One Direction, often shortened to 1D, are an English-Irish pop boy band formed in London, England in 2010. The group are composed of Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson; former member Zayn Malik departed from the group in March 2015. The group signed with Simon Cowell's record label Syco Records after forming and finishing third in the seventh series of the British televised singing competition The X Factor in 2010.
Propelled to global success by social media, One Direction's five albums, Up All Night(2011), Take Me Home(2012), Midnight Memories(2013), Four(2014), and Made in the A.M.(2015), topped charts in most major markets, and generated hit singles including "What Makes You Beautiful" (their first number one on the UK Singles Chart, and the highest debut for a British act on the US Billboard Hot 100 since 1998), "Live While We're Young", "Best Song Ever", "Story of My Life" and "Drag Me Down". After the release of Four, One Direction became the first band in the US Billboard 200 history to have their first four albums debut at number one. Their third album, Midnight Memories, was the best-selling album worldwide of 2013.
Considered teen idols, One Direction were often subject to fan hysteria. They embarked on four world tours, two of which were all-stadium. The band's Where We Are Tour, in support of Midnight Memories, was the highest-grossing concert tour in 2014, the highest-grossing tour by a vocal group in history, and the 15th highest-grossing concert tour of all time, grossing $290.2 million (unadjusted for inflation). The band went on hiatus in January 2016, allowing all members to pursue other projects.
As of 2020, the band have sold a total of 70 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling boy bands of all time. The band have won nearly 200 awards, including seven Brit Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, six Billboard Music Awards, seven American Music Awards (including Artist of the Year in 2014 and 2015), and 28 Teen Choice Awards. In 2013, they earned an estimated $75 million, becoming the second highest earning celebrity under 30 according to Forbes. As the world's best-selling artist of 2013, the group was named the Global Recording Artist of the Year by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. In 2014, Billboard named the band "Artist of the Year". Forbes ranked them as the fourth highest-earning celebrities in the world in 2015, and second in 2016.
One Direction’s fourth studio album, the aptly titled Four, is only one week away, and the guys have stoked fan anticipation by releasing another rock anthem on iTunes to preview the new full-length.
Previously released tracks “Steal My Girl” and “Ready To Run” suggested that Four was going to be a guitar-heavy follow-up to last year’s Midnight Memories, and “Where Do Broken Hearts Go” continues down the road of big chords and harmonies designed to echo through stadiums. Belinda Carlisle’s “Heaven is a Place on Earth” is an obvious point of reference, but One Direction also sounds like it’s trying to swallow all of popular music in the 1980’s — from Journey to George Michael to “Like A Prayer” — on the song.
Counted all my mistakes and there’s only one
Standing up from the list of the things I’ve done
All the rest of my crimes don’t come close
To the look on your face when I let you go

So I built you a house from a broken home
Then I wrote you a song with the words you spoke
Yeah, it took me some time but I figured out
How to fix up a heart that I let down

Now I’m searching every lonely place
Every corner calling out your name
Trynna find you but I just don’t know
Where do broken hearts go?
Where do broken hearts go?

Yeah, the taste of your lips on the tip of my tongue
It’s at the top of the list of the things I want
Mind is running in circles of you and me
Anyone in between is the enemy

Shadows come with the pain that you’re running from
Love was something you never heard enough
Yeah, it took me some time but I figured out
How to fix up a heart that I let down

Now I’m searching every lonely place
Every corner calling out your name
Trynna find you but I just don’t know
Where do broken hearts go?

Are you sleeping, baby, by yourself?
Or are you giving it to someone else?
Trynna find you but I just don’t know
Where do broken hearts go?
Where do broken hearts go?

Tell me now, tell me now
Tell me where you go when you feel afraid?
Where do broken hearts go?

Tell me now, tell me now
Tell me will you ever love me again?
Love me again?

Now I’m searching every lonely place
Every corner calling out your name
Trynna find you but I just don’t know
Where do broken hearts go?

Are you sleeping, baby, by yourself?
Or are you giving it to someone else?
Trynna find you but I just don’t know
Where do broken hearts go?

Tell me where you’re hiding now?
Where do broken hearts go?
Come on, baby, 'cause I need you now
Where do broken hearts go?
Tell me, 'cause I’m 10 feet down
Where do broken hearts go?

