LABEL: WARNER BROS RECORDS
GENRE: SOUL
YEAR: 1984

I Feel for You is the Platinum certified fifth solo album by American R&B/funk singer Chaka Khan, released on the Warner Bros. Records label in 1984.
After having balanced her two simultaneous careers as a member of the band Rufus and a solo performer during the years 1978 to 1983, which culminated with the release of the final Rufus & Chaka Khan album Stompin' at the Savoy – Live after which the band dissolved, Khan recorded the album that was to make her a pop star with mainstream chart success; 1984's I Feel for You.
The title track, "I Feel for You" was a cover of a 1979 Prince track, featuring Grandmaster Melle Mel on the classic "Ch-ch-ch-chaka-chaka-chaka Khan" rap intro and Stevie Wonder on chromatic harmonica (and also a sample from one of his first hits, "Fingertips") and saw Khan embracing high-tech funk, rap and hip hop and stands as one of her best known songs and her biggest commercial hit, reaching number 3 on the US Pop chart (and becoming the Billboard number 5 best-selling song of the year in. 1985), and topped the US R&B, Dance, and UK singles charts. The song earned her a second Grammy Award in 1985 for Best R&B Vocal Performance, Female.

Baby, baby, when I look at you
I get a warm feeling inside
There's something about the things you do
That keeps me satisfied

I wouldn't lie to you, baby
It's mainly a physical thing
This feeling that I got for you, baby
It makes me wanna sing

I feel for you
I think I love you
I feel for you
I think I love you

Baby, baby, when I lay wit' you
There's no place I'd rather be
I can't believe, can't believe it's true
The things that you do to me

I wouldn't lie to you, baby
I'm physically attracted to you
This feeling that I got for you, baby (Ooh baby)
There's nothing that I wouldn't do (For you girl)

I feel for you
I think I love you
I feel for you
I think I love you

Play

I think it's love
I feel for you
I think it's love
I feel for you
I think I love you
I feel for you
I think it's love

Play

I feel for you
I think I love you
I feel for you

I think I love you

It reached #60 in the US and #15 on the R&B charts. and was one of the few Khan hits to cross to the Adult Contemporary chart. The music video was filmed at Los Angeles Union Station.
Foster revealed in his 2011 PBS Concert "The Hit Man Returns" that this was the only melody that he ever wrote with someone in mind and that the working title of the piece was actually called "Chaka" because he was very confident that Khan would perform the song.

[** feat. Chaka Khan:]

I look in your eyes and I can see*
We've loved so dangerously
You're not trusting your heart to anyone
You tell me you're gonna play it smart
We're through before we start
But I believe that we've only just begun

When it's this good, there's no saying no
I want you so, I'm ready to go

[Chorus:]
Through the fire
To the limit, to the wall
For a chance to be with you
I'd gladly risk it all
Through the fire
Through whatever, come what may
For a chance at loving you
I'd take it all the way
Right down to the wire
Even through the fire

I know you're afraid of what you feel
You still need time to heal
And I can help if you'll only let me try
You touch me and something in me knew
What I could have with you
Well I'm not ready to kiss that dream goodbye

When it's this sweet, there's no saying no
I need you so, I'm ready to go

[Chorus]

Through the test of time

[Chorus]

Through the fire, to the limit
Through the fire, through whatever
Through the fire, to the limit

Through the fire, through whatever

I used to be so happy
But without you here I feel so low
I watched you as you left
But I can never seem to let you go
Cause once upon a time you were my everything
It's clear to see that time hasn't changed a thing
It's buried deep inside me
But I feel there's something you should know

I will never forget you
And you'll always be by my side
From the day that I met you
I knew that I would love you till the day I die
And I will never want much more
And in my heart I'll always be sure
I will never forget you
And you'll always be by my side
Till the day I die
Till the day I die
Till the day I die
Till the day I die

Funny how we both end up here
But everything seems so right
I wonder what would happen
If we went back and put up a fight
Cause once upon a time you were my everything
It's clear to see that time hasn't changed a thing
So thoughtful whisper
Do you think I'll ever take you off my mind

I will never forget you
And you'll always be by my side
From the day that I met you
I knew that I would love you till the day I die
And I will never want much more
And in my heart I'll always be sure
I will never forget you
And you'll always be by my side
Till the day I die

Feeling it, loving it
Everything that we do
And all along
I knew I had
Something special with you
But sometimes
You just gotta know
That these things fall through
But I'm still tied
And I can't hide
My connection with you

Feeling it, loving it
Everything that we do
And all along
I knew I had
Something special with you
But sometimes
You just gotta know
That these things fall through
I can't hide my connection with you

I will never forget you
And you'll always be by my side
From the day that I met you
I knew that I would love you till the day I die
And I will never want much more
And in my heart I'll always be sure
I will never forget you
And you'll always be by my side
Till the day I die

Till the day I die
Till the day I die
Till the day I die

Till the day I die
Till the day I die
Till the day I die

I will never forget you
I will never, never, never, never, never, never, never, never

I will never forget you

Till the day I die
SPOONFUL
HOWLIN' WOLF
SONGWRITER: WILLIE DIXON
COUNTRY: U.S.A.
ALBUM: SPOONFUL
LABEL: CHESS RECORDS
GENRE: BLUES
YEAR: 1960

"Spoonful" is a blues song written by Willie Dixon and first recorded in 1960 by Howlin' Wolf. Called "a stark and haunting work", it is one of Dixon's best known and most interpreted songs. Etta James had a pop and R&B record chart hit with "Spoonful" in 1961, and it was popularized in the late 1960s by the British rock group Cream.
The Howlin' Wolf Album is a 1969 album by Howlin' Wolf, with Rotary Connection as his backing band. It mixed blues with psychedelic rock arrangements on several of Howlin' Wolf's classic songs. Howlin' Wolf strongly disliked the album, and Chess Records referenced this fact on the album's cover. The album peaked at No. 69 on the Billboard Black Albums chart.

It could be a spoonful of coffee
It could be a spoonful of tea
But one little spoon of your precious love
Is good enough for me

Men lie about that spoonful
Some cry about that spoonful
Some die about that spoonful
Everybody fight about a spoonful
That spoon, that spoon, that spoonful

It could be a spoonful of water
To save you from the desert sand
But one spoon of love1 from my forty-five
Will save you from another man
Men lie about that spoonful
Some cry about that spoonful
Some die about that spoonful
Everybody fight about a spoonful
That spoon, that spoon, that spoonful
That spoon, that spoon, that spoonful

It could be a spoonful of sugar
It could be a spoonful of tea
But one little spoon of your precious love
Is good enough for me
Men lie about that spoonful
Some cry about that spoonful
Some die about that spoonful
Everybody fight about a spoonful
That spoon, that spoon, that spoonful
That spoon, that spoon, that spoonful
That spoon, that spoon, that spoonful

That spoon, that spoon, that spoonful
