, varied instrumentation, and near-exclusive use of only its own membership on recordings instead of session musicians. Their sound was originally defined by mainstream country, bluegrass, and rock influences, but later albums drew more influence from Christian country music and country pop.
"One More Day" is a song written by Bobby Tomberlin and Steven Dale Jones, and recorded by American country music group Diamond Rio. It was released in October 2000 as the second single and title track from their álbum One More Day, in addition to gaining popularity after the death of NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt. The song reached the top of the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks (now Hot Country Songs) chart. It peaked at number 29 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it a minor crossover hit. After falling from the charts, it received heavy recurrent rotation as a tribute to the people who died in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
Last night I had a crazy dream
A wish was granted just for me
It could be for anything
I didn't ask for money
Or a mansion in Malibu
I simply wished for one more day with you

One more day, one more time
One more sunset, maybe I'd be satisfied
But then again, I know what it would do
Leave me wishing still for one more day with you
One more day

First thing I'd do is pray for time to crawl
I'd unplug the telephone and keep the TV off
I'd hold you every second
Say a million I love you's
That's what I'd do with one more day with you

One more day, one more time
One more sunset maybe I'd be satisfied
But then again I know what it would do
Leave me wishing still for one more day with you

One more day, one more time
One more sunset maybe I'd be satisfied
But then again I know what it would do
Leave me wishing still for one more day
Leave me wishing still for one more day
Leave me wishing still for one more day with you

One more day (one more day).

No baby, no baby, yeah

You never knew how much you hurt me, baby
You never cared how much I cried
Baby, I gave my heart to you, you just walked away
Now you've come back and now you wanna stay

But you're never gonna make me cry again, again
And you're never gonna break my heart again
Like you did, then
No, you're never gonna make me cry
No, you're never gonna break my heart again

What made you think that I'd forgive you, baby?
What made you think that I'd forget?
Thought you could walk back in my world
But I've closed the door
I can't let you in, baby, anymore

And you're never gonna make me cry again, again
And you're never gonna break my heart again
Like you did, yeah, then
No, you're never gonna make me cry
No, you're never gonna break my heart again, oh

You've had your last one more chance
There's no more for you, baby
So don't knock on my door
You're not welcome no more

And you're never gonna make me cry again, ho no
Oh, you're never gonna break my heart again
Like you did, baby, no, no, no, no

Never gonna make me cry, make me cry again
And you're never gonna break my heart again
Just like you did, baby, then, yeah
No, you're never gonna make me cry
You're never gonna break my heart again

Never gonna break my heart
Never gonna break my heart
Oo, my heart

I've closed the door
You're not welcome anymore, baby
Oh baby, oh baby

Never gonna break my heart
Never gonna break my heart
Oo, my heart

I've closed the door
You're not welcome anymore, baby.
