"As
Time Goes By" is a song written by Herman
Hupfeld in 1931. It became most famous in
1942 when part of it was sung by the character Sam (Dooley Wilson)
in the movie Casablanca.
The song was voted No. 2 on the AFI's 100 Years...100 Songs special,
commemorating the best songs in film. The song has since become the
representative song of Warner
Bros. and was also the title and theme
song of the 1990s British comedy series As Time Goes By.
You must remember this
A kiss is still a kiss
A sigh is just a sigh
The fundamental things apply
As time goes by
And when two lovers woo
They still say, I love you
On this you can rely
No matter what the future brings
As time goes by
Moonlight and love songs
Never out of date
Hearts full of passion
Jealousy and hate
Woman needs man
And man must have his mate
On this you can deny
It's still the same old story
A fight for love and glory
A case of do or die
The world will always welcome lovers
As time goes by
Moonlight and love songs
Never out of date
Hearts full of passion
Jealousy and hate
Woman needs man
And man must have his mate
that no one can deny
You must remember this
A kiss is still a kiss
A sigh is just a sigh
The fundamental things apply
As time goes by
