"Never My Love" is a pop standard written by
American siblings Donald and Richard Addrisi and best known from a hit 1967
recording by The Association. The Addrisi Brothers had two Top 40 hits as
recording artists, but their biggest success was as the songwriters of
"Never My Love". Recorded by dozens of notable artists in the decades
since, in 1999 the music publishing rights organization Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI)
announced it was the second most-played song on radio and television of the
20th century.
You
ask me if there'll come a time
When
I grow tired of you
Never
my Love
Never
my Love
You
wonder if this heart of mine
Will
lose its desire for you
Never
my Love
Never
my Love
What
makes you think love will end
When
you know that my whole life depends
On
you (on you)
Never
my Love
Never
my Love
You
say you fear I'll change my mind
And I
won't require you
Never
my Love
Never
my Love
How
can you think love will end
When
I've asked you to spend your whole life
With
me (with me, with me).
