WHEN WILL SEE YOU AGAIN

THE 3 DEGREES
SONGWRITERS: LEON HUFF & KENNY GAMBLE
COUNTRY: U. S. A.
ALBUM: THE THREE DEGREES
LABEL: PHILADELPHIA INTERNATIONAL
GENRE: SOUL
YEAR: 1974

"When Will I See You Again" is a song released in 1974 by American soul group The Three Degrees, from their third album The Three Degrees. The song was written and produced by Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff. Sheila Ferguson sang the lead, accompanied by Fayette Pinkney and Valerie Holiday. Billboard named the song #67 on their list of 100 Greatest Girl Group Songs of All Time.
Sheila Ferguson recalled that "the song was played to me by Kenny Gamble at the piano in 1973 and I threw a tantrum. I screamed and yelled and said I would never sing it. I thought it was ridiculously insulting to be given such a simple song and that it took no talent to sing it. We did do it and several million copies later, I realized that he knew more than me." She would later have a #60 hit with a solo remake of the track in 1994. The song is unique in that every sentence is a question, heightening the overall effect and emotion. The Three Degrees performed the song at Prince Charles' 30th birthday party at Buckingham Palace in 1978.
Hoo, hah
Hah, hoo
Precious moments

When will I see you again?
When will we share precious moments?
Will I have to wait forever?
Will I have to suffer (suffer)
And cry the whole night through?

When will I see you again?
When will our hearts beat together?
Are we in love or just friends?
Is this my beginning or is this the end?
(Is this the end?)

When will I see you again
When will I see you again
When will I see you again

Hah, hoo
Precious moments

Are we in love or just friends?
Is this my beginning or is this the end?
(Is this the end?)

When will I see you again?
When will I see you again?
Sweet sweet love of mine
(When will I see you again?)
Come, come
(When will I see you again?)
Tell me, yeah
(When will I see you again?)
My sweet lover, yeah
(When will I see you again?)
Ooh yeah
(When will I see you again?)
Come on, come on
(When will I see you again?)
(When will I see you again?)
Ooh yeah
(When will I see you again?).

From this moment life has begun
From this moment you are the one
Right beside you is where I belong
From this moment on

From this moment, I have been blessed
I live only, for your happiness
And for your love, I give my last breath
From this moment on

I give my hand to you with all my heart
I can't wait to live my life with you I can't wait to start
You and I will never be apart
My dreams came true because of you

From this moment, as long as I live
I will love you, I promise you this
There is nothing, I wouldn't give
From this moment on.

You're the reason I believe in love
And you're the answer to my prayers from up above
All we need is just the two of us
My dreams came true because of you

From this moment, as long as I live
I will love you, I promise you this
There is nothing, I wouldn't give
From this moment, I will love you
As long as I live from this moment on.

Have you got colour in your cheeks?
Do you ever get that fear that you can't shift
The type that sticks around like summat in your teeth?
Are there some aces up your sleeve?
Have you no idea that you're in deep?
I've dreamt about you nearly every night this week
How many secrets can you keep?
'Cause there's this tune I found
That makes me think of you somehow
And I play it on repeat
Until I fall asleep
Spilling drinks on my settee

(Do I wanna know)
If this feeling flows both ways?
(Sad to see you go)
Was sorta hoping that you’d stay
(Baby, we both know)
That the nights were mainly made
For saying things that you can’t say tomorrow day

Crawling back to you
Ever thought of calling when you've had a few?
'Cause I always do
Maybe I'm too busy being yours to fall for somebody new
Now, I've thought it through
Crawling back to you

So have you got the guts?
Been wondering if your heart's still open
And if so, I wanna know what time it shuts
Simmer down and pucker up
I'm sorry to interrupt, it's just I'm constantly on the cusp
Of trying to kiss you
I don't know if you feel the same as I do
But we could be together if you wanted to

(Do I wanna know)
If this feeling flows both ways?
(Sad to see you go)
Was sorta hoping that you’d stay
(Baby, we both know)
That the nights were mainly made
For saying things that you can’t say tomorrow day

Crawling back to you (crawling back to you)
Ever thought of calling when you've had a few? (You've had a few?)
'Cause I always do ('cause I always do)
Maybe I'm too (maybe I'm too busy)
Busy being yours (being yours)
To fall for somebody new
Now, I've thought it through
Crawling back to you
(Do I wanna know)
If this feeling flows both ways?
(Sad to see you go)
Was sorta hoping that you’d stay
(Baby, we both know)
That the nights were mainly made
For saying things that you can’t say tomorrow day

(Do I wanna know?)
Too busy being yours to fall
(Sad to see you go)
Ever thought of calling, darling?
(Do I wanna know?)
Do you want me crawling back to you?

LOVER COME BACK

CITY AND COLOUR
SONGWRITER: DALLAS GREEN
COUNTRY: CANADA
ALBUM: IF I SHOULD GO BEFORE YOU
LABEL: DINE ALONE RECORDS
GENRE: FOLK ROCK
YEAR: 2015

Green began releasing City and Colour songs on the internet for fans to download. Eventually, he compiled and rewrote several of these songs to make his first album, Sometimes. The full-length debut was released on November 1, 2005, to a good reception, described by one reviewer as "dynamically gentle and vulnerable". The cover art was designed by Scott McEwan, in a tattoo-esque style; Green "still may decide to have some of them inked at a later point in time".
Green indicated that his view that the "best music for [him] is sad music", influenced the type of songs he created. He also said that he "love[s] music to sort of escape to" and the idea of sad music that people could identify with. Green said of the album that, "a lot of those songs are written on some of the experiences I've been through and stuff and that's just how I deal with it. I just write songs when I'm bummed out and I feel happier." Sometimes won the 2007 Juno award for Alternative Album of the Year.
If I Should Go Before You is the fifth studio album by City and Colour. It was released on October 9, 2015, through Dine Alone Records. The release was City and Colour's third consecutive studio album to reach Nº 1 on the Canadian Albums Chart.

Bound for trouble from the start
I've been walking through this old world in the dark
All along right by my side
There you were shining, my ray of light

I sing lover come back, lover come back to me
Won't you ever come back, ever come back to me
How could I have been so foolish to let you leave
Lover come back, lover come back to me

I'll never be as good as I'd like to be
Eternally restless refusing to believe
But I think that we missed our connection
I wanted to feel your affection
Until my final days

I sing lover come back, lover come back to me
Won't you ever come back, ever come back to me
How could I have been so foolish to let you leave
Lover come back, lover come back to me

I am warm enough yet I still shiver
I am fed but still I starve
You know me I am the great misgiver
Always waiting on the clouds to part

I sing lover come back, lover come back to me
Won't you ever come back back, ever come back to me
How could I have been so foolish to let you leave
So lover come back, lover come back to me

Lover come back, lover come back to me
Won't you ever come back, ever come back to me
How could I have been so foolish to let you leave
So lover come back, lover come back to me.