Come on, baby, come and get me out
Come on, baby, come and get me out
Come on, baby, 'cause I need you now

Where do broken hearts go?
Where do broken hearts go?
Where do broken hearts go?
Where do broken hearts go?

DAYLIGHT

MAROON 5
SONGWRITERS: MAX MARTIN; MASON LEVY; ADAM LEVINE & SAM MARTIN
COUNTRY: U. S. A.
ALBUM: OVEREXPOSED
LABEL: A&M OCTONE
GENRE: SOFT ROCK
YEAR: 2012

"Daylight" is a song performed by American band Maroon 5. The song was released on November 8, 2012, as the third single from their fourth studio album Overexposed(2012). Lead singer, Adam Levine co-wrote and co-produced it with Max Martin and Mason "MdL" Levy, with additional writing from Sam Martin. The song is a soft rock ballad about realizing that one has to move on from an old relationship, but not fully wanting to leave just yet.
The song received a mixed reception from music critics. Some criticized Levine's vocals and called it a filler among the dance-oriented tracks on the album, while others felt a Coldplay inspiration in the end of the chorus.

Here I am waiting, I'll have to leave soon
Why am I holding on?
We knew this day would come, we knew it all along
How did it come so fast?

This is our last night but it's late
And I'm trying not to sleep
'Cause I know, when I wake
I will have to slip away

And when the daylight comes I'll have to go
But tonight I'm gonna hold you so close
Cause in the daylight we'll be on our own
But tonight I need to hold you so close

Here I am staring at your perfection
In my arms, so beautiful
The sky is getting bright, the stars are burning out
Somebody slow it down

This is way too hard
'Cause I know when the sun comes up I will leave
This is my last glance
That will soon be memory

And when the daylight comes I'll have to go
But tonight I'm gonna hold you so close
Cause in the daylight we'll be on our own
But tonight I need to hold you so close

I never wanted to stop
Because I don't wanna start all over, start all over
I was afraid of the dark
But now it's all that I want, all that I want, all that I want

And when the daylight comes I'll have to go
But tonight I'm gonna hold you so close
Cause in the daylight we'll be on our own
But tonight I need to hold you so close

And when the daylight comes I'll have to go
But tonight I'm gonna hold you so close
Cause in the daylight we'll be on our own
But tonight I need to hold you so close.

Daft Punk were a French electronic music duo formed in 1993 in Paris by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter. Widely regarded as one of the most influential acts in dance music history, they achieved popularity in the late 1990s as part of the French house movement. They garnered critical acclaim and commercial success in the years following, combining elements of house music with funk, techno, disco, indie rock and pop.
After Bangalter and Homem-Christo's indie rock band Darlin' disbanded, they began experimenting with drum machines, synthesisers and the talk box. Their debut studio álbum Homework was released by Virgin Records in 1997 to positive reviews, backed by singles "Around the World" and "Da Funk". From 1999, they assumed robot personas with helmets, outfits and gloves for public appearances to preserve their identities; they made few media appearances. They were managed from 1996 to 2008 by Pedro Winter, the head of Ed Banger Records.
Daft Punk's second album, Discovery(2001), had further success, supported by hit singles "One More Time", "Digital Love" and "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger". The album became the basis for an animated film, Interstella 5555, supervised by a Japanese animator Leiji Matsumoto. Daft Punk's third album, Human After All(2005), received mixed reviews, though the singles "Robot Rock" and "Technologic" achieved success in the United Kingdom. The duo directed their first film, Electroma, an avant-garde science fiction film, in 2006. They toured throughout 2006 and 2007 and released the live album Alive 2007, which won a Grammy Award for Best Electronic/Dance Album; the tour is credited for popularising dance music in North America. Daft Punk composed the score for the 2010 film Tron: Legacy.
In 2013, Daft Punk left Virgin for Columbia Records and released their fourth album, Random Access Memories, to acclaim; lead single "Get Lucky" reached the top 10 in the charts of 32 countries. Random Access Memories won five Grammy Awards in 2014, including Album of the Year and Record of the Year for "Get Lucky". In 2016, Daft Punk gained their only number one on the Billboard Hot 100 with "Starboy", a collaboration with the Weeknd. Rolling Stone ranked them the 12th greatest musical duo. They announced their split in 2021.
"Get Lucky" is a song by French electronic music duo Daft Punk, featuring American singer Pharrell Williams and American guitarist Nile Rodgers. It was co-written by all of them. Daft Punk released the song as the lead single from their fourth and final studio album, Random Access Memories, on 19 April 2013. Before its release as a single, "Get Lucky" was featured in television advertisements broadcast during Saturday Night Live, after which Rodgers and Williams announced their involvement in the track. "Get Lucky" is a house-inspired disco, funk, and pop track with lyrics that, according to Williams, are about the good fortune of connecting with someone, as well as sexual chemistry. "Get Lucky" has since received acclaim from critics, with a number of them praising Williams' vocals and Rodgers' guitar licks.
The song reached number one in several countries, including Daft Punk's native France, where the Syndicat National de l'Édition Phonographique(SNEP) certified it diamond. "Get Lucky" peaked at number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 for five consecutive weeks, giving Daft Punk their first top-10 hit in the United States. In the UK, the single topped the UK Singles Chart for four weeks and was the second best-selling single of 2013 with 1,308,007 copies sold. The song won multiple awards, including Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards. Daft Punk performed it on many television programmes and awards shows, including the 56th Annual Grammy Awards, during which Stevie Wonder joined Rodgers, Williams and Daft Punk onstage to perform the song.
Like the legend of the Phoenix
Our ends were beginnings
What keeps the planet spinning
The force from the beginning

