Whitney Elizabeth Houston(August 9, 1963 – February 11, 2012) was an American singer and actress. Nicknamed "The Voice", she is one of the best-selling recording artists of all time, with sales of over 200 million records worldwide. Houston has influenced many singers in popular music, and is known for her powerful, soulful vocals and vocal improvisation skills. She is the only artist to have had seven consecutive number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100, from "Saving All My Love for You" in 1985 to "Where Do Broken Hearts Go" in 1988. Houston also enhanced her popularity by entering into the movie industry. Her works, which include recordings and films, have generated both great success and controversy.
Houston began singing in church as a child and became a background vocalist while in high school. She was one of the first black women to appear on the cover of Seventeen after becoming a teen model in 1981. With the guidance of Arista Records chairman Clive Davis, Houston signed to the label at age 19. Her first two studio albums, Whitney Houston(1985) and Whitney(1987), both peaked at number one on the Billboard 200 and are among the best-selling albums of all time. Houston's third studio album, I'm Your Baby Tonight (1990), yielded two Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles: "I'm Your Baby Tonight" and "All the Man That I Need".
Houston made her acting debut with the romantic thriller film The Bodyguard (1992). At the time of its release, the film was the tenth highest-grossing film of all time. However, it received negative reviews for its screenplay and performances of the lead actors. She recorded six songs for the film's soundtrack, including "I Will Always Love You" which won the Grammy Award for Record of the Year and became the best-selling physical single by a female in music history. The soundtrack for The Bodyguard won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year and remains the best-selling soundtrack album of all time. Houston went on to star and record soundtracks for two high-profile films, Waiting to Exhale(1995) and The Preacher's Wife(1996). Soundtrack of The Preacher's Wife, which was produced by Houston, became the best-selling gospel album of all time. As a film producer, she produced multicultural movies including Cinderella(1997) and series including The Princess Diaries and The Cheetah Girls.
"Could I Have This Kiss Forever" is a mid-tempo duet performed by American singer Whitney Houston and Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias. It was written by Diane Warren and produced by David Foster, Mark Taylor and Brian Rawling. The song first appeared on Iglesias's debut English-language Album Enrique(1999) as a slow Latin-styled ballad. It was also included on Houston's first compilation album, Whitney: The Greatest Hits(2000). It achieved chart success in many countries, including Switzerland and the Netherlands, where it reached number one.
Dame un beso para siempre
Over and over I look in your eyes
You are all I desire, you have captured me
I want to hold you, I want to be close to you
I never want to let go

I wish that this night would never end
I need to know

Could I hold you for a lifetime?
Could I look into your eyes?
Could I have this night to share this night together?
Could I hold you close beside me?
Could I hold you for all time?
Could I, could I, could I have this kiss forever?
Could I, could I, could I have this kiss forever? (Forever)
Forever (forever)

Over and over, I've dreamed of this night
Now you're here by my side, you are next to me (you are next to me)
I want to hold you and touch you and taste you
And make you want no one but me

I wish that this kiss could never end, no, no
Oh, baby, please

Could I hold you for a lifetime? (Could I?)
Could I look into your eyes?
Could I have this night to share this night together? (Un beso para siempre)
(Para siempre)
Could I hold you close beside me?
Could I hold you for all time?
Could I, could I, could I have this kiss forever?
Could I, could I, could I have this kiss forever? (Forever)
And ever? (Forever)

I don't want any night to go by
Without you by my side
I just want all my days
Spent being next to you
Lived for just loving you
And baby, oh, by the way (could I?)

Could I hold you for a lifetime?
Could I look into your eyes?
Could I have this night to share this night together? (Could I?)
Could I hold you close beside me?
Could I hold you for all time?
Could I, could I, could I have this kiss forever?
Could I, could I, could I have this kiss forever? (Forever)
And ever?

Forever (could I have this kiss forever?)
(Could I have this kiss forever?)
Solo, solo un beso, un beso para siempre
Para siempre (could I have this kiss forever?)
Dame un beso para siempre (could I have this kiss forever?)
Para siempre

Could I have this kiss forever?
Could I, could I have this kiss forever?

