COUNTRY: U. S. A.
ALBUM: AMERICAN IDIOT

GENRE: ALTERNATIVE ROCK
YEAR: 2004

Green Day is an American rock band formed in the East Bay of California in 1987 by lead vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong and bassist and backing vocalist Mike Dirnt. For much of the band's career, they have been a trio with drummer Tré Cool, who replaced John Kiffmeyer in 1990 before the recording of the band's second studio album, Kerplunk(1991). Touring guitarist Jason White became a full-time member in 2012, but returned to his role as a touring member in 2016. Green Day was originally part of the late-'80s/early-'90s punk scene at the DIY 924 Gilman Street club in Berkeley, California. The band's early releases were with the independent record label Lookout! Records. In 1994, their major-label debut Dookie, released through Reprise Records, became a breakout success and eventually shipped over 10 million copies in the U.S. Green Day is credited alongside fellow California punk bands Sublime, the Offspring, and Rancid, with popularizing mainstream interest in punk rock in the U.S.
Though the albums Insomniac(1995), Nimrod(1997), and Warning(2000) did not match the success of Dookie, they were still successful with the former two reaching double platinum status while the latter achieved gold. Green Day's seventh album, a rock opera called American Idiot(2004), found popularity with a younger generation, selling six million copies in the U.S. Their next album, 21st Century Breakdown, was released in 2009 and achieved the band's best chart performance. It was followed by a trilogy of albums, ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tré!, released in September, November, and December 2012, respectively. The trilogy did not perform as well as expected commercially in comparison to their previous albums largely due to lack of promotion and Armstrong entering rehab. Their twelfth studio album, Revolution Radio, was released in October 2016 and became their third to debut at Nº. 1 on the Billboard 200. The band's thirteenth studio album, Father of All Motherfuckers, was released on February 7, 2020.
"Boulevard of Broken Dreams" is a song by American rock band Green Day. It is the fourth track from their seventh studio album American Idiot(2004). Reprise Records released "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" as the second single from American Idiot on November 29, 2004. The song's lyrics were written by lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong, and the music was composed by the band. Production was handled by Rob Cavallo and Green Day.
The song speaks from the point of view of American Idiot's main character, "Jesus of Suburbia", and is a moderate midtempo song characterized by somber and bleak lyrics. This is in contrast to the previous track on the album, "Holiday", which illustrates Jesus of Suburbia's high of being in The City. MTV's Green Day Makes a Video described "Holiday" as a party, and "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" as the subsequent hangover.
The song was ranked number one on Rolling Stone's Reader's Choice: Singles of the Decade list in 2009 and number 65 on the 100 Best Songs of the Decade list in the same year. It has sold over 2 million copies in the United States as of 2010. The single peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100, behind "Candy Shop" by 50 Cent and Olivia, making it Green Day's most successful song in the United States. The song was the ninth-highest-selling single of the 2000–2009 decade with worldwide sales exceeding 5 million copies. "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" remains one of Green Day's signature songs.

I walk a lonely road
The only one that I have ever known
Don't know where it goes
But it's home to me, and I walk alone

I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Where the city sleeps
And I'm the only one, and I walk alone

I walk alone, I walk alone
I walk alone, I walk a-

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
Till then I walk alone

Ah-ah, ah-ah, ah-ah, aaah-ah
Ah-ah, ah-ah, ah-ah

I'm walking down the line
That divides me somewhere in my mind
On the borderline
Of the edge, and where I walk alone

Read between the lines
What's fucked up, and everything's alright
Check my vital signs
To know I'm still alive, and I walk alone

I walk alone, I walk alone
I walk alone, I walk a-

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
Till then I walk alone

Ah-ah, ah-ah, ah-ah, aaah-ah
Ah-ah, ah-ah
I walk alone, I walk a-

I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams
Where the city sleeps
And I'm the only one, and I walk a-

My shadow's the only one that walks beside me
My shallow heart's the only thing that's beating
Sometimes I wish someone out there will find me
Till then I walk alone.

