Daryl Hall and John Oates(commonly known as Hall & Oates) are an American pop rock duo formed in Philadelphia in 1970. Daryl Hall is generally the lead vocalist; John Oates primarily plays electric guitar and provides backing vocals. The two write most of the songs they perform, separately or in collaboration. They achieved their greatest fame from the mid-1970s to the late-1980s with a fusion of rock and roll and rhythm and blues.
Though they are commonly referred to as Hall & Oates, Hall has been adamant about the duo being called Daryl Hall & John Oates- its official name. They have been credited on albums as Daryl Hall & John Oates(or Daryl Hall John Oates) on all of their US releases. The duo reached the US Top 40 with 29 of their 33 singles charting on Billboard's Hot 100 between 1974 and 1991. Six of these peaked at number one: "Rich Girl" (1977), "Kiss on My List" (1980), the two 1981 releases "Private Eyes", and "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)" (also a Hot Soul Nº 1), "Maneater"(1982) and "Out of Touch"(1984). Their overall 16 US Top Tens also include "She's Gone", "Sara Smile", "You Make My Dreams", "Family Man", "Say It Isn't So", and "Method of Modern Love". Seven of their albums have been RIAA-certified platinum and six of them gold. In the United Kingdom, they have achieved success with two Top Ten albums and six Top 40 singles, two of which – "I Can't Go for That (No Can Do)" and "Maneater" – reached the Top Ten. The duo have spent 120 weeks in the UK Top 75 albums chart and 84 weeks in the UK Top 75 singles chart.
Rock 'n Soul Part 1 (also titled Greatest Hits – Rock 'n Soul Part 1) is a greatest hits album by American musical duo Hall & Oates, credited as "Daryl Hall John Oates" on the album cover. Released by RCA Records on October 18, 1983, the album featured mostly hit singles recorded by the duo and released by RCA, along with one single from the duo's period with Atlantic Records and two previously unreleased songs recorded earlier in the year: "Say It Isn't So" and "Adult Education".
The album was originally released on LP and cassette, with sides labeled "Side One" and "Side A". In 2006, the album was re-released on CD by RCA and Legacy Recordings with two bonus tracks. On October 16, 2015, Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab released the album on SACD but it doesn't include the bonus tracks of the 2006 CD.
The duo paired with HBO for a concert special; it became their first for pay TV; they performed a show at the Montreal Forum in Quebec, Canada on March 10 and 11, 1983; the performance was filmed and released as a VHS called: Rock 'n Soul Live; the video was certified Gold by the RIAA on July 15, 1986, denoting shipments of 50,000. The concert premiered on HBO on March 20, 1983; it features selections from the duo's album H2O; it was directed by Mike Mansfield and produced by Danny O'Donovan.
This compilation mostly features single versions of the songs.
I'm tired of playing on the team
It seems I don't get time out anymore
What a change if we set the pace face to face
No one even trying to score oh

Oh oh I can feel the magic of your touch
And when you move in close a little bit means so much
Ooh yeah, you've got to understand baby
Time out is what I'm here for

One on one I want to play that game tonight
One on one I know I want to play that
One on one I want to play that game tonight
One on one so slow

You can't tell me you don't miss me girl
I think I might know you too well
Wonder what you'd say if you knew that I was coming tonight
(Want to) I want you can't you tell

One on one I want to play that game tonight
One on one I know I want to play that
One on one I want to play that game tonight
One on one so slow

That's all you need to know now
'Cause if it's really right there's nothing else
One on one I want to play that game tonight
One on one I want to play that game tonight
One on one I want to play that game tonight
One on one I want to play that game tonight

One on one, girl
There's nothing else but you and me
I don't want no one else
I don't want no one else
Baby I am tired of playing
I am tired of playing
I don't want to play those games no more, no more
I want to play with you girl
I want to play with you girl
Just you and me
You and me
You and me.

RIHANNA
SONGWRITERS: CHRISTOPHER A. STEWART; SHAWN C. CARTER; TERIUS YOUNGDELL NASH & TADDIS LAPHONIA HARRELL
COUNTRY: BARBADOS
ALBUM: GOOD GIRL GONE BAD
LABEL: DEF JAM RECORDING
GENRE: R & B
YEAR: 2007

