MAGIC
MICHAEL LEARNS TO ROCK
SONGWRITER: SØREN MADSEN & ASHLEY MULFORD
COUNTRY: DENMARK
ALBUM: NOTHING TO LOSE
LABEL: MLTR MUSIC
GENRE: SOFT ROCK
YEAR: 1997

Nothing to Lose is the fourth studio album of the Danish soft rock band Michael Learns to Rock. It was released on September 12, 1997 by Medley Records in Denmark. Like the previous album, Played on Pepper(1995), it was mainly produced by the band itself. Guitar player Mikkel Lentz said the band programmed new beats during the mixing process as they wanted to experiment a bit more with this album. While the band's previous albums relied heavily on soft rock ballads, Nothing to Lose also contains a rockier sound intended to suit the European market. Bass guitar player Søren Madsen debuts as songwriter on the track "Magic".
In Denmark, Nothing to Lose sold 25.000 copies on the day of release. In May 1998, the album had sold 500.000 copies worldwide, with 70.000 copies being sold in Denmark.
The fourth single, "I'm Gonna Be Around" was re-produced by Per Magnusson and David Kreuger for its single release. The song was "written especially for the United States" according to lead singer Jascha Richter. It was later included on the compilation álbum MLTR(1999).

I see you movin around in the light
Been watching you for a while
I don't know what's inside of your mind
But it's lightning when I look in your eyes

I never trusted in miracles
I never looked in the stars
But when I see an angel on earth
That makes my heart sing
I believe in anything

Cos there's magic in the way you walk
Something special in the way you talk
This is real this is true
I've got the faith in you

Chorus:
La la la la...la la la
Every little thing you do
Becomes magic

You gotta stop this feeling of burning desire
From slowly driving me mad
So bring me in from the cold with your love
I'm never gonna stop
I'm never gonna give you up

Cos there's magic in the way you walk
Something special in the way you talk
This is real this is true
I've got the faith in you

Chorus:
La la la la...la la la
Every little thing you do
Becomes magic.

HERVÉ VILARD
COMPOSITEUR: HERVÉ VILLARD
PAYS: FRANCE
ALBUM: Nº 2
RECORD: MERCURY RECORDS
GENRE: CHANSON

Round and round like a horse on a carousel, we go
Will I catch up to love? I could never tell, I know
Chasing after you is like a fairytale, but I
Feel like I'm glued on tight to this carousel

Come, come one, come all
You must be this tall
To ride this ride at the carnival

Oh, come, take my hand
And run though playland
So high, too high at the carnival

And it's all fun and games
'Til somebody falls in love
But you've already bought a ticket
And there's no turning back now

Round and round like a horse on a carousel, we go
Will I catch up to love? I could never tell, I know
Chasing after you is like a fairytale, but I
Feel like I'm glued on tight to this carousel

This horse is too slow
We're always this close
Almost, almost, we're a freakshow

Right, right when I'm near
It's like you disappeared
Where'd you go? Mr. Houdini, you're a freakshow

And it's all fun and games
'Til somebody falls in love
But you've already bought a ticket
And there's no turning back now

Round and round like a horse on a carousel, we go
Will I catch up to love? I could never tell, I know
Chasing after you is like a fairytale, but I
Feel like I'm glued on tight to this carousel

Why did you steal my cotton candy heart?
You threw it in this damn coin slot
And now I'm stuck, I'm stuck
Riding, riding, riding

Round and round like a horse on a carousel, we go
Will I catch up to love? I could never tell, I know
Chasing after you is like a fairytale, but I
Feel like I'm glued on tight to this carousel.

Lately I'm getting lost on you
You got me doing things I never thought I'd do
Never spent so long on a losing battle
But lately giving up don't seem to matter

Everyday I'm a slave to the heartache
And you're wasting away every night
I don't wanna leave you lonely
But I've run out of love this time
You know that I adore you
Though I couldn't give enough
Hope you'll be safe in the arms of another
'Cause I can't take the weight of your love

Lately I'm getting lost on you
I tore your world apart like it was nothing new
Never bled so much when I didn't have to
I'm given up on a life lived after

Everyday I'm a slave to the heartache
And you're wasting away every night
I don't wanna leave you lonely
But I've run out of love this time
You know that I adore you
Though I couldn't give enough
Hope you'll be safe in the arms of another
'Cause I can't take the weight of your love

I had a hold on your soul
But I lost my grip, let you go
I should've carried us both

Everyday I'm a slave to the heartache
And you're wasting away every night
Don't wanna leave you lonely
But I've run out of love this time
You know that I adore you
Though I couldn't give enough
Hope you'll be safe in the arms of another
'Cause I can't take the weight of your love
Of your love
Hope you'll be safe in the arms of another
'Cause I can't take the weight of your love.
