GENERE: FOLK
ANNO: 2001

Pioggia e sole
Cambiano
La faccia alle persone
Fanno il diavolo a quattro nel cuore
E passano
E tornano
E non la smettono mai

Sempre e per sempre tu
Ricordati
Dovunque sei
Se mi cercherai
Sempre e per sempre
Dalla stessa parte mi troverai

E ho visto gente andare, perdersi e tornare
E perdersi ancora
E tendere la mano a mani vuote
E con le stesse scarpe camminare
Per diverse strade
O con diverse scarpe
Su una strada sola

Tu non credere
Se qualcuno ti dirà
Che non sono più lo stesso ormai

Pioggia e sole abbaiano e mordomo
Ma lasciano
Lasciano il tempo che trovano
E il vero amore può
Nascondersi
Confondersi
Ma non può perdersi mai

Sempre e per sempre
Dalla stessa parte mi troverai
Sempre e per sempre
Dalla stessa parte mi troverai.

DON'T CLOSE YOUR EYES

KEITH WHITLEY
SONGWRITER: BOB MCDILL
COUNTRY: U. S. A.
ALBUM: DON’T CLOSE YOUR EYES
LABEL: RCA RECORDS
GENRE: COUNTRY
YEAR: 1988

Jesse Keith Whitley (July 1, 1954 – May 9, 1989) was an American country music singer. During his career, Whitley recorded only two albums but charted 12 singles on the Billboard country charts, and 7 more after his death.
Born in Ashland, Kentucky, Whitley grew up in nearby Sandy Hook, Kentucky. Whitley began his career there in 1970, performing in Ralph Stanley's band. Establishing himself as a lead singer in bluegrass music, Whitley moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 1983 and began his recording career there. His first Top 20 Country Hit single, "Miami, My Amy", was released in 1986. In 1988, his first three singles from his studio álbum Don't Close Your Eyes, the title song, "When You Say Nothing at All" and "I'm No Stranger to the Rain" were number one hits. Years of alcoholism severely compromised his health and he died of alcohol intoxication in 1989 at his Goodlettsville home at the age of 34. His later singles, "I Wonder Do You Think of Me", "It Ain't Nothin'", and "I'm Over You", were released after his death.
"Don't Close Your Eyes" is a song written by Bob McDill, and recorded by American country music artist Keith Whitley. It was released in March 1988 as third single from his album of the same name. In the United States, the single reached number-one for the week of August 13, while peaking at number 2 in Canada. Additionally, it was Billboard's number-one country single of the year 1988.

I know you loved him, a long time ago
Even now in my arms, you still want him I know
But darling this time, your memories die
When you hold me tonight, don't close your eyes

Don't close your eyes, let it be me
Don't pretend it's him, in some fantasy
Darling just once, let yesterday go
And you'll find more love than you'll ever know
Just hold me tight, when you love me tonight
And don't close your eyes

Maybe I've, been a fool, holding on all this time
Lying here in your arms, knowing he's in your mind
But I keep hoping someday, that you'll see the light
Let it be tonight and don't close your eyes

Don't close your eyes, let it be me
Don't pretend it's him, in some fantasy
Darling just once, let yesterday go
And you'll find more love than you'll ever know
Just hold me tight, when you love me tonight
And don't close your eyes

Don't close your eyes, let it be me
Don't pretend it's him, in some fantasy
Darling just once, let yesterday go
And you'll find more love than you'll ever know
Just hold me tight, when you love me tonight
And don't close your eyes

Just hold me tight, when you love me Tonight
And don't close your eyes.

SUGARLAND
SONGWRITER: JENNIFER O. NETTLES
COUNTRY: U. S. A.
ALBUM: ENJOY THE RIDE
LABEL: MERCURY NASHVILLE
GENRE: COUNTRY
YEAR: 2006

