The Beatles were an English rock band formed in Liverpool in 1960. The group, whose best-known line-up comprised John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, are regarded as the most influential band of all time. They were integral to the development of 1960s counterculture and popular music's recognition as an art form. Rooted in skiffle, beat and 1950s rock and roll, their sound incorporated elements of classical music and traditional pop in innovative ways; the band later explored music styles ranging from ballads and Indian music to psychedelia and hard rock. As pioneers in recording, songwriting and artistic presentation, the Beatles revolutionised many aspects of the music industry and were often publicised as leaders of the era's youth and sociocultural movements.
Led by primary songwriters Lennon and McCartney, the Beatles built their reputation playing clubs in Liverpool and Hamburg over three years from 1960, initially with Stuart Sutcliffe playing bass. The core trio of Lennon, McCartney and Harrison, together since 1958, went through a succession of drummers, including Pete Best, before asking Starr to join them in 1962. Manager Brian Epstein moulded them into a professional act, and producer George Martin guided and developed their recordings, greatly expanding their domestic success after their first hit, "Love Me Do", in late 1962. As their popularity grew into the intense fan frenzy dubbed "Beatlemania", the band acquired the nickname "the Fab Four", with Epstein, Martin and other members of the band's entourage sometimes given the informal title of "fifth Beatle".
By early 1964, the Beatles were international stars, leading the "British Invasion" of the United States pop market, breaking numerous sales records, and inspiring Britain's cultural resurgence. They soon made their film debut with A Hard Day's Night(1964). From 1965 onwards, they produced records of greater complexity, including the albums Rubber Soul(1965), Revolver(1966) and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band(1967), and enjoyed further commercial success with The Beatles(also known as "the White Album", 1968) and Abbey Road(1969). Heralding the album era, their success elevated the album to be the dominant form of record consumption over singles; they also inspired a greater public interest in psychedelic drugs and Eastern spirituality, and furthered advancements in electronic music, album art and music videos. In 1968, they founded Apple Corps, a multi-armed multimedia corporation that continues to oversee projects related to the band's legacy. After the group's break-up in 1970, all four members enjoyed success as solo artists. Lennon was shot and killed in 1980, and Harrison died of lung cancer in 2001. McCartney and Starr remain musically active.
A Hard Day's Night is the third studio album by the English rock band the Beatles, released on 10 July 1964 by Parlophone, with side one containing songs from the soundtrack to their film of the same name. The American version of the album was released two weeks earlier, on 26 June 1964 by United Artists Records, with a different track listing. In contrast to the Beatles' first two albums, all 13 tracks on A Hard Day's Night were written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, showcasing the development of their songwriting partnership.
The album includes the song "A Hard Day's Night", with its distinctive opening chord, and "Can't Buy Me Love", both transatlantic number-one singles for the band. Several of the songs feature George Harrison playing a Rickenbacker 12-string electric guitar, a sound that was influential on the Byrds and other groups in the folk rock movement.

I give her all my love
That's all I do
And if you saw my love
You'd love her, too
I love her

She gives my everything
And tenderly
The kiss my lover brings
She brings to me
And I love her

A love like ours
Could never die
As long as I
Have you near me

Bright are the stars that shine
Dark is the sky
I know this love of mine
Will never die
And I love her

Bright are the stars that shine
Dark is the sky
I know this love of mine
Will never die
And I love her.

SAY YOU LOVE ME

Say you love me to my face
I need it more than your embrace
Just say you want me, that's all it takes
Heart's getting torn from your mistakes

'Cause I don't wanna fall in love
If you don't wanna try
But all that I've been thinking of
Is maybe that you might
And babe, it looks as though we're running out of words to say
And love's floating away

Just say you love me, just for today
And don't give me time 'cause that's not the same
Want to feel burning flames when you say my name
Want to feel passion flow into my bones
Like blood through my veins

'Cause I don't wanna fall in love
If you don't wanna try
But all that I've been thinking of
Is maybe that you might
And babe, it looks as though we're running out of words to say
And love's floating away

Won't you stay
Won't you stay
Slowly, slowly you run for me
But do you know me at all
Some one told me love controls everything
But only if you know

'Cause I don't wanna fall in love
(No no no no)
If you don't wanna try
(Could you try some time)
'Cause all that I've been thinking of
(I just think)
Is maybe that you might
(You might)

'Cause I don't wanna fall in love
If you don't wanna try
But all that I've been thinking of
Is maybe that you might
And babe, it looks as though we're running out of words to say
And love's floating away
Won't you stay
Won't you stay.