"How Deep Is Your Love" is a pop ballad written and recorded by the Bee Gees in 1977 and released as a single in September of that year. It was ultimately used as part of the soundtrack to the film Saturday Night Fever. It was a number-three hit in the United Kingdom and Australia. In the United States, it topped the Billboard Hot 100 on 25 December 1977 (becoming the first of six consecutive US number-one hits), ended the 10-week reign of Debby Boone's "You Light Up My Life" and stayed in the Top 10 for 17 weeks, being the first song to spend 17+ weeks in the top ten since Chubby Checker's The Twist. It was also the longest song to be in the top ten in one run. It would hold the record until "End of the Road" by Boyz II Men. The single spent 19 weeks in the top ten after the introduction of Nielsen Soundscan in 1991 allowed singles to achieve longer runs on the charts. It spent six weeks atop the US adult contemporary chart. It is listed at Nº. 22 on Billboard's All Time Top 100. Alongside "Stayin' Alive" and "Night Fever", it is one of the group's three tracks on the list. The song was covered by Take That for their 1996 Greatest Hits album, reaching Nº 1 on the UK Singles Chart for three weeks.
"How Deep Is Your Love" ranked number 375 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. In a British TV special shown in December 2011, it was voted The Nation's Favourite Bee Gees Song by ITV viewers. During the Bee Gees' 2001 Billboard magazine interview, Barry reportedly said that this was his favourite Bee Gees song.

I know your eyes in the morning sun
I feel you touch me in the pouring rain
And the moment that you wander far from me
I wanna feel you in my arms again.

And you come to me on a summer breeze
Keep me warm in your love then you softly leave
And it's me you need to show
How deep is your love

(chorus)
Is your love
How deep is your love
I really need to learn
Cause we're living in a world of fools
Breaking us down
When they all should let us be
We belong to you and me.

I believe in you
You know the door to my very soul.
You're the light in my deepest darkest hour
You're my saviour when i fall..

And you may not think that i care for you
When you know down inside that i really do
And it's me you need to show how deep is your love?

(chorus)
La da da da da, la da da da da da da da da da da

And you come to me on a summer breeze
Keep me warm in your love and then softly leave
And it's me you need to show
How deep is your love

(chorus repeat)

Barbara Joan Streisand (/ˈstraɪsænd/; born April 24, 1942), known professionally as Barbra Streisand, is an American singer, actress, and filmmaker. With a career spanning over six decades, she has achieved success in multiple fields of entertainment, and is among the few performers awarded an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony(EGOT).
Streisand began her career by performing in nightclubs and Broadway theaters in the early 1960s. Following her guest appearances on various television shows, she signed to Columbia Records, insisting that she retain full artistic control, and accepting lower pay in exchange, an arrangement that continued throughout her career, and released her debut The Barbra Streisand Album(1963), which won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year. Throughout her recording career, Streisand has topped the US Billboard 200 chart with 11 albums—a record for a woman—including People(1964), The Way We Were(1974), Guilty(1980), and The Broadway Album(1985). She also achieved five number-one singles on the US Billboard Hot 100—"The Way We Were", "Evergreen", "You Don't Bring Me Flowers", "No More Tears(Enough Is Enough)", and "Woman in Love".
Following her established recording success in the 1960s, Streisand ventured into film by the end of that decade. She starred in the critically acclaimed Funny Girl(1968), for which she won the Academy Award for Best Actress. Additional fame followed with films including the extravagant musical Hello, Dolly!(1969), the screwball comedy What's Up, Doc?(1972), and the romantic drama The Way We Were(1973). Streisand won a second Academy Award for writing the love theme from A Star Is Born(1976), the first woman to be honored as a composer. With the release of Yentl(1983), Streisand became the first woman to write, produce, direct, and star in a major studio film. The film won an Oscar for Best Score and a Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture Musical. Streisand also received the Golden Globe Award for Best Director, becoming the first (and for 37 years, the only) woman to win that award. Streisand later directed The Prince of Tides(1991) and The Mirror Has Two Faces(1996).
The Third Album is the title of Barbra Streisand's third solo studio album which was released in February 1964. By 1966, the album sold over one million copies worldwide.
Seems like dreams like I always had
Could be, should be making me glad
Why am I blue?
It's up to you to explain

I'm thinking maybe, baby, I'll go away
Someday, some way, you'll come and say it's you I need
And you'll be pleading in vain
It had to be you, had to be you

I wondered around, finally found somebody who
Could make me be true, could make me be blue
And even be glad just to be sad
Thinking of you

Some others I've seen
Might never be mean, might never be cross
I tried to be boss, but they wouldn't do
'Cause nobody else gave ma a thrill

With all your faults I love you still
Had to be you, crazy old you, had to be you.