Linkin Park is an American rock band from Agoura Hills, California. The band's current lineup comprises vocalist/rhythm guitarist/keyboardist Mike Shinoda, lead guitarist Brad Delson, bassist Dave Farrell, DJ/turntablist Joe Hahn and drummer Rob Bourdon, all of whom are founding members. Vocalists Mark Wakefield and Chester Bennington are former members of the band. Categorized as alternative rock, Linkin Park's earlier music spanned a fusion of heavy metal and hip hop, while they later transitioned into more electronica- and pop-influenced music.
Formed in 1996, Linkin Park rose to international fame with their debut studio album, Hybrid Theory(2000), which became certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America(RIAA). Released during the peak of the nu metal scene, the album's singles' heavy airplay on MTV led the singles "One Step Closer", "Crawling" and "In the End" all to chart highly on the Mainstream Rock chart; the latter crossed over to the pop chart. Their second album, Meteora(2003), continued the band's success. The band explored experimental sounds on their third album, Minutes to Midnight (2007). By the end of the decade, Linkin Park was among the most successful and popular rock acts.
"What I've Done" is a song by American rock band Linkin Park. It was released as the first single from their third studio album, Minutes to Midnight(2007), and is the sixth track. The song is composed in the key of G minor. The song was released as a radio single on April 1, 2007, as a digital download on April 2, and as a CD single on April 30. The live version of "What I've Done" from Road to Revolution: Live at Milton Keynes was nominated for Best Hard Rock Performance at the 52nd Grammy Awards, but did not win. It also serves as the main theme of the 2007 science fiction film Transformers and also appears on Transformers: The Album (2007). Being certified five times platinum by the RIAA, it is the band's most commercially successful single in terms of pure sales, and reached number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100.
"What I've Done" was featured in the video game Guitar Hero World Tour. In January 2011, it was released in a Linkin Park DLC pack for Rock Band 3. The song is also a B-side to the UK single of "Iridescent". An instrumental version of the song is currently used by Sky UK as background music for their interactive services.

In this farewell
There's no blood, there's no alibi
'Cause I've drawn regret
From the truth of a thousand lies
So let mercy come and wash away

What I've done
I'll face myself
To cross out what I've become
Erase myself
And let go of what I've done

Put to rest
What you thought of me
While I clean this slate
With the hands of uncertainty
So let mercy come and wash away

What I've done
I'll face myself
To cross out what I've become
Erase myself
And let go of what I've done

For what I've done
I start again
And whatever pain may come
Today this ends
I'm forgiving

What I've done
I'll face myself
To cross out what I've become
Erase myself
And let go of what I've done

What I've done
(Na-na, na, na)
(Na-na, na, na)

Forgiving what I've done
(Na-na, na, na)
(Na-na, na, na)
(Na-na, na, na)
(Na-na, na).

COUNTRY: CANADA
ALBUM: ALL THE RIGHT REASONS
LABEL: ROADRUNNER RECORDS
GENRE: POP ROCK
YEAR: 2006

Nickelback is a Canadian rock band formed in 1995 in Hanna, Alberta. It is composed of guitarist and lead vocalist Chad Kroeger, guitarist, keyboardist and backing vocalist Ryan Peake, bassist Mike Kroeger, and drummer Daniel Adair. It went through several drummer changes between 1995 and 2005, achieving its current lineup when Adair replaced Ryan Vikedal.
Nickelback is one of the most commercially successful Canadian rock bands, having sold more than 50 million albums worldwide. In 2009, Billboard ranked it the most successful rock group of that decade; "How You Remind Me" was the best-selling rock song and the fourth-best overall. The band ranked at Nº 7 on the Billboard top artist of the decade list, with four albums among the publication's top albums of the decade.
The band signed with Roadrunner Records in 1999 and re-released its once-independent álbum The State. This album was commercially successful, as was its follow-up, Silver Side Up, in 2001. The band then released its biggest hit, "How You Remind Me", a Nº 1 on the Billboard and Canadian Singles Charts. The fourth album, The Long Road, was released in 2003 and spawned five singles, including Canadian Nº 1 "Someday", which also reached Nº 7 on the Billboard Hot 100.
In 2005, the band's best-selling album to date, All the Right Reasons, produced three top-ten and five top-twenty singles on the Billboard Hot 100, including "Photograph", "Far Away", and "Rockstar". Dark Horse sold well in 2008, producing eight singles, one cracking the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 and two in the top twenty. In 2011, the seventh album, Here and Now, topped the charts. The eighth, No Fixed Address, was released in 2014, followed by Feed the Machine in 2017.
Nickelback is based in Vancouver, British Columbia. It originally published through EMI Canada before signing a global distribution deal with Roadrunner Records. For Here and Now, it left EMI Canada for Universal Music Canada.
"Far Away" is a single by Canadian band Nickelback. Released in late 2005 or early 2006 in the United States and February 13, 2006 in the United Kingdom. It was released as the fourth U.S. single of All the Right Reasons, but the second in Europe. "Far Away" peaked at number eight in the United States, making All the Right Reasons the only Nickelback album to date to have more than one top ten hit. The band's lead singer and guitarist Chad Kroeger described this song on the Tour when in Australia as the "only real love song" that Nickelback has. He described many others as "being about love" but not solely about "being in love".
The song was re-released in the United Kingdom on September 22, 2008 following the success of "Rockstar" and the re-release of "Photograph". This release also reached number 40 in the UK singles chart, equalling its original chart peak, although this re-release was download-only.

