Melody Gardot/ɡɑːrˈdoʊ/(born
February 2, 1985) is an American jazz singer who has been influenced by such
blues and jazz artists as Judy Garland, Janis Joplin, Miles Davis, Duke
Ellington, Stan Getz and George Gershwin as well as Latin music artists such as
Caetano Veloso. She has been nominated for a Grammy Award.
At the age of 19, Gardot
was involved in a bicycle accident and sustained a head injury. Music played a critical role in
her recovery. She became an advocate of music therapy, visiting
hospitals and universities to discuss its benefits. In 2012, she gave her name
to a music therapy program in New Jersey.
Gardot started music lessons at the age of nine and began
playing piano in Philadelphia bars at the age of 16 on Fridays and Saturdays
for four hours a night. She insisted on playing only
music she liked, such as The Mamas & the Papas, Duke Ellington, and Radiohead.
During her time in the
hospital she learned how to play the guitar and began writing songs, which were
made available as downloads on iTunes and released on Some Lessons: The Bedroom
Sessions in 2005. She began to play these songs at venues in Philadelphia and
was noticed by employees of the radio station WXPN, operated by the University
of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, which helped to start the career of Norah
Jones. She was encouraged to send a demo tape to the radio station, and the
tape found its way to the Universal Music Group. She released her first album, Worrisome
Heart(Verve, 2006), then My One and Only Thrill(Verve 2009), produced by Larry
Klein.
So we meet again my heartache
So we meet again my friend
I should've known that you'd return
The moment I was... ?
So we meet again my heartache
Like two lovers torn apart
Bound together by the breaking
Of a tired and torrid heart
So we meet again my heartache
Just as leaves begin to change
How you've made my life a story
Filled with whirls you've rearranged
So we meet again my heartache
Come and join me in my pain
You're the reason I remember
Every sweet and sad charade
So we meet again my heartache
Come and sit with me a while
Rest your head upon my shoulder
Hide your face beneath my smile
So we meet again my heartache
Hold the glasses stilled with wine
I hope you join me in my toast, my ghoulish host
And maybe stay a while this time.

Alone in this house again tonight
I got the TV on, the sound turned down and a bottle of wine
There's pictures of you and I on the walls around me
The way that it was and could have been surrounds me
I'll never get over you walkin' away
I've never been the kind to ever let my feelings show
And I thought that bein' strong meant never losin' your self-control
But I'm just drunk enough to let go of my pain
To hell with my pride, let it fall like rain
From my eyes
Tonight I wanna cry
Would it help if I turned a sad song on
"All By Myself" would sure hit me hard now that you're gone
Or maybe unfold some old yellow lost love letters
It's gonna hurt bad before it gets better
But I'll never get over you by hidin' this way
Cause I've never been the kind to ever let my feelings show
And I thought that bein' strong meant never losin' your self-control
But I'm just drunk enough to let go of my pain
To hell with my pride, let it fall like rain
From my eyes
Tonight I wanna cry
I've never been the kind to ever let my feelings show
And I thought that bein' strong meant never losin' your self-control
But I'm just drunk enough to let go of my pain
To hell with this pride, let it fall like rain
From my eyes
Tonight I wanna cry.

studio album Red Pill Blues(2017). The song reached the top 10 in 23 countries,
including number 6 in the United States.
Maroon 5 is an American pop
rock and funk pop band from Los Angeles, California. It currently consists of
lead vocalist Adam Levine, keyboardist and rhythm guitarist Jesse Carmichael,
bassist Mickey Madden, lead guitarist James Valentine, drummer Matt Flynn, keyboardist
PJ Morton and multi-instrumentalist Sam Farrar. Original members Levine,
Carmichael, Madden, and drummer Ryan Dusick first came together as Kara's
Flowers in 1994, while they were still in high school.
After self-releasing their
independent álbum We Like Digging?, the band signed to Reprise Records and
released the album The Fourth World in 1997. The album garnered a tepid response, after which
the record label dropped the band and the members focused on college. In
2001, the band re-emerged as Maroon 5, pursuing a different direction and
adding guitarist Valentine. The band signed with Octone Records, an independent
record label with a separate joint venture relationship with J Records and
released their debut album Songs About Jane in June 2002. Aided by its lead
single, "Harder to Breathe", which received heavy airplay, the album
peaked at number six on the Billboard 200 chart, and went platinum in 2004. The
band won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2005. In 2006, Dusick left the
band after suffering from serious wrist and shoulder injuries and was replaced
by Matt Flynn.
The band's second álbum It
Won't Be Soon Before Long, was released in May 2007. It debuted at number one
on the US Billboard 200 chart and the lead single "Makes Me Wonder",
became the band's first number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2010,
the band released the third álbum Hands All Over, to mixed reviews,
re-releasing a year later to include the single "Moves like Jagger",
which topped the Billboard Hot 100. In 2012, Carmichael left the
group and was replaced by musician PJ Morton, as the band released the fourth
album Overexposed, with the song "One More Night", topping the Billboard
Hot 100 chart for nine consecutive weeks.
In 2014, Carmichael
rejoined the band alongside Morton to record the fifth álbum V(pronounced:
"five"), with the band signed a new label, Interscope Records and
Levine's own label 222 Records. Following the release of V, it reached number
one on the Billboard 200 chart. In 2016, Maroon 5 recruited their long-time
collaborator Sam Farrar, as the band continued for the sixth studio álbum Red
Pill Blues, which was released in November 2017. For the addition of Morton and Farrar, which

