What if we could pause time and stay in a certain moment forever? Talented artist Tyra Chantey has recently released her new single, ‘Stay In The Moment,’ so we sat down with her to chat about her new release, what it means to her, and her upcoming plans.
Q: Congrats on the release of your second single. Can you tell us more about how ‘Stay In The Moment’ came to be and what it means to you?
A: The lyrical content of SITM is pretty straightforward – it’s about being in the moment. About how you never know if when you make it to your goals, whether that feeling is going to exceed whatever you’re experiencing now. You don’t know what the best moments in your life are going to be. It might just be being with your family one evening. The overhyped moments are not always what they seem to be. I’m on a journey right now where I’m trying to share my music with as many people as possible, but at the same time, I want to enjoy the journey. That’s what SITM is about.
The song came together super quickly; it was kind of like a freestyle if you listen to the lyrics. I knew I wanted to mix that poppy sound of the instrumental with a soulful vocal style. The way that I’m singing it is kind of low register, but when you hear the instrumental, you think that it’s something that’s going to go up. Writing a pop song that stays in the same register, that never really has that euphoric break, is something I haven't done before. I’m really inspired by artists like Nina Simone and Tracy Chapman, who can put a soulful twist on something poppy.(EPIDEMIC SOUND TRANSCRIPTION)

Finally been riding on my way
Finally woke up with some luck and a buck

Verse 2
You woke up from a while
Haven’t seen you smile since December
Ripped your heart, got a brand new one
Since you got lost in November
See it in your eyes when we leave for the night
Way to many heartbreaks still on your mind
Let the flame burn down for a while
Let the frame blur out for a while...

Hook 2
Stay in the moment
Stay in the moment with me
Give you a moment to
Give you a moment of me
Smell all the roses
Smell all the roses with me
Just give you a moment to
Stay in the moment with me

Bridge

I know you hiding behind that pretty brown face
I see you climbing been tryna find your own way
Last see you smiling since we were stuck in LA
Babe, come jump the roof top and come watch the skyline with me.

One of the most popular Philadelphia soul groups of the 1970s, the group's repertoire included soul, R&B, doo-wop, and disco. Founded in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the middle of the 1950s as The Charlemagnes, the group is most noted for several hits on Gamble and Huff's Philadelphia International label between 1972 and 1976, although they performed and recorded until Melvin's death in 1997. Despite group founder and original lead singer Harold Melvin's top billing, the Blue Notes' most famous member was Teddy Pendergrass, their lead singer during the successful years at Philadelphia International. The remaining members of the Blue Notes have reunited for Soul Train Cruises in 2013, 2015, and 2017.
"The Love I Lost" is a song by American R&B group Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes. Originally written as a ballad by Philly soul songwriters Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, the song was transformed into a disco song and features drummer Earl Young. It was released from the Black & Blue album in late 1973 and sold more than a million copies. In the 21st century, the track has been the subject of extended re-edits by notable remixers Tom Moulton and Dimitri From Paris.

 The love I lost
Was a sweet love
The love I lost
Was complete love

The love I lost
I will never, no, no, never
Love again, ooh

I can remember planning
Building my whole world around you
I can remember hoping
That you and I could make it on through

But something went wrong
We loved each other
We just couldn't get along
Take a good look at me
I'm in misery, can't you see?

The love I lost
Was a sweet love (yes it was)
The love I lost
Was complete love

The love I lost
I will never (never), no, no, never (never)
Love again, ooh

I can't remember nothing, no no no
But the good times we used to share, oh no
I'm so sad and lonely
But without you, my life is so dead

I'm sorry to say
You go your way and I'll go my way
It hurts deep inside
The day we said goodbye, but the love

The love I lost
Was a sweet love
The love I lost
Was complete love

The love I lost
I will never (never) no no never
Love again (I'll never never never love again)
I will never (never) no, no, never (never)
Love again
I will never (never) no, no, never (never)
Love again