We've come too far
To give up who we are
So let's raise the bar
And our cups to the stars
She's up all night 'til the sun
I'm up all night to get some
She's up all night for good fun
I'm up all night to get lucky
We're up all night 'til the sun
We're up all night to get some
We're up all night for good fun
We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky

The present has no rhythm
Your gift keeps on giving
What is this I'm feeling?
If you want to leave, I'm with it

We've come too far
To give up who we are
So let's raise the bar
And our cups to the stars
She's up all night 'til the sun
I'm up all night to get some
She's up all night for good fun
I'm up all night to get lucky
We're up all night 'til the sun
We're up all night to get some
We're up all night for good fun
We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky

We're up all night to get
We're up all night to get
We're up all night to get
We're up all night to get
We're up all night to get
We're up all night to get
We're up all night to get
We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky
We're up all night to get lucky

We've come too far
To give up who we are
So let's raise the bar

ALBUM: BLURRED LINES
LABEL: STAR TRAKE
GENRE: R & B
YEAR: 2013

Robin Alan Thicke (born March 10, 1977) is an American-Canadian singer, songwriter and record producer.
He has collaborated with numerous artists, such as Nicki Minaj, 3T, T.I., Christina Aguilera, Jessie J, K. Michelle, Pharrell, DJ Cassidy, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Flo Rida, Brandy, Kid Cudi, Mary J. Blige and even composed songs for Marc Anthony. Thicke worked on albums such as Usher's Confessions and Lil Wayne's Tha Carter III, while releasing his own R&B singles in the United States including "Lost Without U", "Magic", and "Sex Therapy". He gained international fame in 2013 with his single "Blurred Lines", which reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100. He is currently a judge on the Fox musical competition show The Masked Singer.
Thicke is the son of actress Gloria Loring and actor Alan Thicke. He married actress Paula Patton in 2005; in 2014, their separation and divorce were covered extensively by the tabloid press.
"Blurred Lines" is a song by American singer Robin Thicke featuring fellow American singer Pharrell Williams and American rapper T.I., from Thicke's studio album of the same name(2013). The song was solely produced by Williams. It was released as the album's lead single on March 26, 2013, through Star Trak Recordings and Interscope Records. For the lyrics, Thicke said the song is about his former wife Paula Patton. Musically, "Blurred Lines" is na R&B and pop track with instrumentation consisting of bass guitar, drums, and percussion.
The single was negatively reviewed by many music critics, with some saying it glorified rape culture. Commercially, the song topped the charts of 25 countries and reached the top five of six others. "Blurred Lines" spent 12 consecutive weeks atop the US Billboard Hot 100, making it the longest-running single of 2013 in the United States. In June 2018, the song was certified a diamond certification by the Recording Industry Association of America(RIAA). It became one of the best-selling singles of all time, with sales of 14.8 million, simultaneously breaking the record for the largest radio audience in history. The song was nominated for awards, including Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards.
A music video for "Blurred Lines" was directed by Diane Martel and was released on March 20, 2013, while an unrated version was released on March 28. In both videos, Thicke, T.I., and Williams are featured with models Emily Ratajkowski, Elle Evans, and Jessi M'Bengue performing several activities, including the models snuggling in bed with Thicke and sitting on a stuffed dog. After being on the site for just under one week, the unrated version of the video was removed from YouTube for violating the site's terms of service. Many critics panned both visuals, with some calling it misogynist and sexist.
To promote the song, Thicke performed on televised live events including the 2013 iHeartRadio Music Festival, the The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and a highly controversial performance with American singer Miley Cyrus at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. The song became the subject of a bitter legal dispute with the family of American singer Marvin Gaye and Bridgeport Music, who argued the song infringed on copyrights to Gaye's 1977 single "Got to Give It Up". Williams and Thicke were found liable for copyright infringement by a federal jury in March 2015, and Gaye was awarded posthumous songwriting credit based on the royalties pledged to his estate.
Everybody get up
Everybody get up
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey

