In 1986, I met a young Brazilian artist named Almir Sater.  We recorded together in Nashville and afterwards he invited me to meet him in Brazil to do some shows there.  Little did I know my life was about to change. As soon as I set foot in the country I felt like I was home and my love for the people, culture and music began. Decades later I started a project, translating lyrics of classic songs by Almir and two other friends, singer song-writer Renato Teixeira and legendary Brazilian artist, Sergio Reis. I recorded their songs in English and then invited the three of them to take part, adding their vocals in Portuguese.  Everyone loved the result of combining traditional Brazilian sertanejo music with the sounds and feel of American folk and country...