The Bee Gees were a music group formed in 1958, featuring brothers Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb. The trio were especially successful as a popular music act in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and later as prominent performers of the disco music era in the mid- to late 1970s. The group sang recognisable three-part tight harmonies; Robin's clear vibrato lead vocals were a hallmark of their earlier hits, while Barry's R&B falsetto became their signature sound during the mid- to late 1970s and 1980s. The Bee Gees wrote all of their own hits, as well as writing and producing several major hits for other artists and have been regarded as one of the most important and influential acts in pop music history. They have been referred to in the media as The Disco Kings, Britain’s First Family of Harmony, and The Kings of Dance Music.
Born on the Isle of Man to English parents, the Gibb brothers lived in Chorlton, Manchester, England until the late 1950s. There, in 1955, they formed the skiffle/rock and roll group the Rattlesnakes. The family then moved to Redcliffe, in the Moreton Bay Region, Queensland, Australia, later to Cribb Island. After achieving their first chart success in Australia as the Bee Gees with "Spicks and Specks" (their twelfth single), they returned to the UK in January 1967, when producer Robert Stigwood began promoting them to a worldwide audience. The Bee Gees' Saturday Night Fever soundtrack (1977) was the turning point of their career, with both the film and soundtrack having a cultural impact throughout the world, enhancing the disco scene's mainstream appeal. They won five Grammy Awards for Saturday Night Fever, including Album of the Year.
Staying Alive is a 1983 American dance musical film and the sequel to Saturday Night Fever(1977). Directed by Sylvester Stallone, who also co-produced and co-wrote the film with original Fever producer and writer, Robert Stigwood and Norman Wexler, respectively, the film stars John Travolta, reprising his role as Tony Manero, with Cynthia Rhodes, Finola Hughes, Joyce Hyser, Julie Bovasso, and dancers Viktor Manoel and Kevyn Morrow.
The title comes from the Bee Gees song of the same name, which was used as the theme song to Saturday Night Fever and is also played during the final scene of Staying Alive. The title also reflects Tony's circumstances at the film's beginning, in which he is barely surviving as he pursues his dream of making his dancing career.
Staying Alive was theatrically released on July 15, 1983, to universally negative critical reviews, and, released in 1983, is the oldest film to hold a score of 0% on Rotten Tomatoes. Nonetheless, it was a box office success, earning $127 million worldwide on a $22 million budget. The film also featured the song "Far from Over" by Frank Stallone, the younger brother of Sylvester Stallone. Far from Over", peaked at #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and the Cashbox charts. Along with Homefront (2013), this is one of only two films that Stallone wrote without starring (although he has an uncredited cameo appearance).
Here I lie, in a lost and lonely part of town
Held in time, in a world of tears I slowly drown
Goin' home, I just can't make it all alone

I really should be holding you, holding you
Loving you, loving you

Tragedy
When the feeling's gone and you can't go on
It's tragedy
When the morning cries and you don't know why
It's hard to bear
With no-one to love you, you're goin' nowhere

Tragedy
When you lose control and you got no soul
It's tragedy
When the morning cries and you don't know why
It's hard to bear
With no-one beside you, you're goin' nowhere

Night and day, there's a burning down inside of me
Oh, oh
Burning love, with a yearning that won't let me be
Down I go and I just can't take it all alone

I really should be holding you, holding you
Loving you, loving you

Tragedy
When the feeling's gone and you can't go on
It's tragedy
When the morning cries and you don't know why
It's hard to bear
With no-one to love you, you're goin' nowhere

Tragedy
When you lose control and you got no soul
It's tragedy
When the morning cries and you don't know why
It's hard to bear
With no-one beside you, you're goin' nowhere
Aaah

Tragedy
When the feeling's gone and you can't go on
It's tragedy
When the morning cries and you don't know why
It's hard to bear
With no-one to love you, you're goin' nowhere
Ah, ah

Tragedy
When you lose control and you got no soul
It's tragedy
When the morning cries and your heart just dies
It's hard to bear
With no-one beside you, you're goin' nowhere
Ahh!

Tragedy
When the feeling's gone and you can't go on
It's tragedy
When the morning cries and you don't know why
It's hard to bear
With no-one to love you you're goin' nowhere
Ahh

Tragedy
When you lose control and you got no soul
It's tragedy
When the morning cries and your heart just dies
It's hard to bear
With no-one beside you, you're goin' nowhere
Ahh!

Tragedy
When the feeling's gone and you can't go on
It's tragedy
When the morning cries and you don't know why
It's hard to bear
With no-one to love you, you're goin' nowhere.