This time, this place
Misused, mistakes
Too long, too late
Who was I to make you wait?

Just one chance, just one breath
Just in case there's just one left
'Cause you know, you know, you know

That I love you
I have loved you all along
And I miss you
Been far away, for far too long

I keep dreaming you'll be with me
And you'll never go
Stop breathing if I don't see you anymore

On my knees, I'll ask
Last chance for one last dance
'Cause with you; I'd withstand
All of hell to hold your hand

I'd give it all; I'd give for us
Give anything, but I won't give up
'Cause you know, you know, you know

That I love you
I have loved you all along
And I miss you
Been far away, for far too long

I keep dreaming you'll be with me
And you'll never go
Stop breathing if I don't see you anymore

So far away, so far away
Been far away, for far too long
So far away, so far away
Been far away, for far too long

But you know, you know, you know
I wanted, I'd wanted you to stay
'Cause I needed
I need to hear you say

That I love you (That I love you)
I have loved you all along
And I forgive you (And I forgive you)
For being away, for far too long

So keep breathing
'Cause I'm not leaving you anymore
Believe it
Hold on to me and never let me go

Keep breathing
'Cause I'm not leaving you anymore
Believe it
Hold on to me and never let me go

Keep breathing
Hold on to me and never let me go
Keep breathing
Hold on to me and never let me go.

All it'd take is one flight
We'd be in the same time zone
Looking through your timeline
Seeing all the rainbows, I
I got an idea
And I know that it sounds crazy
I just wanna see ya
Oh, I gotta ask

Do you got plans tonight?
I'm a couple hundred miles from Japan, and I
I was thinkin' I could fly to your hotel tonight
'Cause I can't get you off my mind
Can't get you off my mind
Can't get you off my mind (uh)

I could feel the tension
We could cut it with a knife
I know it's more than just a friendship
I can hear you think I'm right, yeah
Do I gotta convince you
That you shouldn't fall asleep?
It'll only be a couple hours
And I'm about to leave

Do you got plans tonight?
I'm a couple hundred miles from Japan, and I
I was thinkin' I could fly to your hotel tonight
'Cause I can't get you off my mind
Can't get you off my mind
Can't get you off my mind
Do you got plans tonight?
I was hopin' I could get lost in your Paradise
The only thing I'm thinkin' 'bout is you and I
'Cause I can't get you off my mind
Can't get you off my mind
I can't seem to get you off my mind

Let's get lost tonight (uh)
Let's get lost tonight
Baby, you and
I can't seem to get you off my mind
Let's get lost tonight
Let's get lost tonight
Baby, you and
I can't seem to get you off my mind

Do you got plans tonight?
I'm a couple hundred miles from Japan, and I
I was thinkin' I could fly to your hotel tonight
'Cause I can't get you off my mind
I can't get you off my mind
Do you got plans tonight, baby?
I was hopin' I could get lost in your paradise (paradise)
The only thing I'm thinkin' 'bout is you and I
And I can't get you off my mind
Can't get you off my mind
I can't seem to get you off my mind, yeah

Let's get lost tonight
Let's get lost tonight
Baby, you and
I can't seem to get you off my mind
Let's get lost tonight
Let's get lost tonight
Baby, you and
I can't seem to get you off my mind.
