Under the Table and Dreaming is the debut studio album from the Dave Matthews Band, released on September 27, 1994.
The album's first single was "What Would You Say", featuring John Popper of Blues Traveler on harmonica. Two other singles from the album followed, "Ants Marching" and "Satellite". By March 16, 2000, the album had sold six million copies, and was certified 6× platinum by the RIAA.
"What Would You Say" is a song by American rock group Dave Matthews Band. It was released in September 1994 as the lead single from their debut álbum Under the Table and Dreaming. It reached #11 on the Modern Rock Tracks chart. In June 1995 it peaked at #9 on the Mainstream Top 40 chart. John Popper of Blues Traveler appears as a guest performer, playing the harmonica.
Dave Matthews Band (also known by the initialism DMB) is an American rock band, formed in Charlottesville, Virginia in 1991. The band's founding members were singer-songwriter and guitarist Dave Matthews, bassist Stefan Lessard, drummer and backing vocalist Carter Beauford, violinist and backing vocalist Boyd Tinsley, and saxophonist LeRoi Moore. As of February 2018, Matthews, Lessard and Beauford are the only remaining founding members still performing with the band.
Dave Matthews Band's 1994 major label debut album, Under the Table and Dreaming, brought the band worldwide fame and was eventually certified six times platinum. As of 2018, the band had sold more than 20 million concert tickets and a combined total of 38 million CDs and DVDs. Their 2018 album, Come Tomorrow, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, making DMB the first band to have seven consecutive studio albums debut at the peak. The band won the 1996 Grammy Award for Best Rock Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group for "So Much to Say".
A jam band, Dave Matthews Band is renowned for its live shows. The band is known for playing songs differently each performance; this practice has become a staple of their live shows since the early 1990s.
(…)According to Billboard magazine, the band's new studio album had been scheduled to be released in July by RCA Records, but in an interview with the Brisbane Times on May 4, 2007, Stefan Lessard stated, "We're on a bit of a creative break as far as working in the studio–we've been in pre-production for a long time, but we'll get more serious later in the year."
On July 7, 2007, Dave Matthews Band performed on the American Live Earth concert at Giants Stadium.
On August 1, 2007, the band kicked off their annual summer tour in Mansfield, Massachusetts. The tour was shorter than most Dave Matthews Band summer tours, with only 37 shows. This tour saw the live debut of songs that the band had been working on in the studio earlier in the year with Mark Batson, including "#27", "Cornbread", as well as the dark and unique "A Dream So Real.", "A Dream So Real" would only be played once after the 2007 Summer Tour, at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center on June 21, 2008, featuring Matthews playing keyboard. Supporting acts for the tour included Toots and the Maytals, The Roots, and Robert Randolph and the Family Band.

Alcione Dias Nazareth (São Luís, 21 de novembro de 1947) é uma cantora, compositora e instrumentista brasileira.
Sendo uma das mais notórias sambistas do país, a cantora recebeu a alcunha de Rainha do Samba. Com mais de 50 álbuns de estúdio e ao vivo, vendeu a marca de 8 milhões cópias no mundo todo.
Alcione Dias Nazareth nasceu em São Luís, Maranhão, no dia 21 de novembro de 1947. O nome de batismo foi ideia do pai, inspirado na personagem Alcíone, a protagonista do romance espírita Renúncia, psicografado por Chico Xavier. Ela é a quarta dos nove irmãos: Wilson, João Carlos, Ubiratan, Alcione, Ribamar, Jofel, Ivone, Maria Helena e Solange. Alcione tem mais nove irmãos que seu pai teve com outras mulheres. Sua mãe chegou a amamentar algumas dessas crianças, por considerar que as crianças não poderiam ser culpadas pelas traições do marido.
Desde pequena, graças ao pai policial e integrante da banda de sua corporação, João Carlos Dias Nazareth, inserida no meio musical maranhense, Alcione fez sua primeira apresentação já aos doze anos. O pai foi mestre da banda da Polícia Militar do Maranhão e professor de música. Além disso, foi compositor e entusiasta do bumba-meu-boi, folguedo típico da capital maranhense. Foi ele quem lhe ensinou, ainda cedo, a tocar diversos instrumentos de sopro, como o trompete e clarinete que começou a praticar aos nove anos.
