Maroon 5 is an American pop rock band from Los Angeles, California. It currently consists of lead vocalist Adam Levine, keyboardist and rhythm guitarist Jesse Carmichael, lead guitarist James Valentine, drummer Matt Flynn, keyboardist PJ Morton and multi-instrumentalist and bassist Sam Farrar.         After self-releasing their independent album We Like Digging?, the band signed to Reprise Records and released the album The Fourth World in 1997. The album garnered a tepid response, after which the record label dropped the band and the members focused on college. In 2001, the band re-emerged as Maroon 5, pursuing a different direction and adding guitarist Valentine. The band signed with Octone Records, an independent record label with a separate joint venture relationship with J Records and released their debut album Songs About Jane in June 2002. Aided by the hit singles "Harder to Breathe", "This Love" and "She Will Be Loved", the album peaked at number six on the Billboard 200, Mchart and went quadruple platinum in 2005. In the same year, the band won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist. In 2006, Dusick left the band after suffering from serious wrist and shoulder injuries and was replaced by Matt Flynn.
Songs About Jane is the debut studio album by American pop rock band Maroon 5. The album was released on June 25, 2002, by Octone and J Records. It became a sleeper hit with the help of five singles that attained chart success, including the Billboard hit "Harder to Breathe" and international hits "This Love" and "She Will Be Loved".
The album was re-released on October 14, 2003, becoming a huge international commercial success, while garnering a generally positive critical reception. It topped the album charts in Australia, France, New Zealand, the Republic of Ireland and the United Kingdom, and reached the top-ten in 17 other countries. At the end of 2004, the album reached the top-ten of the US Billboard 200 chart. It had sold nearly 2.7 million copies by the end of 2004, and over 5.1 million copies in the U.S. by August 2015. It has sold over 10 million copies worldwide as of 2007.
On June 5, 2012, the band released the album's 10th anniversary edition, to coincide with their fourth studio album Overexposed. This is their only album to feature the original drummer Ryan Dusick.
I was so high, I did not recognize
The fire burning in her eyes
The chaos that controlled my mind
Whispered goodbye as she got on a plane
Never to return again but always in my heart, oh

This love has taken its toll on me
She said goodbye too many times before
And her heart is breakin' in front of me
And I have no choice
'Cause I won't say goodbye anymore

Whoa
Whoa
Whoa

I tried my best to feed her apetite
Keep her coming every night
So hard to keep her satisfied, oh
Kept playing love like it was just a game
Pretending to feel the same
Then turn around and leave again, but uh-oh

This love has taken its toll on me
She said goodbye too many times before
And her heart is breakin' in front of me
And I have no choice
'Cause I won't say goodbye anymore

Whoa
Whoa
Whoa

I'll fix these broken things, repair your broken wings
And make sure everything's all right (It's all right, it's all right)
My pressure on your hips, I'm sinking my fingertips
Every inch of you
Beacause I know that's what you want me to do

This love has taken its toll on me
She said goodbye too many times before
Her heart is breakin' in front of me
And I have no choice
'Cause I won't say goodbye anymore

This love has taken its toll on me
She said goodbye too many times before
And my heart is breakin' in front of me
And she said goodbye too many times before

This love has taken its toll on me
She said goodbye too many times before
And her heart is breakin' in front of me
And I have no choice
'Cause I won't say goodbye anymore.

They consist of vocalist and pianist Chris Martin, guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, drummer Will Champion and creative director Phil Harvey. They met at University College London and began playing music together from 1996 to 1998, first calling themselves Pectoralz and then Starfish.
After releasing Safety EP independently in 1998, the band signed with Parlophone during the next year. Their debut album, Parachutes(2000), included the breakthrough hit "Yellow" and received a Brit Award for British Album of the Year, a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album, as well as a Mercury Prize nomination. Their second album, A Rush of Blood to the Head(2002), won the same accolades while also spawning the singles "Clocks" and "The Scientist", with the former winning a Grammy Award for Record of the Year. The band's third album, X&Y(2005), was the best-selling of the year worldwide, topping the charts of over 30 countries. On Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends (2008), Coldplay achieved the distinction once again and explored new musical territory following the completion of what they considered a trilogy. It earned them a Grammy Award for Best Rock Album and their first Album of the Year nomination, while title track "Viva la Vida" marked the first time a British group went number-one in both the United Kingdom and United States in the 21st century.
"Hymn for the Weekend" is a single by the British rock band Coldplay from their seventh studio album A Head Full of Dreams(2015), featuring the American singer Beyoncé in an uncredited appearance. It was written by the band's members (Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland, Will Champion, and Chris Martin), while the production was handled by Rik Simpson, Avicii, Digital Divide, and Stargate. An indie R&B track, "Hymn for the Weekend" showcases the culture of India.
"Hymn for the Weekend" has reached number six on the UK Singles Chart and also reached the top twenty in countries such as Switzerland, Ireland, France, Sweden, Austria, Belgium, Italy and Spain. In the US, with the Seeb remix, the song reached number 25 on the US Billboard Hot 100. A music video for the song was released on 29 January 2016 and features Coldplay in various cities in India, with Beyoncé performing in some scenes. It also featured Indian Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor in a brief role.

