Robert Keith McFerrin Jr.(born March 11, 1950) is an American folk and jazz singer. He is known for his vocal techniques, such as singing fluidly but with quick and considerable jumps in pitch—for example, sustaining a melody while also rapidly alternating with arpeggios and harmonies—as well as scat singing, polyphonic overtone singing, and improvisational vocal percussion. He is widely known for performing and recording regularly as an unaccompanied solo vocal artist. He has frequently collaborated with other artists from both the jazz and classical scenes.
McFerrin's song "Don't Worry, Be Happy" was a Nº 1 U.S. pop hit in 1988 and won Song of the Year and Record of the Year honors at the 1989 Grammy Awards. McFerrin has also worked in collaboration with instrumentalists, including the pianists Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, and Joe Zawinul, the drummer Tony Williams, and the cellist Yo-Yo Ma.
McFerrin was born in Manhattan, New York City, United States, the son of operatic baritone Robert McFerrin and singer Sara Copper. He attended Cathedral High School in Los Angeles, Cerritos College, University of Illinois Springfield(then known as Sangamon State University) and California State University, Sacramento.
His mother Sara (Copper) McFerrin was a soloist and taught voice at Fullerton College in Southern California.
Here's a little song I wrote
You might want to sing it note for note
Don't worry, be happy
In every life we have some trouble
But when you worry, you make it double
Don't worry, be happy
Don't worry, be happy now

Don't worry
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh) Be happy
(Ooh-ooh-ooh) Don't worry, be happy
(Ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh) Don't worry
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh) Be happy
(Ooh-ooh-ooh) Don't worry, be happy

Ain't got no place to lay your head
Somebody came and took your bed
Don't worry, be happy
The landlord say your rent is late
He may have to litigate
Don't worry, be happy (look at me, I'm happy)

Don't worry
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh) Be happy
(Ooh-ooh-ooh) Hey I give you my phone number
When you worry, call me, I make you happy
(Ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh) Don't worry
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh) Be happy
(Ooh-ooh-ooh)

Ain't got no cash, ain't got no style
Ain't got no gal to make you smile
But don't worry, be happy
'Cause when you worry your face will frown
And that will bring everybody down
So don't worry, be happy
Don't worry, be happy now

Don't worry
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh) Be happy
(Ooh-ooh-ooh) Don't worry, be happy
(Ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh) Don't worry
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh) Be happy
(Ooh-ooh-ooh) Don't worry, be happy.

Now there is this song I wrote
I hope you learned it note for note, like good little children
Dn't worry, be happy
Now listen to what I said, in your life expect some trouble
But when you worry, you make it double
But don't worry, be happy, be happy now

Don't worry
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh) Be happy
(Ooh-ooh-ooh) Don't worry, be happy
(Ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh) Don't worry
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh) Be happy
(Ooh-ooh-ooh) Don't worry, be happy
(Ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh) don't worry, don't worry
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh) Don't do it, be happy
(Ooh-ooh-ooh) Put a smile in your face, don't bring everybody down like this
(Ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh) Don't worry
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh) It will soon pass, whatever it is
(Ooh-ooh-ooh) don't worry, be happy
(Ooh, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh) I'm not worried
(Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh) I'm happy.

Hymn for My Soul is the twentieth studio album by Joe Cocker, released in 2007. It was produced by Ethan Johns. Musicians on these special sessions included Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers' Benmont Tench, legendary drummer Jim Keltner, Mike Finnigan, ace guitarist Albert Lee, Dave Palmer, Greg Leisz, James Gadson, Bob Babbitt and Johns. The songs include Cocker's signatures on George Harrison's "Beware of Darkness", Bob Dylan's "Ring Them Bells", John Fogerty's "Long As I Can See The Light" and Stevie Wonder's "You Haven't Done Nothin'".
The album reached Nº 9 on the UK Albums Chart, becoming Cocker's highest-charting album in the UK along with Have a Little Faith(1994).
John Robert "Joe" Cocker (20 May 1944 – 22 December 2014) was an English singer known for his gritty, bluesy voice and dynamic stage performances that featured expressive body movements. Most of his best known singles were recordings of songs written by other song writers, though he composed a number of songs for most of his albums as well, often in conjunction with songwriting partner Chris Stainton.
His first album featured a recording of the Beatles' "With a Little Help from My Friends", which brought him to near-instant stardom. The song reached number one in the UK in 1968, became a staple of his many live shows (Woodstock and the Isle of Wight in 1969, the Party at the Palace in 2002) and was also known as the theme song for the late 1980s American TV series The Wonder Years. He continued his success with his second album, which included a second Beatles song: "She Came In Through the Bathroom Window". A hastily thrown together 1970 US tour led to the live double-album Mad Dogs & Englishmen, which featured an all-star band organized by Leon Russell. His 1974 recording of "You Are So Beautiful" reached number five in the US, and became his signature song. Cocker's best selling song was the US number one "Up Where We Belong", a duet with Jennifer Warnes that earned a 1983 Grammy Award. He released a total of 22 studio albums over a 43-year recording career.
In 1993, Cocker was nominated for the Brit Award for Best British Male. He was awarded a bronze Sheffield Legends plaque in his hometown in 2007, and received an OBE the following year for services to music. Cocker was ranked number 97 on Rolling Stone's 100 greatest singers list.
Skin so soft, smile so new
It's all these things I see in you
Heart so warm and your mind so clear
It's things like this I see in you, my dear

