George Harvey Strait Sr. (born May 18, 1952) is an American country music singer, songwriter, actor, and music producer. George Strait is known as the "King of Country" and is considered one of the most influential and popular recording artists of all time. He is known as a pioneer of the neotraditionalist country style and movement, cowboy look, and being one of the first and most prominent country artists to bring country music back to its roots and away from the pop country era in the 1980s.
Strait's success began when his first single "Unwound" was a hit in 1981 during the midst of the Urban Cowboy country pop era, setting the standard for neo-traditional country's emergence into the 1980s and 1990s. During the 1980s, seven of his albums reached number one on the country charts. In the 2000s, Strait was named Artist of the Decade by the Academy of Country Music, was elected into the Country Music Hall of Fame, and won his first Grammy award for the album Troubadour. Strait was named CMA Entertainer of the Year in 1989, 1990 and 2013, and ACM Entertainer of the Year in 1990 and 2014. He has been nominated for more CMA and ACM awards and has more wins in both categories than any other artist.
By 2009, he broke Conway Twitty's previous record for the most number-one hits on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart when his 44 number one singles surpassed Twitty's 40. Counting all music charts, Strait has amassed a total of 60 number-one hits, hitting the landmark with "Give It All We Got Tonight" in 2013, breaking a record also previously set by Twitty, giving him more number one songs than any other artist in any genre of music.
Strait is also known for his touring career when he designed a 360-degree configuration and introduced festival style tours. For example, the Strait Tours earned $99 million in three years. His final concert for The Cowboy Rides Away Tour at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, in June 2014, drew 104,793 people, marking a new record for largest indoor concert in North America.
Strait has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time. His certifications from the RIAA include 13 multi-platinum, 33 platinum, and 38 gold albums. His best-selling album is Pure Country(1992), which sold 6 million (6×platinum). His highest certified album is Strait Out of the Box(1995), which sold 2 million copies (8× Platinum due to being a box set with four CDs). According to the RIAA, Strait is the 11th best-selling album recording artist in the United States overall.
"I Can Still Make Cheyenne" is a song written by Aaron Barker and Erv Woolsey, and recorded by American country music artist George Strait. It was released in August 1996 as the third single from Strait's álbum Blue Clear Sky. The song also appears on 50 Number Ones. A live version can be heard on his album, For the Last Time: Live from the Astrodome, which came out in 2003. A DVD, with the same name, also features the song.
Her telephone rang 'bout a quarter to nine
She heard his voice on the other end of the line
She wondered what was wrong this time
She never knew what his calls might bring
With a cowboy like him, it could be anything
And she always expected the worst
In the back of her mind

He said, it's cold out here and I'm all alone
Didn't make the short go again and I'm coming home
I know I've been away too long
I never got a chance to write or call
And I know this rodeo has been hard on us all
But I'll be home soon
And honey is there somethin' wrong

She said, don't bother comin' home
By time you get here I'll be long gone
There's somebody new and he sure ain't no rodeo man
He said, I'm sorry it's come down to this
There's so much about you that I'm gonna miss
But it's alright baby
If I hurry I can still make Cheyenne
Gotta go now baby
If I hurry I can still make Cheyenne

He left that phone danglin' off the Hook
Then slowly turned around and gave it one last look
Then he just walked away
He aimed his truck toward that Wyoming line
With a little luck he could still get there in time
And in that Cheyenne wind he could still hear her say

She said, don't bother comin' home
By time you get here I'll be long gone
There's somebody new and he sure ain't no rodeo man
He said, I'm sorry it's come down to this
There's so much about you that I'm gonna miss
But it's alright baby
If I hurry I can still make Cheyenne
Gotta go now baby
If I hurry I can still make Cheyenne

She never knew what his calls might bring
With a cowboy like him, it could be anything
And she always expected the worst
In the back of her mind.

After appearances in various television shows and releasing her first singles, Stansfield, along with Ian Devaney and Andy Morris, formed Blue Zone in 1986.          Stansfield's first solo álbum Affection(1989) and its worldwide chart-topping lead single "All Around the World" were major breakthroughs in her career. She was nominated for two Grammy Awards, and Affection is her best-selling album to date. In the following years, Stansfield released Real Love(1991), So Natural(1993), and Lisa Stansfield(1997). In 1999 she appeared in her first film, Swing, and also recorded the soundtrack for it. Her next albums included Face Up(2001), Biography: The Greatest Hits(2003), and The Moment (2004). Thereafter, Stansfield took a break from music and focused on her film career. In 2008, she starred in The Edge of Love and in 2014 she appeared in Northern Soul.
Stansfield released her seventh álbum Seven on 31 January 2014. Its lead single "Can't Dance" was digitally released on 16 October 2013. She promoted the album with the European Seven Tour in 2013 and 2014. Her most recent álbum Deeper was released on 6 April 2018. In June 2018, following a string of sold-out tour dates in Europe, Stansfield announced her North American Tour, which began in October 2018.
Stansfield has won numerous awards, including three Brit Awards, two Ivor Novello Awards, a Billboard Music Award, World Music Award, ASCAP Award, Women's World Award, Silver Clef Award and two DMC Awards. One year later, on 30 July 1990, "This Is the Right Time" was issued as the third North American single. It included previously unreleased track, "My Apple Heart" and new remixes created by Shep Pettibone and Yvonne Turner. In September 1990, just before Stansfield's European tour, the double A-side single "This Is the Right Time"/"You Can't Deny It" with new US remixes was released in selected European countries. In Japan, "This Is the Right Time" was released as a single on 3 October 1990.

