Peel me a grape, crush me some ice
Skin me a peach, save the fuzz for my pillow
Talk to me nice, talk to me nice
You've got to wine and dine me

Don't try to fool me bejewel me
Either amuse me or lose me
I'm getting hungry, peel me a grape

Pop me a cork, french me a fry
Crack me a nut, bring a bowl full of bon-bons
Chill me some wine, keep standing by
Just entertain me, champagne me
Show me you love me, kid glove me
Best way to cheer me, cashmere me
I'm getting hungry, peel me grape

Here's how to be an agreeable chap
Love me and leave me in luxury's lap
Hop when I holler, skip when I snap
When I say, "do it," jump to it

Send out for scotch, boil me a crab
Cut me a rose, make my tea with the petals
Just hang around, pick up the tab
Never out think me, just mink me
Polar bear rug me, don't bug me
New Thunderbird me, you heard me
I'm getting hungry, peel me a grape.
THE VERY THOUGHT OF YOU
TONY BENNETT & ANA CAROLINA
SONGWRITER: RAY NOBLE(1934)
COUNTRY: U.S.A.
ALBUM: THE VERY THOUGHT OF YOU
LABEL: COLUMBIA RECORDS
GENRE: POP
YEAR: 2012

Brazilian singer Ana Carolina was in New York earlier this week where she recorded with Tony Bennett the song "The Very Thought of You" by Nat King Cole, which will be part of the artist's new CD. At the request of Bennett, Ana made a Portuguese version for part of the song ....
The very thought of you
And I forget to do
The little ordinary things that everyone ought to do
E eu vivo assim sempre a sonhar assim
Feliz eu estou, enfim
Parece só ilusão
Mas é muito pra mim

The mere idea of you, the longing here for you
You'll never know how slow the moments go
Till I'm near to you
Eu posso ver seu rosto lindo
Se abrir em cada flor
It's just the thought of you
Penso muito em ti, my Love

The mere idea of you, the longing here for you
You'll never know how slow the moments go
Till I'm near to you

Eu posso ver seu rosto lindo
Se abrir em cada flor
It's just the thought of you
Penso muito em ti, amor.
PURPLE HAZE
JIMI HENDRIX
SONGWRITER: JIMI HENDRIX
WHERE: LIVE AT THE ATLANTA POP FESTIVAL
COUNTRY: U.S.A.
ALBUM: ARE YOU EXPERIENCED?
LABEL: TRACK
GENRE: PSYCHEDELIC ROCK
YEAR: 1967

"Purple Haze" is a song written by Jimi Hendrix and released as the second record single by the Jimi Hendrix Experience on March 17, 1967. As a record chart hit in several countries and the opening number on the Experience's debut American album, it was many people's first exposure to Hendrix's psychedelic rock sound.
The song features his inventive guitar playing, which uses the signature Hendrix chord and a mix of blues and Eastern modalities, shaped by novel sound processing techniques. Because of ambiguities in the lyrics, listeners often interpret the song as referring to a psychedelic experience, although Hendrix described it as a love song.
"Purple Haze" is one of Hendrix's best-known songs and appears on many Hendrix compilation albums. The song featured regularly in concerts and each of Hendrix's group configurations issued live recordings. It was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame and is included on lists of the greatest guitar songs, including at number two by Rolling Stone and number one by Q magazine.
Purple Haze all in my brain,
lately things don't seem the same,
actin' funny but I don't know why
'scuse me while I kiss the sky.

Purple Haze all around,
don't know if I'm coming up or down.
Am I happy or in misery?
Whatever it is, that girl put a spell on me.

Help me
Help me
Oh no, oh

Yeah, Purple Haze all in my eyes,
don't know if it's day or night,
you've got me blowing, blowing my mind
is it tomorrow or just the end of time?

Help me, yeah, Purple Haze!

Despite several severe interruptions in her career, she is still active as a recording and performing artist.
There's nothing left for me
Of days that used to be
They're just a memory
Among my souvenirs

Some letters sad and blue
A photograph or two
I see a rose from you
Among my souvenirs

A few more tokens rest
Within my treasure chest
And, though they do their best
To give me consolation

I count them all apart
And, as the teardrops start
I find a broken heart
Among my souvenirs

I count them all apart
And, as the teardrops start
I find a broken heart
Among my souvenirs.
BORN TO BE WILD
STEPPENWOLF
SONGWRITER: MARS BONFIRE
WHERE: LIVE AT FARM 1986
COUNTRY: CANADIAN-AMERICAN
ALBUM: STEPPENWOLF
LABEL: DUNHILL
GENRE: HARD ROCK
YEAR: 1968

"Born to Be Wild" is a song written by Mars Bonfire and first performed by the band Steppenwolf, The song is often invoked in both popular and counter culture to denote a biker appearance or attitude. It is sometimes described as the first heavy metal song, and the second verse lyric "heavy metal thunder" marks the first use of this term in rock music (although not as a description of a musical style).
Steppenwolf is a Canadian-American rock band, prominent from 1968 to 1972. The group was formed in late 1967 in Los Angeles by lead singer John Kay, keyboardist Goldy McJohn, and drummer Jerry Edmonton (all formerly in Jack London & the Sparrows from Oshawa, Ontario). Guitarist Michael Monarch and bass guitarist Rushton Moreve were recruited by notices placed in Los Angeles-area record and musical instrument stores.
Steppenwolf sold over 25 million records worldwide, released eight gold albums and 12 Billboard Hot 100 singles, of which six were top 40 hits, including three top 10 successes: "Born to Be Wild", "Magic Carpet Ride", and "Rock Me". Steppenwolf enjoyed worldwide success from 1968 to 1972, but clashing personalities led to the end of the core lineup. Today, John Kay is the only original member, having served as the lead singer since 1967.
Get your motor runnin'
Head out on the highway
Lookin' for adventure
And whatever comes our way
Yeah Darlin' go make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once
And explode into space

