Foo Fighters are an American rock band formed in 1994 in Seattle, Washington. The band was founded by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl as a one-man project following the dissolution of Nirvana after the suicide of Kurt Cobain. The group took its name from foo fighter, a nickname coined by Allied aircraft pilots for UFOs and other aerial phenomena. Over the course of their career, Foo Fighters have won 12 Grammy Awards, including Best Rock Album four times. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021, their first year of eligibility.
Prior to the release of Foo Fighters' 1995 debut álbum Foo Fighters, which featured Grohl as the only official member, Grohl recruited bassist Nate Mendel and drummer William Goldsmith, both formerly of Sunny Day Real Estate, as well as Nirvana touring guitarist Pat Smear. The band began with performances in Portland, Oregon. Goldsmith quit during the recording of their second álbum The Colour and the Shape (1997); most of the drum parts were re-recorded by Grohl. Smear departed soon afterward but appeared as a guest with the band frequently from 2005; he rejoined in 2010.
Sonic Highways is the eighth studio album by American rock band Foo Fighters, released on November 10, 2014, through Roswell and RCA Records. Similar to their previous album, Wasting Light(2011), it was produced by the band with Butch Vig. In writing the album's eight songs, singer and guitarist Dave Grohl traveled to eight cities across the United States to conduct interviews with musicians, recording engineers, record producers, and other individuals discussing each city's musical history, which he used as inspiration for the songs' lyrics. The band and Vig then traveled to a different recording location in each city to record the songs. Each track features contributions from one or more musicians with ties to that city's musical history. The process was filmed for a companion television series, Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways, which was broadcast on HBO in the months surrounding the album's release.
Give me the flammable light
I'm cold as a match, ready to strike
So, here I go

Here lies a city on fire
Singing along
The arsonist choir
Now, here I go

It started with a spark
And burning to the dark
Now, here I go

There is a river I've found
Into the wild
Under the ground
So, here I go

A button on a string
And I heard everything
Now here I go

Oh, sweet ignition, be my fuse
You have no choice, you have to choose
Bid farewell to yesterday
Say goodbye, I'm on my way

But in the end, we all
Come from what's come before
So, here I go

Oh, sweet ignition, be my fuse
You have no choice, you have to choose
Bid farewell to yesterday
Say goodbye, I'm on my way

I threw it all away because
I had to be what never was
Been so hungry I could lie
Took my word, I took your wine
And held you in my bloody hands

These rattled bones and rubber bands
Washed them in the muddy water
Looking for a dime and found a quarter
But you can't make me change my name
You'll never make me change my name

Pay no mind, now, ain't that something?
Fuck it all, I came from nothing

I'm something from nothing
You are my fuse

I'm something from nothing
You are my fuse
It goes oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh

Oh, oh, oh
It goes oh, oh, oh
Alright

No, you can't make me change my name
You'll never make me change my name
Pay no mind, now, ain't that something?
Fuck it all, I came from nothing

I'm something
From nothing
I'm something
From nothing.

Darling if you ever leave me well I'll just put my heart away
I couldn't love again believe me no one could please me anyway
And if another ever came along I'd just turn them down cause after all
I've been loved by the best I can't settle now for less why bother with the rest
Baby I've been to the top I guess with you I have been blessed
I won't take nothing less I've been loved by the best

If you ever get tired of me well I won't look for someone new
Cause looking back on how you loved me no one could measue up to you
And if they try to win this heart of mine I just have to say they waste the time
I've been loved by the best...
When I look into your eyes I know you're the only love I'll ever want
Cause after you and me baby I can see nothing else could be even fault
I've been loved by the best...

BE THE ONE

DUA LIPA
SONGWRITERS: LUCY TAYLOR & DIGITAL FARM ANIMALS: JACK TARRANT
COUNTRY: U. K.
ALBUM: BE THE ONE
LABEL: DUA LIPA LTD
GENRE: POP
YEAR: 2015

"Be the One" is a song by English singer Dua Lipa from her eponymous debut studio album(2017). The song was written by Lucy Taylor, Jack Tarrant and Digital Farm Animals, with the latter of the three also handling the production. They wrote it about a relationship that Taylor was in and gave the song to Lipa, who was originally reluctant to record it due to the writing credits. It is a dream pop, Europop and synth-pop song with elements of gospel and power pop. Lyrically, it sees Lipa begging her boyfriend for a romantic redemption. The song was met with critical acclaim, with many music critics hailing it a standout on the album and praising the anthemic qualities in the production.
Released through Dua Lipa Limited for digital download and streaming on 30 October 2015, "Be the One" received limited attention at the time as it was only intended to be promoted on blogs and online outlets. However, after being picked up by German radio stations, it became a sleeper hit the following year. Due to this success, the song was re-released on 6 December 2016, being promoted in the United Kingdom and the United States. It reached the top ten of charts in nine territories worldwide, including the Flanders region of Belgium where it reached the summit and Lipa's native region of the United Kingdom, where it peaked at number nine becoming her first solo top 10 single. The song is currently certified gold or higher in eleven regions, including a double platinum in the UK.
The music video for "Be the One" was directed by Nicole Nodland. It features several scenes of Lipa in London. With the song's re-release, a second music video was released. Directed by Daniel Kaufman, it stars Ansel Elgort as Lipa's love interest and was created in a collaboration between Vevo and Lexus, where a Lexus IS covered in LEDs appears. The video features Elgort following Lipa out of a motel after the two had an argument. Lipa promoted the song with numerous live performances, including ones for Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Good Morning America, and Later... with Jools Holland. Remixes by Paul Woolford, Take a Daytrip and Netsky were also released for promotion.
I see the moon
I see the moon
I see the moon
Oh, when you're looking at the sun

Not a fool
I'm not a fool
Not a fool
No, you are not fooling anyone

Oh, but when you're gone
When you're gone
When you're gone
Oh baby, all the lights go out

Thinking oh that, baby, I was wrong
I was wrong
I was wrong
Come back to me, baby
We can work this out

Oh baby, come on, let me get to know ya
Just another chance, so that I can show
That I won't let you down, and run
No, I won't let you down, and run
'Cause, I could be the one

I could be the one
I could be the one
I could be the one

I see in blue
I see in blue
I see in blue
Oh, when you see everything in red

There's nothing that I wouldn't do for you
Do for you
Do for you
Oh, 'cause you got inside my head

Oh, but when you're gone
When you're gone
When you're gone
Oh baby, all the lights go out

Thinking oh that, baby, I was wrong
I was wrong
I was wrong
Come back to me, baby
We can work this out

Oh baby, come on, let me get to know ya
Just another chance, so that I can show
That I won't let you down, and run
No, I won't let you down, and run
'Cause I could be the one

I could be the one
I could be the one

Be the one, be the one, be the one, be the one, be the one, be the one
(I could be the one)
Be the one, be the one, be the one, be the one, be the one, be the one
(I could be the one)
Be the one, be the one, be the one, be the one, be the one, be the one
(I could be the one)
Be the one, be the one, be the one, be the one
(Will you be mine?)

Oh baby, come on, let me get to know ya
Just another chance, so that I can show
That I won't let you down, and run
No, I won't let you down, and run
'Cause I could be the one

I could be the one
I could be the one.