I believe everything about you, baby
(I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe)

So many things in you to appreciate
Like in a impatient child, I can hardly wait
My found of love is going round
Because of you girl, I'm so proud (I'm so proud, baby)
It don't matter how foolish I might sound
It would be the most senseless, of having you around

I believe everything about you, baby
(I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe)

Love is for me
You oughta be
Right here in my loving arms (right here in my loving arms)
Please don't you wait, don't hesitate
Turn on your loving charms
Turn them on little momma, give me your loving baby

I don't mean to impose on you
Such a prize to my eyes, what else could I do
Help me climb the mountain of success
The cliffs that lead to your happiness
I believe everything about you baby
(I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe, I believe)

Love is for me (love is for me)
You oughta be (to be)
Right here in my loving arms (right in my loving arms)
Please don't you wait, don't hesitate
Turn on your loving charms

Right now baby
Your love is for me (love is for me)
You know it
I believe everything about you baby
Make me feel real good

I can hardly wait for your love
And you know about your love then, baby (your love is for me)
I believe everything
Everything you saw (love is for me)

But I don't know, I must continue
(Love is for me)
Give me your love, baby
(Love is for me).

Christina Judith Perri(born August 19, 1986) is an American singer and songwriter. After her debut single "Jar of Hearts" was featured on the television series So You Think You Can Dance in 2010, Perri signed with Atlantic Records and released her debut extended play, The Ocean Way Sessions. Her debut studio album, Lovestrong(2011), followed soon after and has since been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America(RIAA).
Perri also gained recognition for writing and recording "A Thousand Years", the love theme for the film The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2(2012), which appears on the accompanying soundtrack. The song went on to sell over 10 million copies in the United States, being certified Diamond, and the official music video reached two billion views on YouTube in December 2021. She later released her second extended play, A Very Merry Perri Christmas(2012), followed by her second studio album, Head or Heart(2014). After recording the lullaby albums Songs for Carmella(2019) and Songs for Rosie(2021), Perri released her third studio album, A Lighter Shade of Blue(2022).
Perri was born in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. She is of Italian and Polish descent, and has called her family "very Italian". She has an older brother, Nick Perri, who formerly played guitar with Shinedown, Silvertide, Perry Farrell and Matt Sorum and cousin Dominic Perri.
She graduated from Archbishop Ryan High School in 2004 and later attended the University of the Arts. She taught herself how to play guitar as a 16-year-old by watching a videotape of Shannon Hoon from the group Blind Melon performing on VH1. In college she majored in communication for a year before dropping out to pursue a music career.
She frequently sang and acted in musical theater as a child. Perri claims to have learned to play piano and guitar because she missed hearing music being played in the house when she moved away. According to Perri, whenever she played the guitar or piano, she would sing and "all of a sudden these songs would appear."
Christina Perri has been waiting what feels like a thousand years to dedicate her voice to a daughter.
While the "Jar of Hearts" singer may have taken a momentary hiatus from putting out new tunes after the release of her 2014 album Head or Heart, it turns out she had signed her voice over to motherhood. Perri and her husband Paul Costabile welcomed their first child, a daughter named Carmella Stanley, on Jan. 17, shortly after they tied the knot on Dec. 12, 2017, in New York City.
Using her experience with becoming a mother to “tiptoe back into working and putting out new music,” Perri, 32, is announcing her latest and greatest project: a lullaby album.
“Putting out new songs that I sang to her all year feels so authentic and genuine as to where I’m at in my real life. I am a huge fan of when people are authentic of where people are at,” she tells PEOPLE about her album Songs for Carmella: Lullabies & Sing-a-Longs, which is set to be released on Carmella’s first birthday.
“I just didn’t want to jump into a new project that wasn’t related to how amazing my life is right now due to my daughter,” she adds. “That’s the biggest and best thing that’s ever happened to me, so I didn’t want to pretend that didn’t happen.”
You are my sunshine
My only sunshine
You make me happy
When skies are gray
You'll never know, dear
How much I love you
Please don't take
My sunshine away

The other night, dear
As I lay sleeping
I dreamed I held you
In my arms
When I awoke, dear
I was mistaken
So I hung my head and I cried

You are my sunshine
My only sunshine
You make me happy
When skies are gray
You'll never know, dear
How much I love you
Please don't take
My sunshine away.

A porta vai tá sempre aberta
O meu olhar vai dar uma festa
Na hora que você chegar

E de uma coisa fique certa, amor
A porta vai tá sempre aberta
O meu olhar vai dar uma festa, amor
Na hora que você chegar
Na hora que você chegar

Sei que errei, tô aqui pra te pedir perdão
Cabeça doida, coração na mão
Desejo pegando fogo

E sem saber direito a hora nem o que fazer
Não encontro uma palavra só pra te dizer
Mas se eu fosse você
Eu voltava pra mim de novo

E de uma coisa fique certa, amor
A porta vai tá sempre aberta
O meu olhar vai dar uma festa
Na hora que você chegar

E de uma coisa fique certa, amor
A porta vai tá sempre aberta
O meu olhar vai dar uma festa
Na hora que você chegar

Na hora que você chegar
Na hora que você chegar
Na hora que você chegar.