WHEN WILL I SEE YOU AGAIN

Shooting stars never fly for me
My heart's on Mars, kinda hard to see
But you know, you know I'll see you again
You know, you know I'll see you again

Shooting stars never fly for me
My heart's on Mars, kinda hard to see
But you know, you know I'll see you again
You know, you know I'll see you again

Feel it in the sunrise
Even in the nighttime
It's hard to adjust now
'Cause you ain't around
Do they treat you real nice?
How'd you like the new town?
Hard to adjust now
'Cause you ain't around, yeah

When will I see you, see you, see you again?
(See you again)
I just wanna hold your hand
(I just wanna hold your hand, yeah)
When will I see you, see you, see you again?
(See you again)
I just wanna hold your hand
(I just wanna hold your hand, oh)

Feel it in the sunrise
Even in the nighttime
If I was around more
Where would you be now?
(Ohh)

Stressin' out my own mind
(Stressin' out my own mind)
Crying I've got no time
(Crying I've got no time)
It's hard to adjust, now
'Cause you ain't around
('Cause you ain't around)
Yeah

When will I see you, see you, see you again
(See you again)
I just wanna hold your hand
(I just wanna)
I just wanna hold your
When will I see you, see you, see you again?
(See you again)
Ohh
I just wanna hold your hand
(I just wanna hold your hand)

Another day
(Woah, woah, yeah)
Another day, another da-ay
(Woah, woah, yeah)
Another day, another da-ay
(Woah, woah, yeah)
Another day, another da-ay
(Woah, woah, yeah)
(I just wanna hold your hand)
Another day

I'll see you again, I'll see you again
I'll see you again, I'll see you again

Shooting stars never fly for me
My heart's on Mars, kinda hard to see
But you know, you know I'll see you again
You know, you know I'll see you again

When will I see you, see you, see you again
(See you again)
I just wanna hold your hand
(I just wanna)
I just wanna hold your hand
When will I see you, see you, see you again?

Another da-ay

PART TIME LOVER

STEVIE WONDER
SONGWRITER: STEVIE WONDER
COUNTRY: U. S. A.
ALBUM: SQUARE CIRCLE
LABEL: TAMLA
GENRE: R & B
YEAR: 1985

"Part-Time Lover" is a single by American R&B singer and songwriter Stevie Wonder, from his 1985 album In Square Circle. The song reached number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, R&B, dance, and adult contemporary charts, becoming Wonder's final number one hit to date. The song's simultaneous chart successes made Wonder the first artist to score a number-one hit on four diferente Billboard charts. The song was also released as a special 12" version. Lyrically, it tells the story of a man who is cheating on his wife with a mistress, only to find out in the end that his wife is cheating on him as well.
"Part-Time Lover" also reached number three on the UK Singles Chart thanks in large part to a performance by Wonder on Top of the Pops in late 1985.
The song featured R&B singer Luther Vandross singing the ad-libs and backing vocals, in addition to Syreeta Wright and Philip Bailey of Earth, Wind and Fire. Wonder earned a Grammy Award nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance in 1986, for the song. Wonder is noted in the liner notes of the 4-CD set Hitsville USA: The Motown Singles Collection Volume 2 1972-1992 as describing the music for the song as an ode to "You Can't Hurry Love" and "My World Is Empty Without You", both by the Supremes, former Motown labelmates of Wonder.

Call up, ring once, hang up the phone
To let me know you made it home
Don't want nothing to be wrong with my part-time lover

If she's with me I'll blink the lights
To let you know tonight's the night
For me and you, my part-time lover

We are undercover passion on the run
Chasing love up against the sun
We are strangers by day, lovers by night
Knowing it's so wrong, but feeling so right

If I'm with friends and we should meet
Just pass me by, don't even speak
Know the word's discreet when part-time lovers

But if there's some emergency
Have a male friend to ask for me
So then she won't peek its really you, my part-time lover
We are undercover passion on the run
Chasing love up against the sun
We are strangers by day, lovers by night
Knowing it's so wrong, but feeling so right

We are undercover passion on the run
Chasing love up against the sun
We are strangers by day, lovers by night
Knowing it's so wrong, but feeling so right

I've got something that I must tell
Last night someone rang our doorbell
And it was not you, my part-time lover

And then a man called our Exchange
But didn't want to leave his name
I guess that two can play the game
Of part-time lovers

You and me, part-time lovers
But, she and he, part-time lovers.