Oh, angel sent from up above
You know you make my world light up
When I was down, when I was hurt
You came to lift me up
Life is a drink, and love's a drug
Oh, now I think I must be miles up
When I was hurt, withered, dried up
You came to rain a flood

You said drink from me, drink from me
When I was so thirsty
Pour on a symphony
Now I just can't get enough
Put your wings on me, wings on me
When I was so heavy
Pour on a symphony
When I'm low, low, low, low

Ah-oh-ah-oh-ah
Got me feeling drunk and high
So high, so high
Oh-ah-oh-ah-oh-ah
Now I'm feeling drunk and high
So high, so high
(Woo)
(Woo-ooh-ooh-woo)

Oh, angel sent from up above
I feel you coursing through my blood
Life is a drink, your love's about
To make the stars come out

Put your wings on me, wings on me
When I was so heavy
Pour on a symphony
When I'm low, low, low, low

Ah-oh-ah-oh-ah
Got me feeling drunk and high
So high, so high
Oh-ah-oh-ah-oh-ah
Now I'm feeling drunk and high
So high, so high

Ah-oh-ah-oh-ah
La, la, la, la, la, la, la
So high, so high
Ah-oh-ah-oh-ah
I'm feeling drunk and high
So high, so high

That we shoot across the sky
That we shoot across the
That we shoot across the sky
That we shoot across the (that we shoot, yeah)
That we shoot across the sky
That we shoot across the
That we shoot across the sky
That we shoot across the.

Crowded House are a rock band, formed in Melbourne, Australia in 1985. Its founding members were New Zealander Neil Finn(vocalist, guitarist, primary songwriter) and Australians Paul Hester (drums) and Nick Seymour(bass). Later band members included Neil Finn's brother, Tim Finn, and Americans Mark Hart and Matt Sherrod. The current line-up includes Finn's sons Elroy and Liam and the American keyboard player Mitchell Froom. Neil Finn and Nick Seymour have been the sole constant members of the group since its formation.
Originally active from 1985 to 1996, Crowded House had consistent commercial and critical success in New Zealand and Australia and international chart success in two phases, beginning with a self-titled debut album that reached number 12 on the US Album Chart in 1987 and provided the Top Ten hits "Don't Dream It's Over" and "Something So Strong". Further international success came in the UK, Europe and South Africa with their third and fourth albums (Woodface and Together Alone) and the compilation album Recurring Dream, which included the hits "Fall at Your Feet", "Weather with You", "Distant Sun", "Locked Out", "Instinct" and "Not the Girl You Think You Are". Neil and Tim Finn were each awarded an OBE in June 1993 for their contributions to the music of New Zealand.
In June 1996, Crowded House announced that it would disband. The band played several farewell concerts that year, including the "Farewell to the World" concerts in Melbourne and Sydney. On 26 March 2005, Hester died by suicide, aged 46. In 2006, the group re-formed with drummer Matt Sherrod and released two further albums (in 2007 and 2010), each of which reached number one on Australia's album chart. After several years of inactivity, it was announced a revised line-up of Crowded House would tour the UK in 2020. The new line-up features Neil Finn, Nick Seymour, Mitchell Froom, and Finn's sons Liam and Elroy. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the band's planned 2020 concerts were postponed.
Crowded House is the debut album by Australasian band Crowded House. Produced by Mitchell Froom, it was released in August 1986 and was certified platinum in four countries. The album includes the hit singles "Don't Dream It's Over", "Something So Strong", "Mean to Me", "World Where You Live" and "Now We're Getting Somewhere".
At the 1986 Countdown Australian Music Awards the album won Best Debut Album. In December of 2021, the album was listed at nº 7 in Rolling Stone Australia’s ‘200 Greatest Albums of All Time’ countdown.
It never used to be that bad
But neither was it great
It's somewhere in the middle then
Content and much too safe
Oh, tell me please
Why it takes so long
To realise when there's something wrong

Well, lay me out with your heart
Now we're getting somewhere
Push me back to the start
Now we're getting someplace
Take me out, let me breathe
Now we're getting somewhere
When I'm with you I don't care
Where it is I'm falling

There's money in the Bible Belt
Hugs for daddy too
Three wishes for eternity
We've got some work to do
Oh, tell me please, why it takes so long
I believe there is something wrong

Well, lay me out with your heart
Now we're getting somewhere
Push me back to the start
Now we're getting someplace
Take me out, let me breathe
Now we're getting somewhere
When I'm with you, I don't care
Where it is I'm falling, oh oh

Oh, tell me please, tell me what went wrong
'Cause I believe there is something wrong

Oh, lay me out
Now we're getting somewhere
Push me back
Now we're getting somewhere
Well, take me out, let me breathe
Now we're getting somewhere
When I'm with you, I don't care
Where it is I'm falling

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah
When you took me to your room
I swear I said surrender
And when you opened up your mouth
I saw the words fall out
And when nothing much has changed
I swear I surrender
And there is pain in my heart, oh, oh
We can choose what we choose to believe.

When you left this town, with your windows down
And the wilderness inside

Let the exits pass, all the tar and glass
'Til the road and sky align

The strangers in this town
They raise you up just to cut you down
Oh Angela it's a long time coming

And your Volvo lights lit up green and white
With the cities on the signs

But you held your course to some distant war
In the corners of your mind

From the second time around
The only love I ever found
Oh Angela it's a long time coming
Home at last

Were you safe and warm in your coat of arms
With your fingers in a fist

Did you hear the notes, all those static codes
In the radio abyss?

Strangers in this town
They raise you up just to cut you down
Oh Angela it's a long time coming in
Oh Angela spent your whole life running away
Home at last
Home at last

Vacancy, hotel room, lost in me, lost in you
Angela, on my knees, I belong, I believe
Home at last
Home at last
Home at last
Home at last
Home at last.
