I will fight
I will fight for you
I always do, until my heart
Is black and blue

And I will stay
I will stay with you
We'll make it to the other side
Like lovers do

I'll reach my hands out in the dark
And wait for yours to interlock
I'll wait for you
I'll wait for you

'Cause I'm not givin' up
I'm not givin' up, givin' up
No not yet
Even when I'm down to my last breath
Even when they say there's nothin' left
So don't give up on

I'm not givin' up
I'm not givin' up, givin' up
No not me
Even when nobody else believes
I'm not goin' down that easily
So don't give up on me

And I will hold
I'll hold onto you
No matter what this world'll throw
It won't shake me loose

I'll reach my hands out in the dark
And wait for yours to interlock
I'll wait for you
I'll wait for you

'Cause I'm not givin' up
I'm not givin' up, givin' up
No not yet
Even when I'm down to my last breath
Even when they say there's nothin' left
So don't give up on

I'm not givin' up
I'm not givin' up, givin' up
No not me
Even when nobody else believes
I'm not goin' down that easily
So don't give up on me

Whoa, whoa
Whoa, whoa
Yeah yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah yeah

I will fight
I will fight for you
I always do until my heart
Is black and blue.

ALBUM: WHERE THE HAPPY PEOPLE GO
LABEL: ATLANTIC RECORDS
GENRE: R & B
YEAR: 1976

The Trammps are an American disco and soul band, who were based in Philadelphia and were one of the first disco bands.
The band's first major success was their 1972 cover version of "Zing! Went the Strings of My Heart", while the first disco track they released was "Love Epidemic" in 1973. However, they are best known for their song "Disco Inferno" which was included on the Grammy-winning, Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. When originally released in 1976, "Disco Inferno" became a UK pop hit and US R&B and Dance hit topping the Dance chart for 5 weeks in early 1977. After inclusion in the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, the song was re-released in 1978 and became a modest US pop hit peaking at number 11.
Where the Happy People Go is the third studio album by American soul-disco group, The Trammps, released in 1976 through Atlantic Records.
The album peaked at Nº 13 on the R&B albums chart. It also reached Nº 50 on the Billboard 200. The album features the singles "That's Where the Happy People Go", which peaked at Nº 12 on the Hot Soul Singles chart, Nº 27 on the Billboard Hot 100, and Nº 1 on the Hot Dance Club Play chart, and "Disco Party", which charted at Nº 1 on the Hot Dance Club Play chart.

I used to spend most of my time
Just being alone, yes, I did
Nothing to do, no place to go
Just stayed at home

So I put my blues upon the shelf
And I made up my mind
To live a little myself
So I went on down to a disco

Disco, that's where
The happy people go
(Happy people go)
And they're just dancing along
To a perfect song at the disco

Disco, that's where
The happy people go
And they're just dancing along
To a perfect song at the disco

Now listen, all my friends
They wonder what's come over me
They all say I'm not the
Same old guy I used to be, yeah

First of all, I got myself together
I danced my blues away
They're gone forever
Then I ease on down to the disco

Disco, that's where
The happy people go
(Happy people go)
And they're just dancing along
To a perfect song at the disco

Clap your hands
Just stomp your feet, alright
Get on down, get on down
Just get on down

Sing the song, children
Boogie, boogie, boogie
Boogie, boogie
Boogie, boogie
Boogie, boogie
Boogie, boogie
Boogie, boogie

Oh, yeah
Keep on, keep on
Keep on

Disco, that's where
The happy people go
And they're just dancing along
To a perfect song at the disco.

