Chuaigh mé isteach i dteach aréir
is d'iarr mé cairde ar mhnaoi an leanna
Is é dúirt sí liom "Ní bhfaighidh tú deor
Buail an bóthar is gabh abhaile

I came by a house last night
And told the woman I am staying
I said to her
"The moon is bright and my fiddles tuned for playing"

Tell me that the night is long
Tell me that the moon is glowing
Fill my glass, I'll sing a song
And will start the music flowing

Never mind the rising light
There's no sign of day or dawning
In my heart it's still the night
And we'll stay here till the morning

Níl sé ina lá, níl a ghrá
níl sé ina lá is ní bheidh go maidin
níl sé ina lá is ní bheidh go fóill
solas ard atá sa ghealaigh

It's not day nor yet awhile
I can see the starlight shining
Níl sé ina lá is ní bheidh go fóill
solas ard atá sa ghealaigh

Fill the glasses one more time
And never heed the empty bottle
Turn the water into wine
And turn the party up full throttle

Don't go out into the cold
Where the wind and rain are blowing
For the fire is flamming gold
And in here the music's flowing

Níl sé ina lá, níl a ghrá
níl sé ina lá is ní bheidh go maidin
níl sé ina lá is ní bheidh go fóill
solas ard atá sa ghealaigh

Tell me that the night is long
Tell me that the moon is gleaming
Fill my glass, I'll sing a song
And we'll keep the music streaming
Until all the songs are sung

Níl sé ina lá, níl a ghrá
níl sé ina lá is ní bheidh go maidin
níl sé ina lá is ní bheidh go fóill
solas ard atá sa ghealaigh

Níl sé ina lá, níl a ghrá
níl sé ina lá is ní bheidh go maidin
níl sé ina lá is ní bheidh go fóill
solas ard atá sa ghealaigh

Níl sé ina lá, níl a ghrá
níl sé ina lá is ní bheidh go maidin
níl sé ina lá is ní bheidh go fóill
solas ard atá sa ghealaigh

Níl sé ina lá, níl a ghrá
níl sé ina lá is ní bheidh go maidin
níl sé ina lá is ní bheidh go fóill
solas ard atá sa ghealaigh.

Born from some mother's womb,
Just like any other room.
Made a promise for a new life.
Made a victim out of your life.

When your time's on the door,
And it drips to the floor,
And you feel you can touch,
All the noise is too much,
And the seeds that are sown,
Are no longer your own.

Just a minor operation,
To force a final ultimatum.
Thousand words are spoken loud,
Reach the dumb to fool the crowd.

When you walk down the street,
And the sound's not so sweet,
And you wish you could hide,
Maybe go for a ride,
To some peep show arcade,
Where the future's not made.

A nightmare situation,
Infiltrate imagination,
Smacks of past Holy wars,
By the wall with broken laws.

The leaders of men,
Born out of your frustration.
The leaders of men,
Just a strange infatuation.
The leaders of men,
Made a promise for a new life.
No saviour for our sakes,
To twist the internees of hate,
Self induced manipulation,

To crush all thoughts of mass salvation.

Get out my life woman
You don't love me no more
Get out my life woman
You don't love me no more
Get out my life woman
You don't love me no more

Get out my eyes teardrops
I got to see my way around
Get out my eyes teardrops
I got to see my way around
Get out my life, heartaches
Nothin' but heartaches by the Pound

Get off my ladder, woman
I got to climb up to the top
Get off my ladder, woman
There is nothin that can make me stop

Get out the way, woman
I got to be movin' on
Get out the way, woman
I got to be movin' on
Get out the way, woman
I got to be movin' on

I'm sorry I've got leave you.

Libraries gave us Power
Then work came and made us free
What price now
For a shallow piece of dignity

I wish I had a bottle
Right here in my dirty face
To wear the scars
To show from where I came

We don't talk about Love
We only want to get drunk
And we are not allowed to spend
As we are told that this is the end

A design for life
A design for life
A design for life
A design for life

I wish I had a bottle
Right here in my pretty face
To wear the scars
To show from where I came

We don't talk about Love
We only want to get drunk
And we are not allowed to spend
As we are told that this is the end

A design for life
A design for life
A design for life
A design for life.
