GET YOU BACK
MAYER HAWTHORNE
SONGWRITER: ANDREW COHEN & JACK SPLASH
COUNTRY: U.S.A.
ALBUM: MAN ABOUT TOWN
LABEL: VAGRANT RECORDS
GENRE: SOUL MUSIC
YEAR: 2016

Man About Town is the fourth studio album by American musician Mayer Hawthorne. It was released on April 8, 2016, under Vagrant Records.
Man About Town received generally positive reviews from critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream publications, the album received an average score of 74, based on 8 reviews. Mark Deming of AllMusic said, "Man About Town doesn't boast much in the way of radical steps forward. But it confirms the man is still very good at what he does." Ken Capobianco of The Boston Globe said, "Highlights album come when the songs stretch beyond Hawthorne's solo comfort zone." Mackenzie Herd of Exclaim! said, "There is an invigorating energy that shines through the lyrics and tempo of this album, so although lyrics about the finer things of California living aren't necessarily profound or entirely relatable, on Man About Town, Hawthorne's buoyant optimism for beginning anew in 2016 is utterly contagious." Colin McGuire of PopMatters said, "Like it or not, there aren't many people who can pull off what Mayer Hawthorne does best these days as well as Mayer Hawthorne does it. It fills a very real void in an increasingly crowded and grossly jaded pop music world. It is, in essence, important work."

When we spoke you were throwin' those words at me
I didn't understand what I did wrong
I got on a plane to Miami
And when I got back you were gone

And now all I have
Is an empty flask
'Cause I'm still attached
And I've got to find a way
To get you back
Get you back
Get you back
Get you back

I still smell your perfume on my pillow
(Chanel No. 5)
You lit up the room when the lights went out
Lord I didn't know what I was in for
(Caught me by surprise)
Hit me like an 808 from the dirty South

And now all I have
Is an empty flask
'Cause I'm still attached
And I've got to find a way
To get you back
Get you back
Get you back

Get you back

She's tried on everything
Every little thing inside her closet
And she knows it's getting late
Knows that I been waiting and I'm starving
Cause we been working overtime
She wants to make anight that we will remember
And I'm staring at the time
Thinking it's alright, put on whatever

But I've been on my best behavior
Pacing back and forth
And 10 thousand lifetimes later
When she walks through the door

I said hey you with the red dress on
I gotta find a way to take it off
I got a lot of love and it's growing strong
When I see you with your red dress on
You in that red dress
You in that red dress

Yeah, it's hard to concentrate
Finish up your plate, she whispers to me
But I got one thing on my mind
As they pour the wine and it consumes me

But I've been on my best behavior
Not to cause a scene
But when we finally get home later
It's just you and me

And I said hey you with the red dress on
I gotta find a way to take it off
I got a lot of love and it's growing strong
When I see you with your red dress on
Hey you with the red dress on
I gotta find a way to take it off
I got a lot of love and it's growing strong
When I see you with your red dress on
You in that red dress
You

Hey you with the red dress on
I said hey you with the red dress on

Hey you with the red dress on
I gotta find a way to take it off
I got a lot of love and it's growing strong
When I see you with your red dress on

You in that red dress
You in that red dress on

You with the red dress on

É, mil gatos no telhado

É, mil ratos no sobrado

Acostumado a rotina

Mil gatos no telhado perante você
Mil ratos no sobrado perante você
Mil gatos no telhado perante você
Mil ratos no sobrado perante você
Mil gatos no telhado perante você

Mil ratos no sobrado perante você
MAMA DO
PIXIE LOTT
SONGWRITERS: Mads Hauge & Phil Thornalley
COUNTRY: U.K.
ALBUM: TURN IT UP
LABEL: MERCURY RECORDS
GENRE: SOUL
YEAR: 2009

Oh Uh Oh Uh
Everynight I go
Everynight I go
Sneaking out the door
I lie a little more
Baby I'm helpless

Theres something about the night
And the way it hides all the things I like
Little black butterflies
Deep inside me

What would my mama do (Oh Uh Oh Uh)
If she knew about me and you? (Oh Uh Oh Uh)
What would my daddy say (Oh Uh Oh Uh)
If he saw me hurt this way? (Oh Uh Oh Uh)

Why should I feel ashamed?
Feeling guilty at the mention of your name
Here we are again
It's nearly perfect

What would my mama do (Oh Uh Oh Uh)
If she knew about me and you? (Oh Uh Oh Uh)
What would my daddy say (Oh Uh Oh Uh)
If he saw me hurt this way? (Oh Uh Oh Uh)

What would my mama do... (Oh Oh )
What would my daddy say...

All the things a girl should know
Are the things she can't control
All the things a girl should know
she can't control

What would my mama do (Oh Uh Oh Uh)
If she knew about me and you? (Oh Uh Oh Uh)
What would my daddy say (Oh Uh Oh Uh)

If he saw me hurt this way? (Oh Uh Oh Uh)