Robyn Rihanna Fenty (born February 20, 1988) (/riˈænə/ree-ANN-ə) is a Barbadian singer, actress, fashion designer, and businesswoman. Born in Saint Michael and raised in Bridgetown, Barbados, Rihanna was discovered by American record producer Evan Rogers who invited her to the United States to record demo tapes. After signing with Def Jam in 2005, she soon gained recognition with the release of her first two studio albums, Music of the Sun(2005) and A Girl Like Me(2006), both of which were influenced by Caribbean music and peaked within the top ten of the US Billboard 200 chart.
Rihanna's third album, Good Girl Gone Bad(2007), incorporated elements of dance-pop and established her status as a sex symbol in the music industry. The chart-topping single "Umbrella" earned Rihanna her first Grammy Award and catapulted her to global stardom. She continued to mix pop, dance, and R&B genres on her next studio albums, Rated R(2009), Loud(2010), Talk That Talk(2011), and Unapologetic(2012), the latter of which became her first Billboard 200 number one. The albums spawned a string of chart-topping singles, including "Rude Boy", "Only Girl(In the World)", "What's My Name?", "S&M", "We Found Love", "Where Have You Been" and "Diamonds". Her eighth album, Anti(2016), showcased a new creative control following her departure from Def Jam. It became her second US number one album and featured the chart-topping single "Work". During her musical career, Rihanna has collaborations with artists such as rappers Drake, Eminem, Jay-Z, and Kanye West and singers Adam Levine, Paul McCartney, Ne-Yo, and Shakira.
Good Girl Gone Bad is the third studio album by Barbadian singer Rihanna. It was released on May 31, 2007, by Def Jam Recordings and SRP Records. Rihanna worked with various producers on the album, including Christopher "Tricky" Stewart, Terius "The-Dream" Nash, Neo da Matrix, Timbaland, Carl Sturken, Evan Rogers and Stargate. Inspired by Brandy Norwood's fourth studio album Afrodisiac(2004), Good Girl Gone Bad is a pop, dance-pop and R&B record with 1980s music influences. Described as a turning point in Rihanna's career, it represents a departure from the Caribbean sound of her previous releases, Music of the Sun(2005) and A Girl like Me(2006). Apart from the sound, she also endorsed a new image for the release going from an innocent young woman to an edgier, more mature look.
Critics gave generally positive reviews of the album, praising its composition and Rihanna's new musical direction, though some criticized the album's lyrics and inconsistency. The album received seven Grammy Award nominations and one win in the Best Rap/Sung Collaboration category for "Umbrella" at the 2008 ceremony. The album debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 chart and sold 162,000 copies in its first week. Certified six-times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America(RIAA), it sold more than 2.8 million copies in the United States. The album reached number one in Canada, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. According to IFPI, Good Girl Gone Bad has sold 3.6 million copies worldwide and became the 12th best-selling album of 2007 worldwide.
Good Girl Gone Bad spawned five singles, including the international hits "Umbrella" and "Don't Stop the Music"; Rolling Stone placed the former at number 412 on the magazine's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time list. To promote the album, Rihanna embarked on her first worldwide concert tour and third overall, the Good Girl Gone Bad Tour. The album was reissued as Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded in June 2008 with three new songs, including the US Billboard Hot 100 number-one hits "Take a Bow" and "Disturbia". It was followed by Rihanna's first remix album, Good Girl Gone Bad: The Remixes, in January 2009, which featured remixes from Moto Blanco, Tony Moran, the Soul Seekerz and the Wideboys.
Uh huh, uh huh
Yeah, Rihanna
Uh huh, uh huh
Good girl gone bad
Uh huh, uh huh
Take three, action
Uh huh, uh huh, Hov

No clouds in my stones
Let it rain, I hydroplane in the bank
Comin' down at the Dow Jones
When the clouds come, we gone
We Rocafella
We fly higher than weather
In G5s or better
You know me
In anticipation for precipitation stack chips for the rainy day
Rain Man is back with little Ms. Sunshine
Rihanna, where you at?

You have my heart, and we'll never be worlds apart
Maybe in magazines, but you'll still be my star
Baby, 'cause in the dark
You can't see shiny cars
And that's when you need me there
With you I'll always share
Because

When the sun shines, we'll shine together
Told you I'll be here forever
Said I'll always be your friend
Took an oath, I'ma stick it out 'til the end
Now that it's raining more than ever
Know that we'll still have each other
You can stand under my umbrella
You can stand under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh
Under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh
Under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh
Under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh

These fancy things will never come in between
You're part of my entity, here for infinity
When the world has took its part
When the world has dealt its cards
If the hand is hard, together we'll mend your heart
Because

When the sun shines, we shine together
Told you I'll be here forever
Said I'll always be your friend
Took an oath, I'ma stick it out 'til the end
Now that it's raining more than ever
Know that we'll still have each other
You can stand under my umbrella
You can stand under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh
Under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh
Under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh
Under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh

You can run into my arms
It's okay, don't be alarmed
Come into me
(There's no distance in between our love)
So gon' and let the rain pour
I'll be all you need and more
Because

When the sun shines, we shine together
Told you I'll be here forever
Said I'll always be your friend
Took an oath, I'ma stick it out 'til the end
Now that it's raining more than ever
Know that we'll still have each other
You can stand under my umbrella
You can stand under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh
Under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh
Under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh
Under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, eh

It's raining, raining
Ooh, baby, it's raining, raining
Baby, come into me
Come into me
It's raining, raining
Ooh, baby, it's raining, raining
You can always come into me
Come into me
It's pouring rain
It's pouring rain
Come into me
Come into me
It's pouring rain
It's pouring rain.