best-selling music artists.
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, no
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, oh
I don't wanna know
Wasted (wasted)
And the more I drink, the more I think about you
Oh no, no, I can't take it
Baby, every place I go reminds me of you
Do you think of me? Of what we used to be?
Is it better now that I'm not around?
My friends are actin' strange
They don't bring up your name
Are you happy now?
Are you happy now?
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, no
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, oh
I don't wanna know
And every time I go out, yeah
I hear it from this one, I hear it from that one
That you got someone new
Yeah, I see but don't believe it
Even in my head you're still in my bed
Maybe I'm just a fool
Do you think of me? Of what we used to be?
Is it better now that I'm not around?
My friends are actin' strange
They don't bring up your name
Are you happy now?
Are you happy now?
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, no
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, oh
I don't wanna know
Wasted (wasted)
And the more I drink, the more I think about you
Oh no, no, I can't take it
Do you think I should just go home without you?
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, no
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, oh
I don't wanna know, know, know, know (I don't wanna know)
Who's taking you home, home, home, home
And loving you so, so, so, so (and loving you so)
The way I used to love you, oh (the way I used to love you)
I don't wanna know, know, know, know
(You) who's taking you home, home, home, home
(You) and loving you so, so, so, so
The way I used to love you, oh
I don't wanna know.

OSMONDS

GENRE: ROCK
YEAR: 1971
The Osmonds are an American family music
group who reached the height of their fame in the early-to-mid 1970s. Currently
consisting of a duo of original members Merrill Osmond and Jay Osmond, the
group's best known configurations have been as a quartet (billed as the OsmondS Brothers) and as a quintet (as the Osmonds). The group has consisted of
siblings who are all members of a family of musicians from Ogden, Utah, who
have been in the public eye since the 1960s.
The OsmondS Brothers began as a barbershop
quartet consisting of brothers Alan, Wayne, Merrill and Jay.They were later
joined by younger siblings Donny and Jimmy, both of whom enjoyed success as
solo artists as well. With the addition of Donny, the group became known as the
Osmonds; performing both as teen idols and as a soft rock band, their peak
lasted from 1971 to 1975. Their only sister Marie, who rarely sang with her
brothers at that time, launched a successful career in 1973, both as a solo
artist and as Donny's duet partner. By 1976, the band was no longer producing
hit singles; that year, they transitioned into television with Donny &
Marie, a popular variety show that ran until 1979.
A revival of the original OsmondS Brothers lineup in the 1980s achieved moderate success in country music, and
both Donny and Marie separately made comebacks in their respective fields in
the late-1980s. The Osmonds have sold 77 million records worldwide.
The quartet continued to perform
through their 50th anniversary in 2007, at which point Alan and later Wayne
retired due to health issues; Jimmy was recruited after Alan's retirement, with
the group performing as a trio until Jimmy suffered a stroke and retired in
2018. Alan's son David Osmond performed with the group in 2019. On October 14,
2019, the original OsmondS Brothers quartet reunited for CBS’ The Talk for
their sister Marie's 60th birthday, billed as the last ever appearance for the
lineup. The brothers performed "The Last Chapter," written as a
farewell song and introduced in 2018.Donny & Marie ended an 11-year Las
Vegas residency on November 16, 2019. Merrill and Jay continue to perform and
tour,as
does Donny as a solo artist.
Osmonds is the debut album
released by The Osmonds, the first under MGM as The Osmonds and the first to feature
Donny. The first single from the album, "One Bad Apple", became a number-one hit according to the Billboard Hot 100singles chart. The second single
from the album, "Sweet and Innocent", reached number seven, with the single sleeve
crediting group member Donny Osmondas the artist. The album reached number 14
on the Billboard Top
Lpschart
on February 27, 1971. It was certified Gold by the RIAAon September 13, 1971.
Dave Thompson of AllMusiccriticised the album's "Motown medley
that contrarily ranks among the least soulful excursions you could
imagine" and said that the album
"nevertheless finds them [the Osmonds] still putting performance ahead of
personality, and barely hinting at the heights they would soon be scaling".
You speak of
freedom as if it's just a word
Something you
don't think of because you're so secure
Well I wonder
what would happen
Do you think
you might complain
If one day you
woke up and found yourself in chains
Would it make
you think, think about life
Would it make
you think, think of what's right
Would it make
you think, make you think
Yeah, make you
think
Sorry can't
touch you, you're too far out ahead
Got no need to
worry about who's dying or who's dead
Take away your
shelter, lay you naked on the ground
With no one to
help you, do you think you like being down
Would it make
you think, think about life
Would it make
you think, think of what's right
Would it make
you think, make you think
Make you think
If some day you
looked up, saw the burning sun
Shining down
upon you and a voice said, "Tell me, son
Have you been a
true good brother?
Have you been a
friend to all?"
Would that kind
of grab you, put your back against the wall?