If you can't hear what I'm trying to say
If you can't read from the same page
Maybe I'm going deaf
Maybe I'm going blind
Maybe I'm out of my mind

Ok, now he was close
Tried to domesticate you
But you're an animal
Baby, it's in your nature
Just let me liberate you (hey, hey, hey)
You don't need no papers (hey, hey, hey)
That man is not your maker
And that's why I'm gon' take a good girl

I know you want it
I know you want it
I know you want it

You're a good, girl
Can't let it get past me
You're far from plastic
Talk about getting blasted

I hate these blurred lines
I know you want it
I know you want it
I know you want it

But you're a good girl
The way you grab me
Must wanna get nasty
Go ahead, get at me (everybody get up)

What do they make dreams for
When you got them jeans on?
What do we need steam for?
You the hottest bitch in this place

I feel so lucky (hey, hey, hey)
You wanna hug me (hey, hey, hey)
What rhymes with, "Hug me?" (hey, hey, hey)

Ok, now he was close
Tried to domesticate you
But you're an animal
Baby, it's in your nature
Just let me liberate you (hey, hey, hey)
You don't need no papers (hey, hey, hey)
That man is not your maker
And that's why I'm gon' take a good girl

I know you want it
I know you want it
I know you want it

You're a good, girl
Can't let it get past me
You're far from plastic
Talk about getting blasted

I hate these blurred lines
I know you want it
I know you want it
I know you want it

But you're a good girl
The way you grab me
Must wanna get nasty
Go ahead, get at me (everybody get up)

One thing I ask of you
Let me be the one you back that ass to
Go, from Malibu to Paris, boo
Yeah, I had a bitch, but she ain't bad as you
So hit me up when you pass through
I'll give you something big enough to tear your ass in two
Swag on, even when you dress casual
I mean it's almost unbearable
In a hundred years not dare, would I
Pull a Pharside let you pass me by
Nothing like your last guy, he too square for you
He don't smack that ass and pull your hair like that
So I just watch and wait for you to salute
But you didn't pick
Not many women can refuse this pimpin'
I'm a nice guy, but don't get it if you get with me

Shake the vibe, get down, get up
Do it like it hurt, like it hurt
What you don't like work?

Baby, can you breathe?
I got this from Jamaica
It always works for me
Dakota to Decatur

No more pretending (hey, hey, hey)
'Cause now you winning (hey, hey, hey)
Here's our beginning
I always wanted a good girl

I know you want it
I know you want it
I know you want it

You're a good girl
Can't let it get past me
You're far from plastic
Talk about getting blasted

I hate these blurred lines
I know you want it
I know you want it
I know you want it

But you're a good girl
The way you grab me
Must wanna get nasty
Go ahead, get at me

Everybody get up
Everybody get up
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey.