Never, no, no, never
Love again
Never, no, no, never (never)
Love again
Never

I lost it
Sorry I lost it
I lost it
Sorry I lost it
I lost it
Sorry I lost it
I lost it
Sorry I lost it
I lost it
Sorry I lost it
I lost it
Sorry I lost it
I lost it
Sorry I lost it
I lost it
Sorry I lost it
I lost it
Sorry I lost it
I lost it
Sorry I lost it

I lost it
Sorry I lost it
I lost it
Sorry I lost it
I lost it
Sorry I lost it
I lost it
Sorry I lost it
I lost it
Sorry I lost it.

TRAINS AND WINTER RAINS

ENYA
SONGWRITER: ENYA & ROMA RYAN
COUNTRY: IRELAND
ALBUM: AND WINTER CAME…
LABEL: REPRISE RECORDS
GENRE: NEW-AGE
YEAR: 2008

Enya Patricia Brennan(Irish: Eithne Pádraigín Ní Bhraonáin/ˈɛnjə/; born 17 May 1961) is an Irish singer-songwriter and musician. Born into a musical family and raised in the Irish-speaking area of Gweedore, County Donegal, Enya began her music career when she joined her family's Celtic folk band Clannad in 1980 on keyboards and backing vocals. She left the group in 1982 with their manager and producer Nicky Ryan to pursue a solo career, with Ryan's wife Roma Ryan as her lyricist. Enya developed her sound over the following four years with multitracked vocals and keyboards with elements of new age, Celtic, classical, church, world, pop, and Irish folk. Thus far, she has sung in ten languages, most notably English, Irish Gaelic(Gaeilge), Latin, and Welsh.
Enya's first projects as a solo artist included soundtrack work for The Frog Prince(1984) and the 1987 BBC documentary series The Celts, which was released as her debut album, Enya(1987). She signed with Warner Music UK, which granted her artistic freedom and minimal interference from the label. The commercial and critical success of Watermark(1988) propelled her to worldwide fame, helped by the UK number one and international hit single "Orinoco Flow". This was followed by the multi-million-selling albums Shepherd Moons(1991), The Memory of Trees(1995), and A Day Without Rain(2000). Sales of the latter and its lead single, "Only Time", surged in the United States following its use in the media coverage of the September 11 attacks. Following Amarantine(2005) and And Winter Came...(2008), Enya took a four-year career hiatus before she resumed in 2012 and released her eighth studio album, Dark Sky Island(2015).
Enya is Ireland's best-selling solo artist and second-best-selling overall behind U2. Her discography has sold 26.5million certified albums in the United States and an estimated 75 million records worldwide, making her one of the best-selling music artists of all time. A Day Without Rain (2000) remains the best-selling new-age album, with an estimated 16 million copies sold worldwide. Enya has won numerous awards, including seven World Music Awards, four Grammy Awards for Best New Age Album, and an Ivor Novello Award. She was nominated for na Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for "May It Be", written for The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring(2001).
"Trains and Winter Rains" is a single by Irish musician Enya, the first to be taken from the album And Winter Came.... It premiered on the BBC Radio 2 show Wake up to Wogan on 29 September 2008. The song features Agnus Dei, a Christian verse commonly heard in churches.

City streets passing by
Underneath stormy skies

Neon signs in the night
Red and blue city lights
Cargo trains rolling by
Once again someone cries

Trains and winter rains
No going back, no going home
Trains across the plains
And in the sky, a star alone

Every time; it's the same
One more night, one more train
Everywhere; empty roads
Where they go, no-one knows

Trains and winter rains
No going back, no going home
Trains across the plains
And in the sky, a star alone

Trains and winter rains
No going back, no going home
Trains across the plains
And in the sky, a star alone

Trains and winter rains
No going back, no going home
Trains across the plains
And in the sky, a star alone

Trains and winter rains
No going back, no going home
Trains across the plains
And in the sky, a star alone.