Com essa idade, tocava e cantava em festas de amigos e familiares, e na Queimação de Palhinha da festa do Divino Espírito Santo. Sua mãe, Filipa Teles Rodrigues, entretanto, guardava o desejo de que a filha aprendesse a tocar acordeão ou piano. Não queria que Alcione aprendesse a tocar instrumentos de sopro temendo que a filha ficasse tuberculosa, crendice comum à época.
Sua primeira apresentação profissional foi aos 12 anos, na Orquestra Jazz Guarani, regida por seu pai. Certa noite, o crooner da orquestra ficou rouco, sendo substituído pela menina. Na ocasião, cantou a canção "Pombinha Branca" e o fado "Ai, Mouraria".
Alcione afirmou que seu pai era "bom homem" e incentivava as filhas a serem independentes desde muito cedo, a nunca obedecerem a homem nenhum, além de lhes ensinar valores morais rígidos. Aos 18 anos de idade formou-se como professora primária na Escola de Curso Normal. Lecionou por dois anos, quando foi demitida aos 20 anos, por ensinar a seus alunos como se tocava trompete, que seu pai lhe ensinou quando pequena, querendo passar o aprendizado que recebeu, mas isso não agradou à direção da escola, que na época era muito rígida
Emílio Vitalino Santiago (Rio de Janeiro, 6 de dezembro de 1946—Rio de Janeiro, 20 de março de 2013) foi um cantor brasileiro. Em um congresso de otorrinos e cirurgiões de cabeça e pescoço, fonoaudiólogos comentaram que as análises técnicas da voz de Emílio Santiago mostravam que o cantor tinha a voz mais perfeita do Brasil.
Seu primeiro LP foi lançado pela CID em 1975, com canções esquecidas de compositores consagrados como Ivan Lins, Gilberto Gil, João Donato, Jorge Ben, Nelson Cavaquinho, Guilherme de Brito, Durval Ferreira, João Nogueira, Paulo César Pinheiro, Marcos Valle, Paulo Sérgio Valle, dentre outros. Transferiu-se no ano seguinte para a Philips–Polygram, permanecendo neste selo até 1984, pelo qual lançou dez álbuns, todos com pouca repercussão. Além de ganhar o concurso Rede Globo MPB Shell em 1982, com a canção Pelo Amor de Deus, foi escolhido três anos depois como melhor intérprete no Festival dos Festivais, também da Rede Globo, com a canção Elis Elis.
Uma grande fase de sucesso do cantor iniciou-se em 1988, com o lançamento do LP Aquarela Brasileira, pela Som Livre, um projeto especial dedicado exclusivamente ao repertório de música brasileira. Inicialmente, planejava-se lançar apenas um LP, mas devido à grande repercussão e ao sucesso, foram lançados sete trabalhos da série Aquarela Brasileira. O projeto ultrapassou a marca de quatro milhões de cópias vendidas. Nesta época, gravou músicas que se tornaram sucessos como Saigon, em Aquarela Brasileira 2(1989), e Verdade Chinesa, em Aquarela Brasileira 3(1990). Lançou também outros projetos como um tributo ao cantor Dick Farney(Perdido de amor, de 1995) e regravando clássicos do bolero hispânico(Dias de luna, de 1996).
Assinou com a Sony Music em 2000. O disco que marca a estreia na nova gravadora é Bossa Nova, que trouxe muitos clássicos do gênero e também rendeu um DVD. Prosseguiu com Um sorriso nos lábios(2001), um tributo a Gonzaguinha, e outro ao compositor acreano João Donato em 2003.