This is the right time to believe in love
Ooh yeah yeah yeah
Ooh oh oh

Everyone knows, if you don't demand it shows
That you understand the light shining inside us
It's more than tonight, it's forever more, it's right
When there's someone there through the night to hold you close

You know it's all that you'll ever need
'Cause you're seeing love, and seeing it clearly
There's no doubt about it, you just have to shout out

This is the right time, this is the right time
I can see it in your eye
This is the right time to believe in love

Everyone knows it's a special thing, it's a love
That will never, ever be wrong, 'cause this love is strong

You know it's all that you'll ever need
'Cause you're seeing love, and seeing it clearly
There's no doubt about it, you just have to shout out

This is the right time, this is the right time
I can see it in your eye
This is the right time to believe in love

This is the right time, this is the right time
I can see it in your eye
This is the right time to believe in love

So when you know that there's someone there you want
And you want him so tonight, more than you've ever done anyone

You know it's all that you'll ever need
'Cause you're seeing love, and seeing it clearly
There's no doubt about it, you just have to shout out

This is the right time, this is the right time
I can see it in your eye
This is the right time to believe in love

This is the right time, this is the right time
I can see it in your eye
This is the right time to believe in love

Well do you believe baby
'Cause I believe baby
Do you believe baby

This is the right time, this is the right time
This is the right time to believe in love
This is the right time, this is the right time
This is the right time to believe in love.

Pioggia e sole
Cambiano
La faccia alle persone
Fanno il diavolo a quattro nel cuore
E passano
E tornano
E non la smettono mai

Sempre e per sempre tu
Ricordati
Dovunque sei
Se mi cercherai
Sempre e per sempre
Dalla stessa parte mi troverai

E ho visto gente andare, perdersi e tornare
E perdersi ancora
E tendere la mano a mani vuote
E con le stesse scarpe camminare
Per diverse strade
O con diverse scarpe
Su una strada sola

Tu non credere
Se qualcuno ti dirà
Che non sono più lo stesso ormai

Pioggia e sole abbaiano e mordomo
Ma lasciano
Lasciano il tempo che trovano
E il vero amore può
Nascondersi
Confondersi
Ma non può perdersi mai

Sempre e per sempre
Dalla stessa parte mi troverai
Sempre e per sempre
Dalla stessa parte mi troverai.

DON'T CLOSE YOUR EYES

KEITH WHITLEY
SONGWRITER: BOB MCDILL
COUNTRY: U. S. A.
ALBUM: DON’T CLOSE YOUR EYES
LABEL: RCA RECORDS
GENRE: COUNTRY
YEAR: 1988

Jesse Keith Whitley (July 1, 1954 – May 9, 1989) was an American country music singer. During his career, Whitley recorded only two albums but charted 12 singles on the Billboard country charts, and 7 more after his death.
Born in Ashland, Kentucky, Whitley grew up in nearby Sandy Hook, Kentucky. Whitley began his career there in 1970, performing in Ralph Stanley's band. Establishing himself as a lead singer in bluegrass music, Whitley moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 1983 and began his recording career there. His first Top 20 Country Hit single, "Miami, My Amy", was released in 1986. In 1988, his first three singles from his studio álbum Don't Close Your Eyes, the title song, "When You Say Nothing at All" and "I'm No Stranger to the Rain" were number one hits. Years of alcoholism severely compromised his health and he died of alcohol intoxication in 1989 at his Goodlettsville home at the age of 34. His later singles, "I Wonder Do You Think of Me", "It Ain't Nothin'", and "I'm Over You", were released after his death.
"Don't Close Your Eyes" is a song written by Bob McDill, and recorded by American country music artist Keith Whitley. It was released in March 1988 as third single from his album of the same name. In the United States, the single reached number-one for the week of August 13, while peaking at number 2 in Canada. Additionally, it was Billboard's number-one country single of the year 1988.

I know you loved him, a long time ago
Even now in my arms, you still want him I know
But darling this time, your memories die
When you hold me tonight, don't close your eyes

Don't close your eyes, let it be me
Don't pretend it's him, in some fantasy
Darling just once, let yesterday go
And you'll find more love than you'll ever know
Just hold me tight, when you love me tonight
And don't close your eyes

Maybe I've, been a fool, holding on all this time
Lying here in your arms, knowing he's in your mind
But I keep hoping someday, that you'll see the light
Let it be tonight and don't close your eyes

Don't close your eyes, let it be me
Don't pretend it's him, in some fantasy
Darling just once, let yesterday go
And you'll find more love than you'll ever know
Just hold me tight, when you love me tonight
And don't close your eyes

Don't close your eyes, let it be me
Don't pretend it's him, in some fantasy
Darling just once, let yesterday go
And you'll find more love than you'll ever know
Just hold me tight, when you love me tonight
And don't close your eyes

Just hold me tight, when you love me Tonight
And don't close your eyes.
