The Mosaic Project is the fifth studio album as a leader by Terri Lyne Carrington.
She won the award in the category "Best Jazz Vocal Album" at the 54th Grammy Awards in 2012.
The Mosaic Project assembles an all-female cast, including Dianne Reeves, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Nona Hendryx, Patrice Rushen, Sheila E, Geri Allen, Tineke Postma, Ingrid Jensen, Helen Sung, Gretchen Parlato, and Esperanza Spalding.
The album opens with “Transformation,” a song written and sung by Nona Hendryx that examines the constant state of flux and change that exists throughout nature and the universe. “This is completely different from Nona’s original version,” says Carrington. “Some people wouldn’t even recognize it, but this song resonates with me - so much so that I started hearing other music around her original melody with moments of Wayne Shorter’s influence peeking through.”

Cindy Blackman (born November 18, 1959), sometimes known as Cindy Blackman-Santana, is an American jazz and rock drummer. Blackman is best known for recording and touring with Lenny Kravitz. Blackman has recorded several jazz albums under her own name, and has performed with Pharoah Sanders, Sonny Simmons, Ron Carter, Sam Rivers, Cassandra Wilson, Angela Bofill, Buckethead, Bill Laswell and Joe Henderson. Tony Williams is her main drumming influence. In 1997 she recorded Multiplicity as a drum teaching video. "To me, jazz is the highest form of music that you can play because of the creative requirements", says Blackman.  Blackman is married to rock guitarist Carlos Santana.
The 2009 Montreal Drum Festival showcases the best drummers and percussionists from around the world and Remo sponsored the best of them. Herbert "Herb" Alpert (Los Angeles, 31 de março de 1935) é um músico estadunidense, conhecido por compor o grupo Herb Alpert & Tijuana Brass. Foi fundador e executivo da indústria fonográfica, mais especificamente da A&M Records – uma empresa de gravação fonográfica, fundada com Jerry Moss.
Durante a carreira, lançou cinco singles, vinte e oito álbuns na Billboard, oito Grammy Awards, quatorze álbuns de platina e quinze álbuns de ouro. Em 1996, Alpert vendeu 72 milhões de álbuns em todo o mundo.
No Brasil, os arranjos que ele fez para as gravações de Chris Montez teriam influenciado Wilson Simonal e "A Turma da Pilantragem", os principais artistas do movimento musical brasileiro da década de 1960 que ficou conhecido como "Pilantragem".
South of the Border is the third album by American easy listening brass band, Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass, originally released in 1964. The name of the group, for this album, is "Herb Alpert's Tijuana Brass".
Alpert's first top ten hit, and fifth gold record, the album continued the progression of the Tijuana Brass from its mostly-Mexican sound to a more easy-listening style, with a collection of cover versions of popular songs. Included were "I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face", originally featured in the Broadway musical My Fair Lady and The Beatles' 1963 hit "All My Loving". It also featured an instrumental cover of its title song, "South of the Border", which was most famously done as a vocal by Frank Sinatra.
