1989 é o quinto álbum
de estúdio da artista musical estadunidense Taylor Swift. O seu lançamento
ocorreu em 27 de outubro de 2014, através da Big Machine Records. Em junho de
2013, enquanto divulgava seu quarto disco Red (2012) com a turnê Red
Tour(2013-14), Swift declarou que estava ansiosa para iniciar as composições de
seu trabalho seguinte. Ao longo dos meses seguintes, produtores e compositores
como Ryan Tedder e Diane Warren confirmaram que estavam participando do novo
álbum da cantora. As gravações de 1989 ocorreram entre 2013 e 2014 em diversos
estúdios situados nos Estados Unidos e na Suécia com a produção executiva da
intérprete ao lado de Max Martin, sendo que ambos também participaram da
produção musical do CD juntamente com Jack Antonoff, Nathan Chapman, Imogen
Heap, Greg Kurstin, Mattman & Robin, Ali Payami, Shellback, Ryan Tedder e
Noel Zancanella. O título do disco foi inspirado pelo ano de nascimento de
Swift, bem como pela cena musical da época.
