Helen Forrest (April 12,
1917 – July 11, 1999) was an American singer of traditional pop and swing music.
She served as the
"girl singer" for three of the most popular big bands of the Swing
Era (Artie Shaw, Benny Goodman, and Harry James), thereby earning a reputation
as "the voice of the name bands."
Dick: it had to be you, it had to be
you
I wandered around and finally found
the somebody who
Could make me be true, could make me
feel blue
And even be glad just to be sad
thinkin of you
Some others ive
seen might never be mean
Might never be cross or try to be
boss
But they wouldnt
do
For nobody else gave me a thrill
With all your faults, i love you
still
It had to be you, wonderful you
It had to be you