I like smoke and lightning
Heavy metal thunder
Racin' with the wind
And the feelin' that I'm under
Yeah Darlin' go make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once
And explode into space

Like a true nature's child
We were born, born to be wild
We can climb so high
I never wanna die

Born to be wild
Born to be wild

Get your motor runnin'
Head out on the highway
Lookin' for adventure
And whatever comes our way
Yeah Darlin' go make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
Fire all of your guns at once
And explode into space

Like a true nature's child
We were born, born to be wild
We can climb so high
I never wanna die

Born to be wild
Born to be wild.

Samba Pa Ti
Eu sou a sombra de uma frase,
Eu sou o eco de uma dor.
Triste solidão que eu tenho hoje.
A memória do amado
e desolação um estranho, EYY, eyyy.
Eu sou a sombra de uma frase,
Eu sou o eco de uma dor.
Que eu esqueça, eu quero encontrar o perdão.
Tem misericórdia de meu coração
Eu te imploro, meu Senhor.
Apagar a escuridão e esconder minhas lágrimas
Eu sofro a memória vai se tornar uma canção.
Voltar à vida, eu vou cantar, você verá,
vida novamente, eu vou cantar, você vai ver.

Certi capivano il jazz
L'argenteria spariva…
Ladri di stelle e di jazz
Così eravamo noi, così eravamo noi

Pochi capivano il jazz
Troppe cravatte sbagliate…
Ragazzi-scimmia del jazz
Così eravamo noi, così eravamo noi

Sotto le stelle del jazz
Ma quanta notte è passata…
Marisa, svegliami, abbracciami
è stato un sogno fortissimo…

Le donne odiavano il jazz
"non si capisce il motivo"
Du-dad-du-dad

Sotto le stelle del jazz
Un uomo-scimmia cammina
O forse balla, chissà
Du-dad-du-dad

Duemila enigmi nel jazz
Ah, non si capisce il motivo…
Nel tempo fatto di attimi
E settimane enigmistiche…

Sotto la luna del jazz…
(LOOKINF FOR)THE HEART OF SATURDAY NIGHT
TOM WAITS
SONGWRITER: TOM WAITS
COUNTRY: U.S.A.
ALBUM: THE HEART OF SATURDAY NIGHT
LABEL: ASYLUM RECORDS
GENRE: FOLK
YEAR: 1974

The Heart of Saturday Night is the second studio album by singer and songwriter Tom Waits, released in 1974 on Asylum Records. The title song was written as a tribute to Jack Kerouac.
Thomas Alan Waits (born December 7, 1949) is an American singer, songwriter, musician, composer, and actor. His music is characterized by his distinctive deep, gravelly singing voice and lyrics focusing on the underside of U.S. society. During the 1970s, he worked primarily in jazz, but since the 1980s his music has reflected greater influence from blues, vaudeville, and experimental genres.
Waits was born and raised in a middle-class family in California. Inspired by Bob Dylan and the Beat Generation, he began singing on the San Diego folk music scene as a teenager. In Los Angeles, he worked as a songwriter before signing a recording contract with Asylum Records. His first albums, the jazz-oriented Closing Time (1973) and The Heart of Saturday Night (1974), reflected his lyrical interest in nightlife, poverty, and criminality. Repeatedly touring the U.S., Europe, and Japan, he attracted greater critical recognition and commercial success with Small Change (1976), which he followed with Blue Valentine (1978) and Heartattack and Vine (1980). He produced the soundtrack for Francis Ford Coppola's 1981 film One from the Heart and subsequently made cameo appearances in several Coppola films. During the 1970s, he also had relationships with two prominent performers, Bette Midler and Rickie Lee Jones.
Well you gassed her up
Behind the wheel
With your arm around your sweet one
In your Oldsmobile
Barrelin' down the boulevard
You're looking for the heart of Saturday night

And you got paid on Friday
And your pockets are jinglin'
And you see the lights
You get all tinglin' cause you're cruisin' with a 6
And you're looking for the heart of Saturday night

Then you comb your hair
Shave your face
Tryin' to wipe out ev'ry trace
All the other days
In the week you know that this'll be the Saturday
You're reachin' your peak

Stoppin' on the red
You're goin' on the green
'Cause tonight'll be like nothin'
You've ever seen
And you're barrelin' down the boulevard
Lookin' for the heart of Saturday night

Tell me is the crack of the poolballs, neon buzzin?
Telephone's ringin'; it's your second cousin
Is it the barmaid that's smilin' from the corner of her eye?
Magic of the melancholy tear in your eye.

Makes it kind of quiver down in the core
'Cause you're dreamin' of them Saturdays that came before
And now you're stumblin'
You're stumblin' onto the heart of Saturday night

Well you gassed her up
And you're behind the wheel
With your arm around your sweet one
In your Oldsmobile
Barrellin' down the boulevard,
You're lookin' for the heart of Saturday night

Is the crack of the poolballs, neon buzzin?
Telephone's ringin'; it's your second cousin
And the barmaid is smilin' from the corner of her eye
Magic of the melancholy tear in your eye.

Makes it kind of special down in the core
And you're dreamin' of them Saturdays that came before
It's found you stumblin'
Stumblin' onto the heart of Saturday night
And you're stumblin'
Stumblin onto the heart of Saturday night.