Sugarland is an American country music duo founded in Atlanta, Georgia, consisting of singer-songwriters Jennifer Nettles(lead vocals) and Kristian Bush (vocals, guitar, mandolin). The group was founded in 2002 by Nettles and Bush with Kristen Hall(vocals, guitar). Hall left the group after its first album. All three members had experience in folk rock: Nettles had recorded in the groups Soul Miner's Daughter and Jennifer Nettles Band, Bush had recorded two albums as one-half of the duo Billy Pilgrim, and Hall had recorded two solo albums.
Signed to Mercury Nashville Records in 2004, Sugarland recorded four studio albums, one Christmas album, and one live album for that label between then and 2010. These albums accounted for fifteen singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including the number-one singles "Want To", "Settlin'", "All I Want to Do", "Already Gone", and "It Happens". Nettles was also a featured vocalist on rock band Bon Jovi's late 2005-early 2006 single "Who Says You Can't Go Home", which also topped the country music charts. Their four studio albums for this label—Twice the Speed of Life, Enjoy the Ride, Love on the Inside, and The Incredible Machine—are all certified platinum or higher by the Recording Industry Association of America(RIAA). The duo went on hiatus in 2012, during which time both Nettles and Bush recorded solo albums. They reunited officially in 2017 for Bigger, a studio album issued on Big Machine Records.
Enjoy the Ride is the second studio album by country music duo Sugarland, released on November 7, 2006 on Mercury Nashville Records. The album is the first one released with Sugarland as a duo (comprising Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush), as former member Kristen Hall had departed earlier in 2006.
The album debuted at Nº 4 on the US Billboard 200 and at Nº 2 on the US Country Album Chart, selling 211,000 copies in its first week; these were also its peak positions on the two charts. The album is certified 3× platinum by the RIAA for shipments of 3 million copies.
The album produced four chart singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, all of which were Top Ten hits. "Want To" and "Settlin'" (respectively the first and second singles) were both Number One hits, with the former being their first U.S. Number One. "Everyday America", the third single, was a Nº 9 on the country charts and was used on the TV series Good Morning America. The final single was the acoustic ballad "Stay", which peaked at Nº 2.

I've been sitting here staring at the clock on the wall
And I've been laying here praying, praying she won't call
It's just another call from home
And you'll get it and be gone
And I'll be crying

And I'll be begging you, baby
Beg you not to leave
But I'll be left here waiting
With my heart on my sleeve
Oh, for the next time we'll be here
Seems like a million years
And I think I'm dying

What do I have to do to make you see
She can't love you like me?

Why don't you stay
I'm down on my knees
I'm so tired of being lonely
Don't I give you what you need?
When she calls you to go
There is one thing you should know
We don't have to live this way
Baby, why don't you stay?

You keep telling me, baby
There will come a time
When you will leave her arms
And forever be in mine
But I don't think that's the truth
And I don't like being used and I'm tired of waiting
It's too much pain to have to bear
To love a man you have to share

Why don't you stay
I'm down on my knees
I'm so tired of being lonely
Don't I give you what you need?
When she calls you to go
There is one thing you should know
We don't have to live this way
Baby, why don't you stay?

I can't take it any longer
But my will is getting stronger
And I think I know just what I have to do
I can't waste another minute
After all that I've put in it
I've given you my best
Why does she get the best of you?
So next time you find you wanna leave her bed for mine

Why don't you stay
I'm up off my knees
I'm so tired of being lonely
You can't give me what I need
When she begs you not to go
There is one thing you should know
I don't have to live this way
Baby, why don't you stay? Yeah
Oh! Oh! oh!

God, I'm down here on my knees
Cause it's the last place left to fall
Beggin' for another chance
If there's any chance at all
That you might still be listenin'
Lovin' and forgivin' guys like me

I've spent my whole life gettin' it all wrong
And I sure could use your help cause from now on

I wanna be a good man
A 'do like I should' man
I wanna be the kind of man the mirror likes to see
I wanna be a strong man
And admit that I was wrong, man
God I'm asking you to come change me
To the man I wanna be

There's anyway for her and me to make another start
Could you see what you could do
To put some love back in her heart
Cause' it going to take a miracle
After all I've done to really make her see

That I wanna be a stay man
I wanna be a great man
I wanna be the kind of man that she sees in her dreams
God, I wanna be your man
And I wanna be her man
God, I only hope she still believes
In the man I wanna be

Well, I know this late at night that talk is cheap
Lord, don't give up on me

I wanna be a givin' man
I wanna really start livin' man
God, I'm asking you to come change me
To the man I wanna be.
