      Haydée Mercedes Sosa(San Miguel de Tucumán, Tucumán, 9 de julio de 1935-Buenos Aires, 4 de octubre de 2009) fue una cantante de música folclórica argentina, considerada la mayor exponente del folklore argentino. Se la conoció como la voz de América Latina.

           Fundadora del Movimiento del Nuevo Cancionero y una de las exponentes de la Nueva Canción Latinoamericana. Incursionó en otros géneros como el tango, el rock y el pop. Se definía a sí misma como «cantora» antes que «cantante», siendo una distinción fundamental de la nueva canción latinoamericana de la que ella fue una de las iniciadoras: «Cantante es el que puede y cantor el que debe» (Facundo Cabral).

        Ese ideal fue expresado por Mercedes Sosa en los títulos de álbumes como Canciones con fundamento y Yo no canto por cantar. Entre las interpretaciones con que se ha destacado en el cancionero latinoamericano se encuentran «Al Jardín de la República», «Canción con todos», «Alfonsina y el mar», «Como la cigarra», «Zamba para no morir», «Solo le pido a Dios», «La maza», «Todo cambia», «Duerme negrito» y «Calle angosta».

      Entre sus discos se destacaron Canciones con fundamento(1965), Yo no canto por cantar(1966), Mujeres argentinas (1969), Homenaje a Violeta Parra(1971), Cantata sudamericana(1972), Mercedes Sosa interpreta a Atahualpa Yupanqui (1977), Mercedes Sosa en Argentina(1982), Alta fidelidad(1997), su interpretación de la Misa criolla(2000) y Cantora(2009), su último trabajo, lanzado poco antes de su muerte, que es un álbum doble donde interpreta 34 canciones a dúo con destacados cantantes iberoamericanos y cierra con el himno nacional argentino.

          Uno de los pioneros del pop-rock venezolano se ha ido a los 71 años, tras luchar durante un tiempo contra la diabetes lo cual le trajo complicaciones renales.

      Edgar Quintero, mejor conocido como Edgar Alexander, fue sin duda gran responsable de la consolidación del rock en Venezuela gracias a Los Impala, una banda esencial fundada en Maracaibo a finales de los años 50 y que gracias a él y a los varios músicos emblemáticos que formaron parte de ella a partir de 1962, definieron el panorama pop con canciones inolvidables.

        Los Impala no solo versionaron a los grupos ingleses y norteamericanos como era habitual entonces, sino que fue de las pocas bandas que compuso temas propios, una responsabilidad que cayó principalmente en Edgar Quintero.

     De hecho eran mas temas propios que las versiones. Canciones como «Triste«, «Quiéreme«, «Cielo azul«, «Linda nena«, «La muchacha que yo quise«, «New love time«, «Taxi«, entre otras, eran obra de Edgar. Incluso las adaptaciones al español de temas conocidos de los Beatles, Joe Tex, James Brown…

         Moshé Michael Brand(en hébreu: משה מיכאל ברנד), dit Mike Brant, né le 1er février 1947 à Famagouste (Colonie britannique de Chypre) et mort le 25 avril 1975 à Paris(France), est un chanteur et compositeur israélien.

      C'est em France qu'il rencontre le succès, au début des années 1970, avant sa mort prématurée à l'âge de 28 ans. Ses chansons les plus connues sont Laisse-moi t'aimer(1970), C'est ma prière(1972), Qui saura(1972), Rien qu'une larme(1973), C'est comme ça que je t'aime(1974) et Dis-lui(1975). Alors qu'il chante dans une langue étrangère, Mike Brant vend dans l'Hexagone le chiffre record de 15 millions de disques en seulement cinq ans de carrière.

        John R. Cash(born J. R. Cash; February 26, 1932–September 12, 2003) was an American singer, songwriter, and actor. Much of Cash's music contained themes of sorrow, moral tribulation, and redemption, especially in the later stages of his career. He was known for his deep, calm bass-baritone voice, the distinctive sound of his Tennessee Three backing band characterized by train-like chugging guitar rhythms, a rebelliousness coupled with an increasingly somber and humble demeanor, free prison concerts, and a trademark all-black stage wardrobe which earned him the nickname "The Man in Black".

     Born to poor cotton farmers in Kingsland, Arkansas, Cash rose to fame during the mid-1950s in the burgeoning rockabilly scene in Memphis, Tennessee, after four years in the Air Force. He traditionally began his concerts by simply introducing himself, "Hello, I'm Johnny Cash", followed by "Folsom Prison Blues", one of his signature songs. Alongside "Folsom Prison Blues", his other signature songs include "I Walk the Line", "Ring of Fire", "Get Rhythm", and "Man in Black". He also recorded humorous numbers like "One Piece at a Time" and "A Boy Named Sue", a duet with his future wife June called "Jackson" (followed by many further duets after their wedding), and railroad songs such as "Hey, Porter", "Orange Blossom Special", and "Rock Island Line". During the last stage of his career, he covered songs by contemporary rock artists; among his most notable covers were "Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails, "Rusty Cage" by Soundgarden, and "Personal Jesus" by Depeche Mode.

            Cash is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, having sold more than 90 million records worldwide. His genre-spanning music embraced country, rock and roll, rockabilly, blues, folk, and gospel sounds. This crossover appeal earned him the rare honor of being inducted into the Country Music, Rock and Roll, and Gospel Music Halls of Fame. His music career was dramatised in the 2005 biopic Walk the Line.

       Ring of Fire: The Best of Johnny Cash is the sixteenth album by singer-songwriter Johnny Cash, released on Columbia Records in 1963 (see 1963 in music). This album collects tracks from singles and an EP released between 1959 and 1963, Cash's first years on the Columbia label, and marked the first release of these tracks in LP format, with the exception of "I Still Miss Someone," which had previously appeared on the 1958 album The Fabulous Johnny Cash. "Ring of Fire", one of Cash's most famous tracks, made its first LP appearance here. Ring of Fire was the first #1 album when Billboard debuted their Country Album Chart on January 11, 1964. Certified Gold on February 11, 1965 by the RIAA, it earned him his first Gold LP. It stands as the only Columbia "greatest hits" collection to be included in the Johnny Cash: The Complete Columbia Album Collection box set.
