COUNTRY: CANADA
ALBUM: UNDER MY SKIN
RECORD: ARISTA RECORDS
GENRE: ROCK
YEAR: 2004

Under My Skin is the second studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne. It was released on May 19, 2004, by Arista Records and RCA Records. Lavigne wrote most of the album with singer-songwriter Chantal Kreviazuk, who invited her to a Malibu in-house recording studio shared by Kreviazuk and her husband Raine Maida, where Lavigne recorded many of the songs. The album was produced by Maida, Don Gilmore, and Butch Walker. It is Lavigne's final album to be released on Arista, as she departed the label after its release.
Under My Skin debuted at number one on the Canadian Albums Chart and on the US Billboard 200. It sold three million copies in the United States, ranking the album number 149 on the Billboard 200 decade-end chart. Because of the album's darker, heavier, more aggressive vibe reminiscent of post-grunge and more melodic rockier songs, it received generally positive reception from critics at the point of considering it as one of the classic albums that defined pop punk music in the early 00's, and also one of the works that anticipated the emotional intensity and theatrical aesthetics of emo pop music in the mainstream. On March 18, 2013, Under My Skin was re-released as a double-disc set paired with her debut studio album, Let Go, which was released under Arista Records. To promote the album, Lavigne went on a promotional tour for malls in the United States and Canada. Furthermore, Lavigne embarked on a concert tour, entitled the Bonez Tour, starting on September 26, 2004, and ending one year later on September 26, 2005. The concert at the Budokan Stadium in Japan was filmed and released on a DVD only available in Japan, entitled Bonez Tour 2005: Live at Budokan. Under My Skin had sold 10 million copies worldwide and is the fifth best selling album of the 21st century by a Canadian artist.
Critics described Under My Skin as post-grunge, alternative rock, and nu metal containing some gothic rock, grunge, folk rock, and hard rock influences.
I couldn't tell you
Why she felt that way
She felt it everyday
And I couldn't help her
I just watched her make
The same mistakes again

What's wrong, what's wrong now?
Too many, too many problems
Don't know where she belongs
Where she belongs

She wants to go home
But nobody's home
That's where she lies
Broken inside
With no place to go
No place to go
To dry her eyes
Broken inside

Open your eyes
And look outside
Find the reasons why
You've been rejected
And now you can't find
What you left behind

Be strong, be strong now
Too many, too many problems
Don't know where she belongs
Where she belongs

She wants to go home
But nobody's home
That's where she lies
Broken inside
With no place to go
No place to go
To dry her eyes
Broken inside

Her feelings she hides
Her dreams she can't find
She's losing her mind
She's falling behind

She can't find her place
She's losing her faith
She's falling from grace
She's all over the place, yeah

She wants to go home
But nobody's home
That's where she lies
Broken inside
With no place to go
No place to go to
To dry her eyes
Broken inside

She's lost inside, lost inside
She's lost inside, lost inside.

The whispers in the morning
Of lovers sleeping tight
Are rolling by like thunder now
As I look in your eyes

I hold on to your whole body
And feel each move you make
Your voice is warm and tender
A love that I could not forsake

'Cause I'm your lady
And you are my man
Whenever you reach for me
I'll do all that I can

Lost is how I'm feeling lying in your arms
When the world outside's too much to take
That all ends when I'm with you

Even though there may be times
It seems I'm far away
Never wonder where I am
'Cause I am always by your side

'Cause I'm your lady
And you are my man
Whenever you reach for me
I'll do all that I can

We're heading for something
Somewhere I've never been
Sometimes I am frightened
But I'm ready to learn
Of the power of love

The sound of your heart beating
Made it clear suddenly
The feeling that I can't go on
Is light years away

'Cause I'm your lady
And you are my man
Whenever you reach for me
I'll do all that I can

We're heading for something
Somewhere I've never been
Sometimes I am frightened
But I'm ready to learn
Of the power of love

The power of love
The power of love.