YOU SAVED MY DAY

CHERYL LYNN
SONGWRITER: CHARLES MAY
COUNTRY: U. S. A.
ALBUM: CHERYL LYNN
LABEL: COLUMBIA RECORDS
GENRE: R & B
YEAR: 1978

Cheryl Lynn (born Lynda Cheryl Smith; March 11, 1957) is an American singer. She is best known for her songs during the late 1970s through the mid-1980s, including the 1978 R&B/disco song "Got to Be Real". Lynn's singing career began with her church choir when she was a girl. Her professional singing career started in 1976 when she obtained a job as a backing vocalist for the national touring company of the musical drama The Wiz. Eventually, she obtained the role of Evillene, the Wicked Witch of the West, during the six-month national tour.
Prior to her appearance in The Wiz, Lynn taped an episode of The Gong Show, a daytime entertainment show during June 1976, performing Joe Cocker's "You Are So Beautiful". Impressing her celebrity judges Jaye P. Morgan, Rex Reed and Elke Sommer, Lynn scored a perfect 30 and was later declared the winner. However, Lynn ended up appearing on the show twice, due to the fact the producers were debuting a nighttime version. According to an interview conducted and appearing in the September 1980 periodical "Black Stars" magazine, Lynn indicated that she was invited back in September 1976 to tape the all-new prime time version. The judges - Della Reese, Avery Schreiber, and Jamie Farr - gave her a collective score of 21; a previous act (a singing juggler) had also scored 21 and in the audience applause tie-break (and also because of Lynn's prior win) the juggler was deemed the winner.
Cheryl Lynn is the first studio album by the American singer Cheryl Lynn. It was officially released on October 13, 1978, by Columbia Records and included Lynn's first single and biggest hit "Got to Be Real".
You saved my day
Now that you love is here to stay
You saved my day
Now that you love is here to stay

Today was one of those days
Cause nothing was going my way
And it is even for
I find it easy to recall

You saved my day
Now that you love is here to stay
You saved my day
Now that you love is here to stay

Tell me how you did your love
And I was feeling mighty low
And just like an S.O.S.
You came to my distress.

You saved my day
Now that you love is here to stay
You saved my day
Now that you love is here to stay

Your tender kiss wiped away my tears
You sudden smile made my blues disappear

You saved my day
Now that you love is here to stay
You saved my day
Now that you love is here to stay

I just want to say
Thank you
Thank you
Thank you
Thank you
Thank you
Thank you

You saved my day
Now that you love is here to stay
You saved my day
Now that you love is here to stay

You saved my day
You saved my day
You saved my day
You saved my day

You came around where I was alone
Needed love and you came along
You came around where I was alone
Needed love and you came along

You came around where I was alone
Needed love and you came along

You saved my day
You saved my day
You saved my day
You saved my day.

LABEL: EPIC RECORDS
GENRE: R & B
YEAR: 1984

Diamond Life is the debut studio album by English band Sade, released in the United Kingdom on 16 July 1984 by Epic Records and in the United States on 27 February 1985 by Portrait Records. The album's content was written by the group Sade and the production was handled by Robin Millar. Fifteen songs were recorded. The album contained a variety of musical elements including soul, jazz and sophisti-pop, mostly with love lyrics. The album spawned four singles, including "Your Love Is King" and "Smooth Operator".
Music critics acclaimed Diamond Life and it was also a commercial success, winning the 1985 Brit Award for Best British Album. Diamond Life sold over 10 million copies worldwide, becoming one of the top-selling debut recordings of the era and the best-selling debut album by a British female vocalist, a record that stood for 24 years.
In heaven's name why are you walking away
Hang on to your love
In heaven's name why do you play these games
Hang on to your love
Take time if you're down on luck
It's so easy to walk out on love
Take your time if the going gets tough
It's so precious
So if you want it to get stronger
You'd better not let go
You gotta hold on longer
If you want your love to grow
Gotta stick together
Hand in glove
Hold tight, don't fight
Hang on to your love
In heaven's name why are you walking away
Hang on to your love
In heaven's name why do you play these games
Hang on to your love
Be brave when the journey is rough
It's not easy when you're in love
Don't be ashamed when the going gets tough
It's not easy don't give up
If you want it to get stronger
You'd better not let go
You gotta hold on longer
If you want your love to grow
Gotta stick together
Hand in glove
Hold tight, don't fight
Hang on to your love