SONGWRITERS: ROBERT JOHN LANGE & SHANIA TWAIN
COUNTRY: CANADA
ALBUM: GREATEST HITS
LABEL: MERCURY NASHVILLE
GENRE: COUNTRY MUSIC
YEAR: 2004

Eilleen Regina "Shania" Twain (/aɪˈliːn/eye-LEEN,/ʃənaɪə/; née Edwards; born August 28, 1965) is a Canadian singer and songwriter. She has sold over 100 million records, making her the best-selling female artist in country music history and one of the best-selling music artists of all time. Her success garnered her several honorific titles including the "Queen of Country Pop". Billboard named her as the leader of the '90s country-pop crossover stars.
Raised in Timmins, Ontario, Twain pursued singing and songwriting from a young age before signing with Mercury Nashville Records in the early 1990s. Her self-titled debut studio album was a commercial failure upon release in 1993. After collaborating with producer and later husband Robert John "Mutt" Lange, Twain rose to fame with her second studio album, The Woman in Me(1995), which brought her widespread success. It sold over 20 million copies worldwide, spawned eight singles, including "Any Man of Mine" and earned her a Grammy Award. Her third studio album, Come On Over(1997), became the best-selling studio album by a female act in any genre and the best-selling country album of all time, selling over 40 million copies worldwide. Come On Over produced twelve singles, including "You're Still the One", "From This Moment On", "That Don't Impress Me Much" and "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" and earned Twain four Grammy Awards. Her fourth studio album, Up!(2002), spawned eight singles, including "I'm Gonna Getcha Good!", "Ka-Ching!" and "Forever and for Always", selling over 20 million copies worldwide, also being certified Diamond in the United States.
In 2004, after releasing her Greatest Hits album, which produced three new singles including "Party for Two", Twain entered a hiatus, revealing years later that diagnoses with Lyme disease and dysphonia led to a severely weakened singing voice. She chronicled her vocal rehabilitation on the OWN miniseries Why Not? with Shania Twain, released her first single in seven years in 2012, "Today Is Your Day", and published an autobiography, From This Moment On. Twain returned to performing the following year with an exclusive concert residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, Shania: Still the One, which ran until 2014. In 2015, she launched the North American Rock This Country Tour, which was billed as her farewell tour. Twain released her first studio album in 15 years in 2017, Now, and embarked on the Now Tour in 2018. In 2019, she started her second Las Vegas residency, Let's Go! at the Zappos Theater.
Greatest Hits is a greatest hits album by Shania Twain, released in 2004. The album contains 17 hits (18 on the International version) from her three Diamond albums The Woman in Me, Come On Over and Up!. Also included are three new songs: "Party for Two" which hit the top ten at country in the US, UK and Germany, "Don't!" and "I Ain't No Quitter". No material from Twain's self-titled debut album is included.
Greatest Hits finished 2005 as the highest selling country album in the US. The album has been certified 4× platinum in the US and 2× platinum in the UK.
Greatest Hits debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart and at number one on the Top Country Albums chart with 530,000 copies sold. The album stayed at number one on that chart for 11 consecutive weeks. The album is recognized by Guinness World Records as the fastest-selling greatest hits album by a female artist in the US.
As of December 2019, the album has sold 4.4 million copies in the US.

4:55, everybody else is snoring
My heavy eyes, I can never seem to close 'em
My running mind, just can't catch it when it's going
Is it late at night or is it early in the morning?

Only
So many sheep a girl can count
Patchouli candles burning out
I try to meditate it all away but, damn it, it's too quiet now
Daylight helps distract my head
Monsters hide under my bed
They bother me with all kinds of things
Like, "Where do I go when I'm dead?"

Is it too much to ask for a sweet dream?
Need a step back from my feelings
Life is not so bad when I'm sleeping
Is it too much to ask, too much to ask for a
Sweet dream
For a, sweet dream

6:58, sun's peaking through the curtains
I drift away, suddenly the wheels are turning
Songs are in my head, scary thoughts begin to worsen
Once I'm wide awake, it's too hard to reverse it

Chirping, birds are flying 'round my house
Patchouli candles burning out
I try to meditate it all away but, damn it, it's too quiet now
Daylight helps distract my head
Monsters hide under my bed
They bother me with all kinds of things
Like that one stupid thing I said

Is it too much to ask for a sweet dream?
Need a step back from my feelings
Life is not so bad when I'm sleeping
Is it too much to ask, too much to ask for a
Sweet dream
For a, sweet dream
For a, sweet dream
For a, sweet dream

Sandman, can you visit me?
All I want is a sweet dream

8:31, I'm slurring every word now
I pray this cold coffee helps me with the rebound
How does everybody I know know how to sleep sound?
When we're all a mess
I guess the only way out is a

Sweet dream (sweet dream, sweet dream)
Is a, sweet dream (ah-ah)
Sweet dream (oh, yeah)
Is a, sweet dream (yeah).