Nelly Kim Furtado ComIH (/fɜːrˈtɑːdoʊ/,Portuguese:[fuɾˈtaðu]; born December 2, 1978) is a Portuguese-Canadian singer and songwriter. Furtado is known for her musical versatility and reinvention, commonly associated with world music. She first gained fame with her trip hop inspired debut album, Whoa, Nelly! (2000), which was a critical and commercial success that spawned two top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, "I'm Like a Bird" and "Turn Off the Light". The first of the two singles won her a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. Furtado's introspective folk-heavy 2003 sophomore album, Folklore explored her Portuguese roots. Its singles received moderate success in Europe, but the album's underperformance compared to her debut was regarded as a sophomore slump.
Furtado's third album, Loose(2006), was a smash hit and became her bestselling album with more than 12 million copies sold worldwide, also making it one of the bestselling albums of the 2000s. Considered a radical image reinvention, Furtado continued to explore her Latin heritage while leaning heavier into hip hop. The album spawned four successful number one singles worldwide; "Promiscuous", "Maneater", "Say It Right", and "All Good Things (Come to an End)". Her Timbaland collaboration "Give It to Me" (2007) in the same era also topped the charts in the US and overseas. Furtado's critically acclaimed duet with James Morrison, "Broken Strings" also topped the charts in Europe in 2008.

The Spirit Indestructible is the fifth studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter Nelly Furtado. The album was released on 14 September 2012. Furtado served as the executive producer for the album as well as a principal writer. Further production on The Spirit Indestructible comes from the likes of Darkchild, Salaam Remi, Mike Angelakos, Bob Rock, Fraser T Smith, Di Genius, The Demolition Crew, John Shanks and Tiësto.
Four singles were released from the album; "Big Hoops (Bigger the Better)" was released as the album's lead single, then the second European single and title track was "Spirit Indestructible", while "Parking Lot" was chosen as second North American single. The third European single was "Waiting for the Night". The album was nominated for the Juno Award for Pop Album of the Year in 2013.

Multishow ao Vivo: Ivete Sangalo no Madison Square Garden é o décimo primeiro álbum da cantora brasileira Ivete Sangalo. O álbum foi gravado durante uma única apresentação ao vivo, realizada em 4 de setembro de 2010 no Madison Square Garden, em Nova Iorque. É o quarto DVD da cantora, sendo o seu primeiro internacional. Antes de seu lançamento, em 7 de dezembro, o disco já havia vendido mais de 300 mil cópias somente em sua pré-venda e, após o lançamento, o projeto rendeu à cantora uma certificação de ouro, para o CD, e diamante, para o DVD.
O projeto teve a assinatura de Nick Wickham, diretor de grandes cantores internacionais como Madonna e Beyoncé, enquanto o figurino ficou por conta de Basso & Brooke. O projeto foi lançado como disco compacto, download digital, disco digital de vídeo e HD DVD, sendo disponibilizadas mais de 50 mil cópias, o que rende automaticamente à cantora um disco de ouro. O canal brasileiro Multishow exibiu, em 5 de dezembro, dois dias antes do lançamento do projeto, um especial sobre a gravação.
O projeto foi idealizado após Sangalo ter assistido a um concerto de Beyoncé no Madison Square Garden. Em 2009, Sangalo já havia confirmado aos fãs que gravaria um DVD em Nova Iorque e, então começou os preparativos para a realização do projeto. Segundo o jornal baiano Correio, foram investido em torno de 5 milhões de dólares, além da colaboração de 800 pessoas trabalhando com 30 toneladas de equipamentos e, originalmente, o álbum contaria com a participação de uma série de artistas: o cantor brasileiro Seu Jorge, a luso-canadense Nelly Furtado, o britânico James Morrison, o colombiano Juanes, o argentino Diego Torres e a dupla porto-riquenha Wisin y Yandel. No entanto, Morrison e a dupla não puderam estar em Nova Iorque, devido a problemas pessoais. Em 11 de setembro, Ivete Sangalo esteve em Dallas, onde participou de uma apresentação do conjunto estadunidense Dave Matthews Band, interpretando a canção "You and Me", que está presente no DVD como faixa bônus.