Tu n'as connu
Qu'un seul amant

Mais à 20 ans
Pour rester sage
L'amour est un
Trop long voyage

Mélodie d'amour chante le cœur d'Emmanuelle
Qui bat cœur à corps perdu
Mélodie d'amour chante le corps d'Emmanuelle
Qui vit corps à cœur déçue

L'amour à cœur
Tu l'as rêvé
L'amour à corps
Tu l'as trouvé

Tu es en somme
Devant les hommes
Comme un soupir
Sur leur désir

Tu es si belle
Emmanuelle
Cherche le cœur
Trouve les pleurs

Cherche toujours
Cherche plus loin
Viendra l'amour
Sur ton chemin

Mélodie d'amour chante le cœur d'Emmanuelle
Qui bat cœur à corps perdu
Mélodie d'amour chante le corps d'Emmanuelle
Qui vit corps à cœur déçue.

SOMETHING FROM NOTHING

FOO FIGHTERS
SONGWRITERS: GROHL DAVID; MENDEL NATE; HAWKINS OLIVER TAYLOR; RUTHENBERG GEORG & SHIFLETT CHRIS
COUNTRY: U. S. A.
ALBUM: SONIC HIGHWAY
LABEL: ROSWELL RECORDS
GENRE: ALTERNATIVE ROCK
YEAR: 2014

Foo Fighters are an American rock band formed in 1994 in Seattle, Washington. The band was founded by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl as a one-man project following the dissolution of Nirvana after the suicide of Kurt Cobain. The group took its name from foo fighter, a nickname coined by Allied aircraft pilots for UFOs and other aerial phenomena. Over the course of their career, Foo Fighters have won 12 Grammy Awards, including Best Rock Album four times. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021, their first year of eligibility.
Prior to the release of Foo Fighters' 1995 debut álbum Foo Fighters, which featured Grohl as the only official member, Grohl recruited bassist Nate Mendel and drummer William Goldsmith, both formerly of Sunny Day Real Estate, as well as Nirvana touring guitarist Pat Smear. The band began with performances in Portland, Oregon. Goldsmith quit during the recording of their second álbum The Colour and the Shape (1997); most of the drum parts were re-recorded by Grohl. Smear departed soon afterward but appeared as a guest with the band frequently from 2005; he rejoined in 2010.
Sonic Highways is the eighth studio album by American rock band Foo Fighters, released on November 10, 2014, through Roswell and RCA Records. Similar to their previous album, Wasting Light(2011), it was produced by the band with Butch Vig. In writing the album's eight songs, singer and guitarist Dave Grohl traveled to eight cities across the United States to conduct interviews with musicians, recording engineers, record producers, and other individuals discussing each city's musical history, which he used as inspiration for the songs' lyrics. The band and Vig then traveled to a different recording location in each city to record the songs. Each track features contributions from one or more musicians with ties to that city's musical history. The process was filmed for a companion television series, Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways, which was broadcast on HBO in the months surrounding the album's release.
Give me the flammable light
I'm cold as a match, ready to strike
So, here I go

Here lies a city on fire
Singing along
The arsonist choir
Now, here I go

It started with a spark
And burning to the dark
Now, here I go

There is a river I've found
Into the wild
Under the ground
So, here I go

A button on a string
And I heard everything
Now here I go

Oh, sweet ignition, be my fuse
You have no choice, you have to choose
Bid farewell to yesterday
Say goodbye, I'm on my way

But in the end, we all
Come from what's come before
So, here I go

Oh, sweet ignition, be my fuse
You have no choice, you have to choose
Bid farewell to yesterday
Say goodbye, I'm on my way

I threw it all away because
I had to be what never was
Been so hungry I could lie
Took my word, I took your wine
And held you in my bloody hands

These rattled bones and rubber bands
Washed them in the muddy water
Looking for a dime and found a quarter
But you can't make me change my name
You'll never make me change my name

Pay no mind, now, ain't that something?
Fuck it all, I came from nothing

I'm something from nothing
You are my fuse

I'm something from nothing
You are my fuse
It goes oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh

Oh, oh, oh
It goes oh, oh, oh
Alright

No, you can't make me change my name
You'll never make me change my name
Pay no mind, now, ain't that something?
Fuck it all, I came from nothing

I'm something
From nothing
I'm something
From nothing.
