Charles Eugene Boone (born June 1, 1934) is an American singer, composer,
actor, writer, television personality, motivational speaker, and spokesman. He
was a successful pop singer in the United States during the 1950s and early
1960s. He sold more than 45 million records, had 38 Top 40 hits, and appeared
in more than 12 Hollywood films.
According to
Billboard, Boone was the second-biggest charting artist
of the late 1950s, behind only Elvis Presley, and was ranked at No. 9 in its listing of the
Top 100 Top 40 Artists 1955–1995. Until the 2010s, Boone held the Billboard record
for spending 220 consecutive weeks on the charts with one or more songs each
week.
At the age
of 23, he began hosting a half-hour ABC variety
television series, The Pat Boone Chevy Showroom, which aired for 115 episodes (1957–1960). Many
musical performers, including Edie Adams, Andy Williams, Pearl Bailey, and Johnny Mathis, made appearances on the show. His cover versions of rhythm and blues hits had a noticeable effect on the
development of the broad popularity of rock and roll. Elvis Presley was the opening act for a 1955
Pat Boone show in Brooklyn, Ohio.
As an author, Boone had a number-one
bestseller in the 1950s (Twixt Twelve and Twenty, Prentice-Hall). In the 1960s, he focused on gospel music and is a member of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. He continues to perform and speak as a motivational
speaker, a television personality, and a conservative political commentator.
Dimmi quando tu
verrai
Dimmi quando quando quando
L'anno, il giorno e l'ora in cui
Forse tu mi bacerai
Tell me when will you be mine
Tell me, quando, quando, quando
We can share a love divine
Please donґt make me wait again
Every momentґs a day
Every day seems a lifetime
Let me show you the way
To a joy beyond compare
I canґt wait a moment more
Tell me, quando, quando, quando
Say itґs me that you adore
And then, darling, tell me when
Every momentґs a day
Every day seems a lifetime
Let me show you the way
To a joy beyond compare
I canґt wait a moment more
Tell me, quando, quando, quando
Say itґs me that you adore
And then, darling, tell me when
Oh, my darling, tell me when
Dimmi quando, tell me when.
