Sticky Fingers is the
ninth British and 11th American studio album by the English rock band The
Rolling Stones, released in April 1971. It is the band's first album of the
1970s and its first release on the band's newly formed label, Rolling Stones
Records, after having been contracted since 1963 with Decca Records in the UK
and London Records in the US. It is also Mick Taylor's first full-length
appearance on a Rolling Stones album, the first Rolling Stones album not to
feature any contributions from guitarist and founder Brian Jones and the first
one on which singer Mick Jagger is credited with playing guitar.
Sticky Fingers is widely
regarded as one of the Rolling Stones' best albums. It achieved triple platinum
certification in the US and contains songs such as the chart-topping "Brown
Sugar", the country ballad "Dead Flowers", "Wild Horses",
"Can't You Hear Me Knocking", and "Moonlight Mil".
Childhood living is easy to do
The things you wanted, I bought them for you
Graceless lady, you know who I am
You know I can't let you slide through my hands
Wild horses couldn't drag me away
Wild, wild horses couldn't drag me away
I watched you suffer a dull aching pain
Now you decided to show me the same
No sweeping exits or offstage lines
Can make me feel bitter or treat you unkind
Wild horses couldn't drag me away
Wild, wild horses couldn't drag me away
I know I dreamed you a sin and a lie
I have my freedom, but I don't have much time
Faith has been broken, tears must be cried
Let's do some living after we die
Wild horses, couldn't drag me away
Wild, wild horses couldn't drag me away
Wild horses couldn't drag me away
Wild, wild horses, we'll ride them someday.
