André Léon Marie Nicolas Rieu (born 1 October 1949) is a Dutch violinist and conductor best known for creating the waltz-playing Johann Strauss Orchestra. Together they have turned classical and waltz music into a worldwide concert touring act, as successful as some of the biggest global pop and rock music acts. For his work, Rieu has been awarded such honours as the Order of the Netherlands Lion by the Netherlands, the Knight of the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by France, and the Honorary Medal by his native Province of Limburg.

Rieu began studying violin at the age of five. He created the Maastricht Salon Orchestra in 1978, and went on to create the Johann Strauss Orchestra in 1988.

A trilha sonora fora composta por James Horner, que trabalhara com Cameron em Aliens, o Resgate - ambos tiveram conflitos durante esse filme que Horner achou que nunca mais trabalhariam juntos, mas Cameron chamou-o por ter se impressionado com a trilha de Coração Valente. "My Heart Will Go On", fora escrita por Horner e Will Jennings em segredo porque Cameron não queria canções. Céline Dion gravou uma demo após ser persuadida pelo marido René Angélil, e Horner a exibiu em um dia que Cameron estava de bom humor. Cameron aprovou-a após ouvir algumas vezes, embora temesse pelo resultado. A música tornou-se líder das paradas mundiais e venceu o Óscar de Melhor Canção Original e o Grammy de Melhor Música criada para o Cinema, e ainda detêm o recorde de música mais executada da história.
